I'm in Highland Estates. The people are very friendly and caring, and there are a lot of activities. It's very comfortable, and you feel right at home here. The place is nice. The one-bedroom apartment that I have has a nice view, and it's very sunny. It is a really nice place. People would feel very comfortable here, and it is close to restaurants and places where you can go. It is dog-friendly, too. Meals and housekeeping are also included. No washers and dryers in the apartment, but they have a laundry room that you can use, which is free of charge. They have a place where you can have a nice walk, and they've got a garden that the residents take care of. If you go out in the front, they've got rockers, chairs, and benches where you can sit down and enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine. They have bingo, social hour, happy hour on Fridays, a library, a game room, a puzzle room, and all kinds of activities for the seniors to keep them occupied. The staff is very good. Value for money is very good.

The tour I had at Highland Estates was great. It's a beautiful place, the kind that I would love to put my mom in if it were income-based, or if the government had a program that could help. Just like where my mom is now, where they have a government program in place that offsets the cost of what room she's in. What I liked most was that it was a clean and beautiful facility, and the people were caring individuals. What I like least is the cost. The staff members I met were very friendly. They had transportation available and events scheduled for the residents. They also had physical therapy and exercise available. It's independent living, but there was no stove, and there's just a microwave, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to cook. They had food, but I can't remember exactly what the schedule was on that. They were in the middle of a remodel, but at the same time, it wasn't completely destroyed in the process of the remodel, and I can see where they were going with it.
