I toured Legacy Oaks of Midlothian Senior Living. It's nice and beautiful. They had a lot of activities and things to do, and people working there assisting the patients. It was larger than the other facility. The other facility only holds 16 memory care patients, and we learned that Legacy Oaks holds 23, but they were full and had a waiting list. The staff seemed to be very kind and very concerned with their patient. It felt very home in the memory care area.

I toured Legacy Oaks of Midlothian Senior Living. The people there were very nice, and I did not get to look into an apartment and their cottages, but that's where I wanted to be. The problem with it is you have to take their meals and everything. It's not as independent as it sounds, and I don't want to pay for their meals. It's too much money for that. They wanted $2,500 to get in, and that's steep as far as I'm concerned. Since I don't participate in many activities, I wouldn't get much out of it. The place was beautiful, and their dining area was like a restaurant.

My mother moved into Legacy Oaks of Midlothian. Our interaction with the staff up there is great, and everybody's just really friendly. They've got a bistro in there so we can go order something to eat and pay for it there, and have a restaurant meal with my mom. The food is fine in the bistro. They're always having some activities there. They have a time for reading the Bible, and then they have memory stuff that they do to help them. The other day when I was there they were asking history questions about different things. It feels more like a home to me than anything else. The building is really nice and clean. I've been to the public restrooms and I've been to the restroom in my mom's room, and they are always clean.

We chose the Legacy Oaks of Midlothian for my dad because it was right down the road from my house. They have a lot of activities. The staff was very accommodating. They have separate villas detached from the building where you can rent more space. The least thing about it is the apartments are very small. The lady that toured us was very friendly, very comforting to my dad, and very helpful in helping him to meet new people. They have a pool area and a restaurant with a private chef. The facility was very clean.

It was the director that toured us at Legacy Oaks of Midlothian, and she impressed me very well with how much she loved the people there. The patients knew who she was, so that tells me she interacts with them even though it's a big facility. It tells me that she interacts with them because they knew who she was, so that was a good thing. The rooms are very clean, neat, and well decorated. They're more like little small apartments. They were in the living room watching TV and they had just finished doing bingo, they said they had a craft session with them. We toured everything from the assisted living part to the memory care section, so we saw all of it. They also had a courtyard.

The Memory Care Unit has been chronically understaffed since my dad's arrival. Especially in the area of housekeeping. My dad's room does not get cleaned for days. I have to get onto the management to get his bathroom cleaned because urine and feces is not cleaned up. And often this still does not remedy the problem. Overall, the rooms and facility is lovely and most of the staff are friendly. Because they have had difficulty keeping people employed, some of the staff has been less than friendly to my dad. This is not uncommon in long term care facilities and something that needs to be watched by families. They offer activities for the residents, although my dad is not very social. The menu seems to be acceptable, with several options everyday.

Legacy Oaks of Midlothian seems like a very nice facility. The apartments seem very nice and clean. They were 1-bedroom apartments, and they were spacious and big enough. They had some things going on that seemed like they would be very beneficial, like art and things like that. The staff seemed very caring. I remember that they had a pool and an outside small gardening facility. It's almost brand-new. It's very clean, well-maintained, and organized.
