"Sunrise of Plano is a very huge place. There was so much activity, and I was very impressed. It was like a busy boulevard. There were people in the beauty shop. There were people having a snack. I met several staff along the tour, and they were delightful. "

"However, it had a strange smell, and both times I went there, the person who showed me around did not smell it. Everything was a dark color, and it was much darker the first time I went there. On the second time, the hallways weren’t quite so dark, but still everything was brown. The furniture in the common rooms is heavy and brown, but I have the option to repaint my apartment at my expense. "

"It is beautiful. They have ala carte dining. They have a fitness center and a swimming pool. They do a good job on the upkeep of the place. The staff members are accommodating and friendly. The appearance of it is very good. It is gated and there are garages available. It is centrally located, too. It is older but very well kept. This is the one that has everything that I needed."

"I liked Parkview very much. There were people all over doing things. Their swimming pool was absolutely outstanding. They had a beauty salon and a lot of activities. Different people taught classes on odd things, which is terrific because that's interesting. They served all three meals but breakfast is always available, and then you choose either lunch or dinner. The place is lovely and I saw three different apartments, most of which had decks. The food was delicious."

"The staff at The Wellington at Arapaho is wonderful. They're very caring, attentive, and very helpful. The food is good. The facility is very clean. Maintenance does a good job. They have Friday entertainment, bands or singing or playing instruments. There's bingo, billiards, drawing, and other board games. It's worth it because the area we're in, there are other facilities that offer less and charge more than we do."

"I chose The El Dorado for myself because of the location. I liked how it's laid out. The atmosphere suits me quite well. The rooms are very nicely sized. The studios are big. I felt like I belonged there. The dining area is very much like an upscale restaurant."

"My mother liked the Chateau very much, and the experience was very positive. The thing that she likes about the environment is that it is a retirement apartment with amenities and three meals a day, which is what she needs. She loves the freedom to be able to go where she want to at the same time have somebody cook meals for her. There were some things that she is getting used to, but I think it’s more a matter of adjustment. It had a lot of great views and it was only 4 miles away from us. "

"Pioneer Ridge Gracious Retirement Living was fabulous. Great amenities and home cooked meals; they make all their meals from scratch. Their dining area was very nice. They have a gym, a movie theater, and 24-hour ice cream. I liked the way they approached me. I thought it was really a nice facility. "

"I have my parents and Mother-in-law at Atria. We've been there almost two years, both in Assisted Living and now Memory Care. The staff is so kind, helpful, upbeat, and supportive both for us and our parents! The staff bring such a brightness to me and often help reset my mood on the way in; I really appreciate that our parents also benefit from their upbeat kindness! The feel of the building is a little old-fashioned, and I think that helps our parents feel at home - they are a little old-fashioned, too. My parents are in a Memory Care room together, so it is a little snug, but most other places couldn't even accommodate them and 2 walkers. Our parents enjoy meals with their friends. My MIL loves the MC garden (it is really nice!) and enjoys movie nights and mainly watches other activities, though she is welcomed and feels comfortable. At this stage, we most appreciate the seamless care and communication between doctors, nurse, home health, and staff; that has done wonders for their health and everyone's peace of mind."

"The lady at Briarview was very nice and all my questions were answered. She even had her help services person get in touch with me about my other questions, so it has been thorough. The place was new and didn't have many clients yet, which is a good and bad thing. The rooms are apartment-type. "

"I toured The Reserve at North Dallas. The apartments were very new, with huge closets and big rooms. The kitchen was very nice with some granite countertops. They had some good choices of food. And if you didn't like what they were serving, they had other food available for you that you could get, kind of what they always have. The outside was nice. The places, community rooms, and community spaces looked nice, along with all the activities they provided, and there were lots of choices. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, had lots of great information, was very friendly, and took the time. The residents were nice. Some of them were sharing their stories and what they liked about them. So, that was good too."

"I had a friend here. She liked it there and she was happy. Her room had two bedrooms but it was small. There was a garden in the facility. The food was delicious. "

"I had a very brief visit. It seemed nice but it just didn't seem nice enough for what I was looking for at that time. What was appealing to me was the outside of the place. It was very attractive. However, when you walk in, it was not. The staff seemed very kind. Their residents seem happy though I only saw a few. Their rooms were very simple. "

"Lakeview at Josey Ranch was attractive, clean, modern and new. However, we wanted a facility that was located in Dallas. They had fewer large apartments compared to others, and I thought they offered not as much activities as the other facilities. "
