"I went to visit Morada Pantego. The grounds were well-kept. When you walked in, there was no clutter or anything of that nature. It looked very nice. One staff member toured with me and showed me one of the rooms. They were very nice and pleasant. They liked what they did. The dining area was nice. It wasn't crowded. You didn't feel like you had to sit very close together. The room was nice; I did get to see that. For one person, it was great."

"My mom moved to Morada Lake Arlington, and the big deciding factor was that I have a special needs brother, and he was able to find a place there with her as well. They were able to get a two-bedroom unit within the facility. All of their activities and the super welcoming environment have been great and accommodating for both my mom and brother. They have everything they both need, which makes things extra great because he's not a senior citizen. So, him being able to still reside with her and have a lot of engaging activities and stuff going on was a big selling point. My mom and brother say the food is fantastic."

"My mother-in-law is in here. I visited several places and when I went in, everyone was very nice and cordial, but for some reason, that place just gave me the impression that they were all very caring. For one thing, it wasn't just the fact they were caring. It was the residents there that made me feel at home also. They all would just pass by me and start talking to me. That impressed me more than anything as far as the rest of them. All of the people just were so, so friendly, the staff, residents, everyone. That's how my mother-in-law is. She talks to everyone and I said she will love this place and she does. They provide three meals a day and snacks during the daytime. I ate with her the first night and we had an awesome meal of barbecued chicken wings and it was awesome. She goes at least to two meals a day. She chose a studio because she doesn't really have a lot and she absolutely loves that she has a backdoor that goes to a patio. That sold her as much as the people being so sweet and so nice. They have exercise classes and they have all kinds of games. Her main thing was they do have a church service on Wednesday. Even last night when I went to visit her, she made me take a bite of her taco salad and it was good. Everything looks really good. I visited several of the rooms too, and they were all really nice."

"I loved The Hamilton at Garden Valley. It was beautiful. I got to see the apartments, and they looked nice. The staff was very courteous, and she was very willing to show me around. She took the time to answer my questions. She was just very open and very positive."

"My father has a room reserved at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Retirement Center. It's very clean and very updated. They have very friendly people. It has a library, a church, a beauty shop and a barber shop, and a very nice big dining area. It's just a really nice place. It has a country setting and he really enjoyed it."

"I toured the Villas of Lancaster. I like the way the community looked. It was clean and just looked quiet. I like the upkeep of it and everything. I didn't get to visit one of the apartments. They didn't have anything for me to look at, but the property and everything looked well-kept. All I did was fill out an application. He didn't give me a whole lot of information. I just left my information out with him. I just looked at the property and it looked good to me."

"The Rose at Cedar Hill was not a large facility. I think they've got only 93 or so and I am looking for something like that. It looked like it was fairly good. I think the complex has been there for three or four years, but it looks well-kept. It's very clean. As far as the facility outside, like the grounds and everything, it was very clean. They gave me enough information and I asked questions as far as putting me on the waiting list and they assisted me and helped out on that. They had certain times during the week when they had movies and other activities going on, and they've got it posted in a calendar where you'd be able to see them."

"I applied to The Arbors On Wintergreen Senior Apartments, and they got my mother on the list as number 5, but we have been on the list at number 5 for about two months now, and nobody called back. It seems to me like a nice, quiet place. I live next door to it. They seem pretty clean and they're for seniors 55 and above. They have overhead parking where you won't get wet, and upstairs, they have an elevator. So if you end up on the third floor, you should have an elevator. For activities, they have Bible study classes, bingo, and stuff like that, and for holidays, they have get-togethers."

"I went to The Luxe at Cedar Hill to visit a friend. She was staying in the single home in the back. It was nice. I liked it. I saw a two bedroom two bath. Their bathroom and main bedroom are what I'm looking for, something that is accessible, especially for my husband. It had a garage and it was spacious enough. I liked it but I know I'm not going to be able to afford one of those. The kitchen was also spacious enough. I liked the area and the floor plan my friend had. I didn't experience any of the staff but what I got from her was they were good."

"The Bridgemoor at Desoto was beautiful. It's refreshing. I loved how the apartments were set up. I could see myself living there. The residents were very welcoming. The lady that did the tour was so friendly and so helpful. She took her time with me and showed me all the amenities. One group had a movie going, while others were playing chess. I knew a couple of guys that lived there from my church who were having a chess tournament. The way they were watching movies and where they had a popcorn machine over there was really neat. The food was to die for. They also had a concierge and I saw how maintenance cleaned the place up. It was just perfect."

"I went to Hickory Manor Senior Apartments and it is like individual homes. The thing that caught my eye the most was the cleanliness. The grass was cut, the maintenance outside was wonderful, and it was clean. They had a beauty salon and a little list when you come in for you to put your name and the time when you want to come to the beauty salon. They got a swimming pool. There are not too many activities right now because of the Covid, but the staff said they are gonna start doing some of the activities pretty soon. The people in the office seemed very friendly. There is just something about the vibe there. I talked to them on the phone and I said I just wanted to introduce myself so they could meet me. Then the staff gave me some literature. They just do not have enough leeway moneywise. You have to pay for the parking space or car port. The place was beautiful, immaculate, and clean."

"Champions Cove has true independent living. You could have a stove and a refrigerator in your apartment. They have a bus for the people in the community. They take them to Tom Thumb, Walmart, and Kroger's on certain days, and they take you to your doctor's appointments. It costs a little more, but it's worth it. The staff was very nice and informative. They're very respectful of the people that live there."
