Absolutely no privacy. They have searched my room/drawers on more than one occasion without notice or reason. They have been totally non-responsive to such reasonable requests as keeping the bathroom stocked with toilet paper (I had to use paper towels again this morning). The breakfasts are good but the other meals are terrible (I have been speaking $13.00 or more everyday eating food to go from Torchy’s Tacos). The beds are terrible (like sleeping on a hammock). I will be moving out of here as soon as I can find a suitable apartment.

How often the sheets and bedding are changed. When my mother arrive the South Austin Hospital to this facility. The medics pull the covers back to put my mother in the bed. The linens look like poop and dried vomit 🤮 was on the bed sheets. What would help for others that will be coming there is to wash and change the linens and bedding for each new patient. Covid is still here. I was in a total uproar by the nasty bedding I saw. Also hire people who can read well and know what patient is receiving what food trays. My mothers tray was giving to the women in the bed next to hers by the deliver not paying close attention to. When she realizes she gave it to the wrong person and say it on her tray. She ask me did we still want . Again Covid is still here. Very dumb question to ask some one has already open the Styrofoam tray up and breath on the food.

For about nine years I have gone to Southpark Meadows as a volunteer to play music for the patients there. The patients always seem excited about the show and staff is helpful. From the listings I have seen, it looks like many activities are scheduled and attended. Patients at Southpark Meadows appear well taken care of and the staff seems to be genuinely concerned about their wellbeing.

This is a very nice looking facility the food provided and the kitchen staff were very good at their job most of the workforce I encountered were respectful and helpful but not all were working as a team there seemed to be a small disconnect that is seriously affecting this business The facility has a great therapy room and all equipment required there was a problem in communication here too but I could see that were working to overcome the problem I came in and I hid a bed that had to be cranked to the different positions which was not appropriate f por such a nice facility got it replaced with a not too much improved version of an automatic operated bed I got a wheelchair that several employees noticed had bad brakes and a broken foot rest I had one of the therapist replace the foot rest with a less broken footrest but not the chair I forgot about the brakes and when the van came to pick me up to dr visit it rolled back and scared the driver perhaps a team could be assigned to check walkers wheelchairs ext for safety The only big problem that I believe need improvement is shift pass down communications improvement on passdowns and your medication logs I was prescribed controlled meds every 4 hours but no matter how long I was hers they never came less than one hour later I missed many of my pain pills wondering if they were stealing them there should be some sort of audit to control the count actually given to the patient is faclity s has all the proper teams to make a great faclity but they lack unity somewhere each blames the other for the problems bit the problem is not solved This could be a 5 star faclity but small important things that get overlooked drag this facility down

As a concerned and dedicated child, I want to share my experience with this place. My father was not looked after as much as I would have liked, even after multiple requests for bed fall alarms, no one made an effort to get one or always had an excuse. My dad had a terrible unsupervised fall that culminated after a month in surgery as a result. Which is traumatic and disturbing. I feel like this place was disorganized and no one acted promptly to requests on my father's behalf. There seemed to be miscommunication between doctors whom we never met and nurses, therapists, and other staff. They often did not share pertinent information with me, even though I am his representative, maybe this was partly due to the lack of communication. This place may need time to build a solid staff, but maybe they should hire more people too. During the day it is busy with people bustling about trying to get in therapy and activities, or it is just noisy. It seems like there are not enough people on some wings, and there are so many patients. But at night, there is almost no one there, and nurses/cna's are covering two or more wings and there are just not enough people to attend to disturbances and accidents with so many patient residents. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place initially. There was hardly any sufficient way of knowing what we were getting ourselves into at first. The hospital had recommended this place! But after experiencing it, I would say that if you are active and concerned about the well being of whomever the loved one is that ends up here, then it is best to remove them from this place, because a lack of communication and organization can lead to mistakes and negligence.

My mother suffers from dementia and received inadequate care at Southpark when she was admitted after breaking her hip. My brother and I made repeated requests for a non-restraining bed alarm to be placed on her bed, as my mother could not remember that she had broken her hip and we found her standing once on a visit. We even received a call one night from a nurse stating that my mother had fallen. In spite of this, our requests for a bed alarm were denied by the head nurse and the Administrator.The head nurse replied that she could not place such an alarm on the bed because it is considered a "restraint" (even though the alarm does not restrain the patient from moving, but merely alerts staff if they get out of bed). The nurse only relented after my brother, once again, found my Mom standing in her room. It took a full week, and a fall, before they finally placed the alarm on her bed. This facility is grossly understaffed and administrators are resistant to providing adequate care.
