Nursing Home Communities in Cedar Hill, TX

"My sister is at Methodist Transitional Care Center. She has been there for two and a half weeks now. They do physical therapy. They're pretty good. I would give them high marks. The atmosphere is pretty positive. Cleanliness was an issue, but in fairness, they corrected it right away. The problem there is they're short-staffed, and you can tell it affects the quality of the staff. Physical therapy is excellent. My sister's room is clean. They have activities and stuff there also. I know they play bingo and they have puzzles they work with them on. There are some more, but those are the ones that come to mind. The community dining area is very clean and spacious."

"The facility itself is very well sanitized. Immediately when you walk in you get the familiar smell of ammonia you find in most medical facilities. The manager, David, works very hard and cares very much for his business. The staff is what causes me to give the facility the 3 star rating, while in the presence of management or the state, the are very attentive, however, otherwise you will find a lacking sense of urgency in matters both medical and non-medical matters. I have seen many cases of patients with call lights flashing for long periods of time, or screaming patients on the floor. Overall, the facility is well kept and has potential to be a lot better. "

"The Lennwood is pretty good. I had no problems with them; anytime on medication situation or if he falls or anything, they called me straight away. The rooms were kind of small, but other than that it was OK. "

"This is our second time for rehabilitation. The facility looks better and is cleaner the our last visit. Our mother is going for the rehabilitation to long term care side. But we have seen no difference in care or staffing. The care seems to be good regardless of where you are in the building. "

"When you walked into Red Oak Health and Rehabilitation Center, it smelled like a nursing home or a rehab. The rooms were drab and dreary. My brother stayed there for two weeks, and then I moved him up here to Plano. It's an older place. I think it's probably the only rehabilitation place in Red Oak, and it looks like it's been there forever. The rooms needed to be updated and painted to make them a little bit more cheery for some of the people that were there. He never went to therapy at that place. They would come into his room and do it while he was sitting in the bed. He was worse off back then than he is now. He didn't feel like doing a whole lot when he went into Red Oak. The staff was OK. I tried to be patient with the staff because they've got a lot of things going there. My brother didn't get along with some of them, but they tried to do the best they could. Sometimes the food looked good, sometimes it didn't."

"I admitted my aunt to The Villa at Mountain View a few weeks ago. It was clean and had no odors. The staff was nice and friendly and seemed to genuinely care about her well-being. My aunt celebrated her 97th birthday while she was a patient and the staff bought her a cake and sang happy birthday to her. That gesture truly made her day. The Rehab team was great too. They worked with my aunt every day and she showed great improvement. My family and I were very pleased with our experience and allowed her to transition to a permanent patient. "

"My friend is in rehab at Millbrook. It seems like a good place for him to be right now. They take care of him pretty good. He has a decent room, and the nurses seem good. They help him eat. He has a big room, and he has a TV and a loveseat in there. They also have the entertainment area where people were sitting and watching TV. They have a dining room. It's a pretty nice place. The first room he had was dirty, but the nurses did the best they could, and they moved him to a different room."

"This is a wonderful facility that cares about its residents. They took such great care of my mother and I was so happy we found MHC. The admin staff helped my family through all necessary steps needed for her to stay in their facility. The day to day care of the nursing staff was amazing. There were several nurses and aides that went the extra mile caring for my mother and making her comfortable. The administration, therapy and nursing staff care about families, residents and each other. I would highly recommend this beautiful facility to anyone. My family can not thank them enough."

"My father was moved to Kindred after a horrible experience at Matlock Place in Arlington, TX. Kindred was the best care our family could have hoped for. The staff was caring and attentive. The facility was a little dated, but the care was great. We felt he was in a good place, and our worry subsided after the previous experience. We strongly recommend this facility. "

"My 96yearoldmother is in a private room and it is very spacious and she is able to move around in a wheelchair and bathroom is huge and also wheelchair friendly.The staff has been so caring for my mom.( I feel they are doing over and above for being short staffed) The morning nurse- Hilda and evening nurse Carolyn Farmer and the others( medication nurses,CNA,housekeepers and dietary workers) have been pleasant.Mom has enjoyed the activities- Bingo,music,and art.We also used the salon for her hair( nice lady Donna).The food was ok alittle under seasoning and was cut in bites for her.The P.T. was excellent.The social worker,Sydney and Tamara was so sweet and caring.This is my mom and my experience.I realize everyone has their own opinions- ours was very positive . "

"I chose Manorcare Health Services for my mom because it was close to my grandmother's house and I knew some people who used to work there and she referred them. The rooms were clean, big enough for two people and she shared it with another resident. The staff was very good, professional and they communicated with you. I had been pleased by the care she got because she gained weight since she moved in. I liked that the staff interacted with the family member and they contacted me before they did anything to her. Every month they called and gave an evaluation. I had not eaten there but she seemed to like the food. I thought that she needed more activities for stimulation because she was a high-functioning individual. "

"My brother in law was a resident at Metroplex 8/08-2/12. He received very good care. He resided on the Secured unit and was always clean and the activites were support. My family and I attended the Resident's council. This group helped us understand the rules and regulation. Some families expect one-on-one and that is not the case. We would go back again if services for LTC are needed again. Thanks Metroplex!!! "
