"The tour I had at Highland Estates was great. It's a beautiful place, the kind that I would love to put my mom in if it were income-based, or if the government had a program that could help. Just like where my mom is now, where they have a government program in place that offsets the cost of what room she's in. What I liked most was that it was a clean and beautiful facility, and the people were caring individuals. What I like least is the cost. The staff members I met were very friendly. They had transportation available and events scheduled for the residents. They also had physical therapy and exercise available. It's independent living, but there was no stove, and there's just a microwave, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to cook. They had food, but I can't remember exactly what the schedule was on that. They were in the middle of a remodel, but at the same time, it wasn't completely destroyed in the process of the remodel, and I can see where they were going with it."

"Maple Ridge Gracious Retirement Living have handle bars all the way down the hallways. People can grab a hold of them in case they fall, which is nice. The building is also less than a mile away from my house and there's a grocery store right next door. They have a nice corner apartment. They got greenery to look out at instead of the highway. The staff members were great. We took the grand tour of everything, and we went back there for their entertainment. They had wonderful music outside, which was very good. The staff was very gracious, and the people living there were happy, which was a biggie."

"Lakeline is a different kind of place. It’s pretty new, and it reminded me of a cruise ship. When you walk in you see the grand dining room, and the dining room on the first level. It’s open with balconies, and from the hallways of the residential room above you see these balconies that overlook the dining areas. Along the hallways they have a library, a bridge room, cards room, and a fire place with a sitting area around it where the residents can get together on their own. We had a meal there with the residents. They were really friendly, and happy there. There was plenty of food, and they have options for diabetics. "

"I liked Clairmont. I thought everything was fine. It was just not affordable for my sister. The staff gave me a tour. They were very helpful. They were absolutely friendly and attentive. Everything was really nice. The rooms were not spacious, but they were not small. I would say they were in a good size. The dining area was clean, bright and well appointed. What stood out to me was the location. It was close to me. "

"We saw the assisted living at Belmont Village West Lake Hills. The tour was excellent. The person showing us around answered all of our question,s and she was very good. It was a very good tour. The rooms were nice, but small. The staff was very knowledgeable and very personable. The cleanliness of the place was excellent."

"I was apprehensive when I moved into the Brookdale Westlake Hills Independent Living facility in February 2015. Would I enjoy the freedom that my wife and I had in our home? Would I be comfortable in my Brookdale apartment? Would the Brookdale meals be as good as those coming from my kitchen? Now that I have been in Brookdale for almost a year and a half I realize that my apprehension was all wrong. Brookdale is a wonderful place. I have all the freedom that I ever had—I can come and go as I please. I live in a very comfortable apartment and the meals in the Brookdale dining room equal or exceed those that I previously enjoyed. However, the real plus to living at Brookdale is being a member of the family of Brookdale residents and associates. Both are exceptionally friendly and the associates are ready and willing to help with any problem I might have. Brookdale provides both entertaining and enlightening activities every week. The calendar is crowded with concerts, lectures, games, trips to nearby attractions, and other activities. I can take part in as many or as few as I want; they are more than enough to keep me busy. I’m glad I moved to Brookdale! "

"My mom was in the assisted living facility and it was very nice. She was comfortable when she was there. I had lunch a couple times there with her and the food was good. "

"I live at The Wesleyan. It's great. This is independent living. The people here are wonderful. It's a great place to be. I have an 1800-square-foot cottage. You name it, they have it. They have golf. They play beanbag baseball, and they play volleyball. They have all kinds of activities. They have book clubs, men's meetings, groups for the veterans, a women's club, an art studio, caregiver support groups, a gym, exercise classes, and a swimming pool. If you want to participate, you can do it. They have miniature golf and walking trails. It's very nice all around the community. It's well liked and a hard to get into community. There are two big buildings. We go back and forth between the two large buildings for different activities. They have a chapel because this is a Christian-based organization. We have two chaplains, who are on-hand at all times. It was hard to get in to. We waited four years. We didn't want to live in the buildings. We wanted to live in the cottage, so we had to wait for them to build them. This house is only 2-1/2 years old. It's a very good community. When you're old and forgetful, people can become irritated with you, but that never happens here. They're just very caring. The staff is great. With this pandemic, Wesleyan has been super proactive right from the beginning. Nobody had to go outside. Everybody who wanted to be fully vaccinated has been. They had the first vaccine, the second vaccine, the first booster, and the second booster. They bring in healthcare. They have healthcare here, but it's a separate entity. They gave the regular flu shots. They've been opening their clinics to the public for people who wanted to get the COVID shot and the booster shots. It's a wonderful facility. It's not home cooking, but there's nothing there that you can't eat. They have a variety of food at every meal. I have no problem with it. My husband has gained weight, and I remarked about that. Most of the men that are here have gained weight because they like the food. They're renovating the original building now. It's not even 10 years old, so they maintain. They have a maintenance crew here all the time. If you have a problem, you call, they'll come and fix it. I'm very happy here, and most of the people here are happy as well. "

"We found Merritt Heritage Senior Village. So far, so good. The staff is very nice, the apartment is very nice, it's 1,100 square feet, two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, and back porch. We chose it for the cost and the facility that was available. They had a wide variety of activities from cards, to puzzles, to games, to TV, to movies, to a gym, swimming, they have a walking trail, and just a wide variety of activities. They have a bus, and they do tours, and they go places twice a week. The staff has been very helpful and very nice."

"The only place I went to was Sun City. It was a great place. They had independent living. They had individual homes and cottages. All that I looked at were excellent. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was very pleased with it. They had all kinds of clubs. They had wood working shops. The grounds were well taken care of and well kept. "

"Emerald Cottages of Round Rock was great. It really was. It was a nice place. It looked brand new. The room I saw was excellent. It had a large kitchen, a large bathroom, an amazing number of closets, and one closed garage with extra space there. Utilities were covered, but not Wifi. It also had a large patio. The salesperson was very upfront and very nice. She paid attention to what I wanted. We talked about the pros and the cons. She was very straightforward and looked to fill my needs."

"I love Affinity at Round Rock. The people here are so nice. I am really enjoying living here. It's a very nice and clean facility. They respond to any request that I have. The residents are the ones that decide what activities they want for the month. They have a Bible study and all kinds of different activities."

"I moved into The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living. It's clean and bright and has good lighting. The staff is very professional and helpful. The food is very nutritious and very tasty and there's plenty of it. Today, we had grilled cheese, caramelized onions, and corn. They have a pool, and housekeeping every couple of weeks for independent living, and they supply the fall alert button. They have religious services, games, a theater, and movie nights."
