Nursing Home Communities in Dripping Springs, TX

"Longhorn Village would probably be my top recommendation for an assisted living community in Austin. It was developed as part of the Ex-Students Association of The University of Texas. As a result of the college connection, Longhorn's staff is very proactive, involved and hands-on. The community is beautiful, large and upscale. It's located close to the University of Texas golf club, Lake Travis, and sits inside the pricey, planned community of Steiner Ranch. Housing units are spacious and very beautiful with apartments or stand-alone villas. As far as dining goes, I thought the food was great. Residents have access to alumni benefits (due to the university connection) - such as discounts on university classes, access to the university library, and discounts on alumni group travel to football games. You don't need transportation at Longhorn since they have a regularly scheduled bus that takes residents to shopping, events, downtown, and the UT Performing Arts Center. They have separate sections for assisted living including one for memory care (Alzheimers), and another section for skilled nursing. I highly recommend Longhorn Village if you're looking for an upscale community with great care and amenities. "

"I had lunch with my friend here and the food was good. It was set up like a hotel. It was a seated dining and you would order from a menu. It was a very nice place and the staff in the front desk and the restaurant seemed fine. "

"The Villa at Marbridge has a program which helps people who are memory retarded or handicapped, and they stressed on that. They treated my mom so good. They had people playing guitars and singing with the people, and I thought this is the life and not just letting the people line up down the hall. It was the best, and it was close to home. What made it good was the people who cared. My mom said the food was OK. "

"When we first signed my father into this facility the office staff were very helpful and eager to assist us with anything we needed. Unfortunately, after my father left this facility they weren't as happy to work with us on payment for his care during his stay. The staff who worked directly with the residents were another story. My father had terrible memory problems at the time and he would know people one time and forget them at others. He remembered the kind people who helped him here and I even took him back once to visit them once before he passed away. The facility is clean and the rooms are homelike. Around the holidays the staff decorate the hallways and residents' doors to make them feel more at home. The facility is secure and they have someone sitting at a welcome desk right next to the front door to make sure residents don't leave without letting someone know. You have to sign in and out and write down who you're there to visit. The grounds are well kept and the residents have relatively large windows so there is plenty of light in their rooms if they want to open the drapes. Overall I was pleased with my father's stay in Regency Village Care Center "

"I was a recovery resident for 4 months. It was a wonderful experience. I will be back for more advanced out-patient therapy in a few months. Most likely, I will return to therapy in May or June 2020. I give my love to the residents and to their loving families. But I also give a big hand and thumbs up to the staff members of West Oaks. I appreciate the kindness of the people who are a part of West Oaks. "

"I think I had a lot of good therapy at Brodie Ranch Nursing & Rehab Center. The therapists and the workers would come every day and work with me. I got my medicine on time. I tried to go back there but found out that people were having changes with the staff right now and so the personnel who had been in charge didn't call me back unless they did and I didn't recognize the number. The staff, like the nurses and assistants, were really good but there would be times when I would need a shower and ask if I could get in the shower, I would get one but then nobody would show back up. I didn't like that. That was just a little assistance, but basically when I needed my medicine or whatever, I got everything. Those six months were good, that's why they were able to let me go. They thought that I was doing rather better than a lot of the other people. One other reason that I was told to leave was because there was some difference of opinion about my finances and my check, but other than that, it was good. Our breakfast was cold by the time we got it because they had four different sections there. It was about the same thing every day like eggs and maybe oatmeal. It was the same meal with a slice of bacon and that was it. To me, it's a nice facility. The one activity that they had basically for me was bingo. They said they have activities together for the seniors like playing some kind of basketball with a balloon or sitting in the dining room and watching TV, but the only activity I liked to do was to sit outside."

"My husband was here, and I thought it was fine. However, my husband didn't like any nursing home. We chose them because it was located here -- a mile from the house. They were good and appeared to be very clean. He had his own room. The personnel were very friendly, very nice, and easy to deal with."

"The care and respect that the staff showed my Sister while she was in hospice was so impressive. Such lovely people doing good work. There were CNA's that would check on her even if they were not assigned to her wing. It's not a new place or a fancy place but the residents all seem happy. They have their own community. "

"Mom was at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Kyle for rehab, and our overall experience was good. It was clean. The staff was great. The rooms were OK. The food was good. The dining area was OK. The staff was very friendly, very nice, and very attentive to my mom."

"Southpark Meadows was clean. They just didn't seem to care a lot about the patients. They were not attentive. I asked when they were going to change my mother, and the staff said to let her finish what she's doing. Five minutes later, I looked out in the hall and she was sitting down eating. She seemed irritated when I reminded her that she was going to come help. The rooms were OK, and the facilities were pretty good. The night shift seemed to be busy watching TV, eating, and visiting each other. They need to be more attentive to the needs of the people, at least in the nursing facility section. They need to shorten their response time when the patients ask for help."

"My wife is doing well at Onion Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They seem to watch the people a lot more and spend more time with the patients. The room has two bedrooms, nice closets, and chest drawers that come with it. It's clean, and the walls are painted. They have a big dayroom and access to an outside closed-in area. I tried their food last Friday and it wasn't bad, it was okay. It's a nice facility. The staff is great. They say hi to you all the time, and they're always there."

"For about nine years I have gone to Southpark Meadows as a volunteer to play music for the patients there. The patients always seem excited about the show and staff is helpful. From the listings I have seen, it looks like many activities are scheduled and attended. Patients at Southpark Meadows appear well taken care of and the staff seems to be genuinely concerned about their wellbeing. "

"Our son Michael was accepted as a patient three months ago. We have been very pleased with the care he has received. The Doctor, Nurses, and Staff have been very attentive to all his needs. Thank You . "

"My wife was here and had a wonderful stay. We were down stairs in a private room. The techs were so kind and helpful. Although her stay was short I am glad that it made the bridge between the hospital and home that much easier. Nobody wants to need rehab and care but this was a great place to get it."
