"My mom has been in Lakeline Oaks since late September. It is really nice. The on-site management is really friendly and attentive to the residents. At this point, it has been a pretty good experience. She likes the food. They are very accommodating and even bring food to her room free of charge. She feels well cared for there. She is in a private, one-bedroom apartment that is slightly smaller but has a table, a large bed, and kitchen. They provide bus transportation with a schedule. They have a variety of services, like an on-site clinic, physician, a concierge of medicine, and home health that is available on-site with which people can schedule appointments. We actually hire them to look after my mom. We chose it because it is really close to my house, and they had availability. "

"The Clairmont was the one I think my parents may have gone to. It's certainly an older facility, but the staff there was fantastic. The people there seemed incredibly happy, to the point where it almost seemed mischievous. I thought, "What are they doing with these folks here?" They're all together and there was a solid sense of community. It seemed like a place my parents would really, really like, and move to."

"The tour I had at Highland Estates was great. It's a beautiful place, the kind that I would love to put my mom in if it were income-based, or if the government had a program that could help. Just like where my mom is now, where they have a government program in place that offsets the cost of what room she's in. What I liked most was that it was a clean and beautiful facility, and the people were caring individuals. What I like least is the cost. The staff members I met were very friendly. They had transportation available and events scheduled for the residents. They also had physical therapy and exercise available. It's independent living, but there was no stove, and there's just a microwave, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to cook. They had food, but I can't remember exactly what the schedule was on that. They were in the middle of a remodel, but at the same time, it wasn't completely destroyed in the process of the remodel, and I can see where they were going with it."

"We toured Verena at Leander. I love it very much. I was very impressed by the three floors. It was magnificent. It was brand new. I thought it was very lovely. The only drawback was that it was a little farther. It's a 20-minute drive from Georgetown. I'm very happy and I think they have a very nice place. I don't believe it needed renovation because I thought it was gorgeous as always or maybe it was already completed when we were there. I didn't stay for a meal, but the food I saw there was excellent. I naturally went there once by myself, and then I took my son there and his wife and everything looked magnificent. The staff does a very good job. I believe they have a pool table, which I love to play."

"The Delaney at Georgetown Village was a very nice facility with nice people. That's where we were going to put Mom if we got that far, but we didn't get there. The person who assisted me was very nice and very helpful. The facility was clean. We sampled the food and it was very good. They have art projects, some gardening, outings that they would take the residents on, and they have doctors and nurses that come in or they take them to the doctor. It's pretty comprehensive. They have pretty much everything there."

"It is a very nice place, and I would recommend it. The staff is friendly. My aunt lives in a two-bedroom apartment. For a time, she didn't like the food."

"Belmont Village West Lake Hills was definitely clean and the people were very welcoming. The staff and the residents were sweet. My sister was with me, and we met with the director, the coordinator, and the nurse. They were all knowledgeable, except in a couple of areas they had to check on. They said they were gonna let me know if we could do this or that, but we never heard from them. It's a big facility and has a welcoming environment. They have a pool, and definitely a lot of activities for the residents. It looked like a fun place to be."

"Brookdale Westlake Hills was the place I liked the best out of the ones that I saw. It did not feel high-end. There seemed to be a lot of activities but not planned activities -- just people circulating that seemed to know each other. It has favorable statistics on the length of time people lived there. "

"I have been here to visit two of my friend who currently lives there. The facility is impeccable. It is very clean. The working staff is phenomenal and so nice. They have a lot to offer their clientele. They have a lot of activities. They have an exercise room and indoor pool for older people, which is accessible. The food is wonderful. "

"I visited The Continental and loved it. The person who accommodated me was really good and knew her stuff. We were there at dinner, and the food looked good. They had a library, game room, dining room, and a bus that takes them anywhere they want to go. They have all kinds of activities, I'm really impressed. If I get older, I want to go there. Its way above what is available in our area, so it's really great. They had a soup and salad bar, ice cream bar, and snacks."

"We had a good visit at Village on the Park - Onion Creek. The staff was good. The apartments were average. They had a library."

"I had seen Affinity at Round Rock last year and actually had put some money down on it, but my circumstances were that I had to pull it. I was very impressed and pleased with them. I did an in-person visit, and I even had picked out a room. I was impressed with everything. I had two visits with two different people and they were marvelous. The room was everything I wanted. The building at the time wasn't quite a year old. The activities were great. It was independent living, so there were a lot of people like me, and they had a really nice outside. They had an area for sitting out or if you had company. They had a garden area where you could have a little patch of land and plant your flowers. The parking was good, and they had a variety depending on how much you wanted to spend. They had a happy hour. The price was right at the time. If I could do it again at that price, I probably would."

"My mom has moved into The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living. The staff is really good. On the bottom floors are the assisted living and there were some nurses down on the floor, and we didn't know where to walk in for the tour because they were doing some construction on the driveway, and we just walked in the first door found. We didn't have masks or anything and they were really quick but kind to say, "Hey, wait, wait, wait, where are you going and what are you doing?" And then they helped us get to where we were going and the lady at the reception desk was really sweet. Also, nobody was annoyed. Then we met with Roger, who was the guy that showed us the apartments and stuff, and he was very patient. We looked at three different places in there and they were just amazing. Every aspect of it was great. Every time we passed a person, he knew their name, and that's not his job, really, and they all liked him. So, it was really neat. We're not allowed to eat there, but my mom raves about it, and she's pretty picky. They have two menus: a menu that they do every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then they have a menu for when they don't like what they're serving that day. It's a menu that is sandwiches, hamburgers, and things like that that most people will eat if they didn't like what's on the menu. So, they have a lot of options. Sometimes it is okay, and sometimes it's like mom's confused about it. But she's enjoying being there. It's very clean. That was my main thing. Everything's included like the electricity, the cable, and one meal a day. You can pay more. They also have refrigerators. They have a swimming pool, a deck where they can sit outside, and there are tables outside, no matter where they are. Inside they have a library and a gaming room. They also do cooking classes and all sorts of things with the people there. It's awesome. It doesn't cost extra money, either. I spent the day with her over there and we did a little shopping and when we got back, she was like, "Oh no, it's past two o'clock. That thing would start at two o'clock." And she raced down there, and she did a little boogie while they were doing a little drumming. They do something every day, so there's something different. They have a schedule, and they do great activities with them. They do chair yoga, too. I think tomorrow they're taking a shuttle to JCPenney right down the road. It's just really neat. She's getting all that and she's got a studio apartment. Everything's included for $2100 bucks a month. To me, that was super inexpensive compared to what I've been looking at."
