"We saw The Clairmont in Austin on Monday. I like that the rooms have been remodeled, and they looked very nice. We saw their exercise room, the cafeteria, and the library. We saw the entire community. The staff seemed very pleasant. Everyone was nice when we walked in. There weren't any activities going on. There were some people coming in the media room and library, and no one was in the activity room. It's being maintained very well, and everyone was just super pleasant. It was a nice experience overall."

"The Conservatory at Wells Branch was nice. We did eat there, and what we had was good. The entertainment they had was very nice and interesting. The staff was very cordial. Overall, it was very nice. It was a pleasant place, everything was attractive, and the people seemed friendly. "

"Village on the Park Onion Creek was chosen because my mother has an outside entrance with a patio -- we can go to the patio and visit her, so we don't have to go into the building -- and also the price. The main thing was the accessibility to visit. The staff members seem pretty nice. The room is quite large with a separate bedroom, nice windows, and a kitchenette. With COVID, the activities are extremely limited. They have exercise class, bingo, and she has joined a riders club. They were the nicest facility for the value."

"The hallways at Lakeline Oaks were not welcoming and were dark. They served the food buffet-style. The residents would pick something up from the salad bar with their hands, taste it, and put it back. Anybody who had a cane could not carry their tray and there wasn't anybody around to help them carry their trays. I was impressed with their facilities, though. They had a beautiful area where they could do performances or show movies. "

"Maple Ridge Gracious Retirement Living was beautiful, clean, and had very friendly staff. Their marketing person was excellent, generous, offered us lunch, gave us a tour, and showed us all the facilities. It was a beautiful tour, and they were extremely attentive. We were there at lunchtime, so we were able to see the clients eating. The amenities all looked nice when we did our walking around. I could see in the craft room, and they had people that were doing stuff. It wasn't like you were walking around an empty space with everyone staying in their rooms. People were actively engaged in activities, and you could see it had a nice social setting. The staff who assisted me was awesome. He was wonderful."

"Provident Crossing is probably one of my favorite ones. Whenever they move somebody out, they put brand-new rugs or carpeting in and repaint the room, so it's really nice. It's really a fine place. I went to lunch over there two or three different times, and I really liked it. "

"I toured and I thought the public spaces looked really nice and pretty modern. The eating area looked good. The rooms were a little smaller than my dad was looking for, so that was a negative for us, but they were in reasonably good condition. They were built for seniors to eat everything in the public facility and my dad likes to eat at home a lot. The staff seemed friendly. They seemed to interact well with the people there, though I didn't see a lot. I would have needed a bigger apartment and maybe a little bit more modern as well. That was the issue for us."

"The tour I had at Highland Estates was great. It's a beautiful place, the kind that I would love to put my mom in if it were income-based, or if the government had a program that could help. Just like where my mom is now, where they have a government program in place that offsets the cost of what room she's in. What I liked most was that it was a clean and beautiful facility, and the people were caring individuals. What I like least is the cost. The staff members I met were very friendly. They had transportation available and events scheduled for the residents. They also had physical therapy and exercise available. It's independent living, but there was no stove, and there's just a microwave, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to cook. They had food, but I can't remember exactly what the schedule was on that. They were in the middle of a remodel, but at the same time, it wasn't completely destroyed in the process of the remodel, and I can see where they were going with it."

"Verena at Leander has more amenities to offer than average, and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff and the residents that we talked to were very enthusiastic about the place. They have a saltwater pool that they keep at 92 degrees, which is just perfect for my therapy. They have an Italian chef (I'm going to lunch with them today). Overall, the apartments were just really nice. I would love to live there."

"I have visited The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living. We saw the bedrooms, all of the activity rooms, and some of the people. We had dinner there a couple of times, and the food is very good. It's well presented, and the employees are courteous. They have fun activities and different kinds of parties. They have a bus to take you to the grocery and the doctor. The dining hall is very good -- maybe even a little monotonous, but that might be the case with all of them. They have bingo, dominoes, crafts of all kinds, a library, and videos you can check out and take to your home. It's quite nice. The furnishings are beautiful too. They have a full-time chef."

"I moved to The Oscar at Georgetown. My apartment is very nice and very comfortable. The food is good. They've got a variety of food to eat. The facility is very clean. The staff is friendly and nice."

"I toured The Village at The Triangle. I liked the food. It was made-to-order food, and it was nice. They were saying that for dinner, they are more crowded, but the day I went, even for lunch, it was a little crowded. I believe that's very unusual, but it was good. The service was excellent. The apartment was very nice, and that's exactly what I want. It's very clean. The person who gave the tour was good."

"I moved into Sunday Village. The renovations that have been done in the last five years are very well-constructed. The apartments are very clean. They've done major upgrades on the structure, grounds, pest control procedures, and amenities. There has always been someone in the office when I have been there, even outside of the advertised hours. So, I've had great contact whenever I need it with staff, and very good explanations on the services and amenities that the common areas offer. There is a food bank in the common area, though, a food pantry, which is useful."
