"My in-laws moved in here. I like the fact that it didn't have as many units as some of the other places. They're on the first floor, which is very convenient. It is very close to the dining room where they can have all-day dining. I know that their meal service is great. They have a beauty salon, a barber shop, a media room for movies, and a small library. The only thing that kind of detracted it was the carpeting in the halls. Other than that, there's nothing else. The place is very, very clean, and the staff is wonderful."

"Reunion Court of Clear Lake just seemed like a convenient location for me and my mom, close to where we live, and it seemed clean and well-organized. The staff were friendly. They have a one bedroom. They did show a studio, but we weren't interested. They seemed like they had organized activities for the folks. One of the things that was kind of restricting was the meal times that had to be designated. I think there was like a one-hour or maybe an hour and a half or two-hour window of time if you missed your meals that time and there was no meal. We saw the lunchroom area and they did have a salon."

"The Park At Bay Area was one of the top places for me. They might need to have a few more employees, but other than that, it was very nice. I toured both assisted living and memory care and it was very well maintained and clean. It smelled fresh and the staff was very welcoming. The lady who gave the tour was very, very nice and was very helpful in explaining everything. The rooms were very spacious and very well maintained. They had just finished activities when I got there and I saw some of their paintings and different things that they had done. Their dining area was very pleasant and inviting, too."

"I chose here for my husband, because they had a memory care and it was an established place where people are happy. What I liked the best about it is the caregivers. They are caring, loving, and they take good care of the residents. They have good activities, but there's just not enough of them. The facilities are very nice, and they have very good food. It's also the closest one to me, and it's right by a hospital."

"Can’t say enough about the amazing level of care these wonderful staff provided our dear mother who lived at the residence the final year of her life. Mom had suffered strokes and needed enhanced attentiveness that our family couldn’t provide. We toured the facility and were immediately impressed and felt at ease. After she was accepted we always felt peace of mind knowing that she was cared for by the staff the same as they would take care of their own."

"My husband moved into Angels Landing Residential Care Homes. One of the things that impressed me was that she came to the house to meet us. She wanted to meet my husband, and she called before letting me know that I did not need to worry. They were going to take care of my husband. A lot of times, people don't hear you. I did not get the feeling that it was a financial reason for her concern. I sensed her authenticity, integrity, and dignity. His living space was impeccably pristine. It was suggested that no family members come for 30 days in order to give my husband a chance to acclimate to a new environment, and I thought that was just really impeccably on point. I've experienced good customer service there."

"I am impressed and grateful at the effort that Sharon puts in to making sure her residents get to their medical appointments. Sharon calls the medical providers to make appointments and brings them to the medical facilities. She keeps track of people's treatment plans and follow up appointments. Sharon is also attentive to making sure patients take their prescribed medication. "

"We chose Inspired Senior Living because of the people and the reputation. It's beautiful, bright, fresh, caring, and very well appointed. They have good staff. I have not moved my in-laws in yet, but the tour was beautiful. I personally want to live there myself. They have a fishing pond and a pool, which has water therapy in it. They have a tiki bar, a movie theater, a beauty salon, a barbershop, a pool room, a card room, a game room, and a coffee cafe. They have a chef on staff, too. It is not just three square meals a day; you can eat whenever you want from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The food was fantastic."

"We place my mother at Optimum Personal Care. She has been there since September. We chose it because it is well staffed. The ratio is 5-to-1. It is very clean and has no odor whatsoever. The people are very nice and seem to be fit for the kind of work that they are doing. They are very attentive to the clients. They just do an excellent job. I have never seen a place run so well. The other reason is that it is small. They have two houses and/or buildings, and I think the maximum number in the one she is in is 10. So, there is a large living room area, and then there are rooms around that area. So, if she has a need, she can just speak loudly; even though she wears a device around her neck, she will be able to get the attention that she needs. We like that rather than a large place. "

"Belmont - Houston, has been a very loving and attentive facility. The apartment sizes vary according to your need. The two factors that weighed the most for my choices were the food and activities. I did not want my parents to live in a facility that made meals for the masses. Belmont's "Josephine's Kitchen" reminds me of going to a cafeteria. You can order off of a menu and have what you are hungry for instead of eating a meal that is forced on you. There are specific eating times and the floor nurses, called Pals, assist to make sure everyone gets to the dining room to eat. Also, I wanted my parents to have quality activities in there lives, given their limitations. Balmont has musicians that are great, come and visit on a regular basis. There is wine and cheese one day a week. Water color classes, movie nights and exercise classes. They go out and eat once a month at a local restaurant. The nurses of the facility are fantastic. It takes someone with a real gift to work with aged people all day long. They are gentle, loving and respectful of the residents. There is also advanced dimensia care in the form of Adult Day Care and also a secured area for those in advanced stages. "

"I visited The Village of Southampton about six weeks ago. I liked the fact that they had three levels of care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's all in one building. It's a high-rise building. They had activities for the people who live there. Everything was provided. They give you a list of activities for the whole month. Everything looked perfect. Everything was perfect. I saw an apartment, the dining room, the different rooms where they have activities, and I saw the vehicle that carries the people wherever they want to go. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seem to be happy there. The staff who showed me around was very professional. I didn't try the food and seeing the menus, it looked very good. And they will take care of special diets."

"The Reserve at First Colony's assisted living was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The apartments were quiet and nice. A little bit isolated, but they were okay. The staff who toured me was very nice and very accommodating. The dining area was nice, clean, and spacious. It was a pretty friendly environment too. They have a library and a place for exercise. They also have a really nice area for the residents to just socialize."

"Com for Care Assisted Living is small, but they're more focused on the patients. My mom has been there for a week now. The staff members are great. My mom speaks Spanish mostly, and the staff speaks Spanish, which is a plus for my mom. Their food is all home-cooked. It's like a house, not like a big facility. They're limited in there. However, I'm really happy with it. They have a little patio where they can sit outside. From the back, they have a backyard, too."

"We are at MorningStar at River Oaks. I'm very pleased with it. I'm quite happy with being here. I don't have any real complaints here. We've only been here about six weeks, so we are just getting oriented. I think the staff members are excellent. They're very attentive and well-trained. The food is very good. The building is first class. It has only been open about a year and a half, so it's top-of-the-line. In terms of activities, they have a daily program of things that we can attend. They provide quite a bit of support if you need it medically. It seems like they have a lot of attention without having to be like to have access to a pharmacy if you want. They have pretty much everything I can think of."

"We visited Tender Care Assisted Living. The guy that runs it was nice. All the tenants looked like they were being taken care of to me. I toured two of their houses and both houses were decent and clean. The guy made time for me. There's a backyard and a patio area. I didn't see any activity, but whatever the lady was cooking, it smelled good. The staff was nice. I noticed that they have maglocks on the door to where the tenants can't walk out the door. That was a plus for Tender Care right there."

"The Village of River Oaks gave me an extensive tour of the memory care area. I got to see the residents out in the common areas. I talked to a few staff members, and I saw the rooms. Overall, it's very good. They limit their memory care to 35 residents, which is at the top end of what I was comfortable with. A couple of the residents there were very nice. They stopped and talked with me. Everybody seemed very happy to be there for sure. The facility itself was on par with the other places I visited. It had a small outside area. It had a large common area for the residents. It also had a salon. There's not a lot of ground space. However, everybody seemed pleasant. The staff members I talked to were fine."
