"My sister-in-law is in the nursing home at Walnut Hills. From what I see, it's not the best place where I would want to put my family member. The person I interacted with there is very nice, and the welcome was very pleasant. It was very good, but they're not fast except for that one guy in the wing where she was. There were nights when she needed help in the bathroom that she had to do it on her own because nobody came to help her. The place is clean. I am looking for a hospital bed for my sister-in-law to donate to them because I think nobody needs to be on that bed since it belongs to the trash. They need better consideration of the elderly, but I think the pricing is good. She shares a room with somebody else, and there's just a bed, nightstand, and closet."

"My wife was here and had a wonderful stay. We were down stairs in a private room. The techs were so kind and helpful. Although her stay was short I am glad that it made the bridge between the hospital and home that much easier. Nobody wants to need rehab and care but this was a great place to get it."

"This place is amazing. We toured over 12 facilities in our area before we decided this was the right fit. The activities director is so caring and amazing at finding the right activities to keep residents engaged. I'm often there at meal times, all the direct care staff spend so much time with each person making sure their needs are met during and after meals. This place is a hidden gem. "

There were CNA's that would check on her even if they were not assigned to her wing. It's not a new place or a fancy place but the residents all seem happy. They have their own community. "

"I love this large nursing and rehab facility. I have a friend who has been there since 2009 and I have seen improvements everyday since. I visit on the weekends and there is always activities going on like bingo, church service, and arts/ crafts. They have some of the most caring staff I have ever seen. My friend really likes living there and has made many friends along the way. "

I have never met such caring people before. He was in another rehab center and we took him out as soon as possible. "I had lunch with my friend here and the food was good. It was set up like a hotel. It was a seated dining and you would order from a menu. It was a very nice place and the staff in the front desk and the restaurant seemed fine. "

"My mother has already gone into Heartland Health Care Center. I wanted something that did have Medicaid in case we do run out of money because $4500 a month does add up fast no matter how much money you have. I love the courtyard aspect of it. The people were lovely, and it was an older facility which my mother would like. She’s very happy there. The staff has been great; service has been wonderful. Any issues I’ve had, I’ve talked them over with them, and it’s been dealt with and resolved, so I’m very happy. The interesting thing is that she has always said she likes to be alone. She came in with really no friends, just me and family. She is one of those women that sits at the front and waves to everybody and says hello. They have a bus that takes them out at least twice a month, and they’d go out shopping and they’d go to Big Lots. Once a month, they do the mystery ride where they just drive around in the bus, and it’s one of their favorites. "

"I know Longhorn Village pretty well because my father was there before, so I feel very comfortable in that place. Their current project will not be finished until 2024, so that's about the right time (that I move in). If you're in independent living and you need assisted living, you can move to the next level or if you need more help or you need nursing care or a memory unit, you can move there. They have a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a washing machine and dryers in the apartment and that's included in the service charge. They also have wi-fi. Another good thing is that it's not on a busy street. The staff during the tour was knowledgeable and pleasant and there was no pressure at all. They don't push you too much. The food was great; it's better than restaurant food. They have a courtyard and a lot of places for walking. It's a pretty good campus. They have gathering activities, group trips, and group dining. They also have the bus to the UT campus if you want to continue your education and you also can book them to doctors' appointments and things like that."

"My father is currently in Pflugerville Care Center. My mother just got out of there. They are very caring, lovely people. They are short staffed, but I really have nothing negative to say about the staff because it takes special people to do that. The rooms are OK. They have two people in one room, but the TV is only in front of one bed. Luckily, my parents were in the same room together, but at first my father had a roommate and the TV was in front of his roommate, so he didn't get to really participate in much TV watching, which was depressing for him, of course. It's one of the better nursing homes that I have been in because this is not the first rehab my father's been in. Neither one of my parents got sick and they've been vaccinated. They've got excellent food, and my parents said it's so good. That's a definite plus. My dad's social worker says a lot of the staff has been out there for lots of years and they're passionate about what they do. It takes special people again to do that job and do it with a smile, and I saw it many times. Somebody ran into the main entrance, so no one is allowed to go into the main door. You have to go around to the back of it right now. It's a bit inconvenient because my mother has a broken back and she's on a walker and a back brace. I drive around back and they allow me to drop her off."
