"We have chosen Reunion Court of Clear Lake for my mom. We toured it. The facility was nice. The people were nice. They have all the standard stuff, and lots of medical staff present. The facility was clean. The layouts are standard. They have studios and one-bedroom apartments. They have on-site memory care in case that becomes a need later."

"Sodalis Texas City was a very nice place. It was clean and the people were friendly. The price was just right. I liked that it had lots of choices of activities and things to do and it wasn't too far away from where we live. Beth was wonderful. She gave us a tour and was very nice. All the staff that she introduced us to were very friendly. The facility smelled nice. The size of the rooms was perfect."

"The Park At Bay Area was pretty nice. It was an impressive walkthrough. They have so many different sections in there, plus the living section toward the back end was more like your own private apartment kind of situation. They said it's set up for couples if they wanna come. It's like maybe five on each side of a walkway, and it was very nice. They had an outdoor seating area for them. I was very impressed with that one, plus it's close to where we are. It would be easy to visit. It was great. I met with the manager or head person and a worker who was behind the desk, and then they gave me a tour at that time. My interest is the cleanliness of the place, the way the staff might interact with the residents there, and I was impressed with everything."

"We visited the assisted living facility of The Reserve at Pasadena. They're a very clean facility. The decorations that they have, as far as the whole building itself, look like a hotel instead of a nursing home. The rooms were very nice. The nurses were nice, and the people seemed happy. They were all sitting in the kitchen eating, and it was very nice. I like that my father would have a private room for himself there with his own shower, and he can control his air conditioning, because he gets cold and then he gets hot. I really like the whole place in general. They have a hands-on baking class where they can all purchase a plate and cook whatever they want. They have bingo nights, movie nights, and all kinds of activities. The person who gave the tour was very nice and respectful. She asked me if there was anything that I wanted to ask about, and she answered every question. She was very nice to the people who were there, and they all seemed to know her. There were hugs, and it's like they're one big family. They were in the process of eating lunch, and she said we were welcome to sit there and eat if we wanted to. She said they have a chef who works there, and he prepares gourmet meals for them. He used to work for a hotel, and they hired him there. He's been cooking for them for 20 years."

"I toured Everywhere Is Home Residential Assisted Living. I was kind of skeptical about it because when I drove up, it was just like a regular house. When I entered it, it was very clean. The man who assisted me was the one who owns and runs the place. He has a few nurses who work there, and they are only supposed to have about 7 residents at a time. It can hold up to 8, but he just prefers to leave it at 7, and he puts two people in one bedroom. The place was nice and didn't seem to be that big. It's just a normal home with a kitchen and a bathroom that they remodel so they could put an actual wheelchair in them to bathe the residents. You have privacy when the door is closed, but the bathroom itself is all open. The owner was a very helpful person and really wanted to work with me, but it was out-of-pocket pay and more than I could afford. The people who were there were more like towards the end of life, to me. It's like hospice care, in a way. That's the kind of image I had about this facility. It was a nice place for somebody who needs that type of care. The physical appearance of the facility was just okay. It had beds, a TV, a dining table, and a little living room."

"I was pleased with Anderson Independent Home, the owner, and what she had to offer my parents. I was impressed with the facility. She's a registered nurse and that impressed me. She did a good job. The property was well maintained. The atmosphere was very, very homey, welcoming, inviting, and pleasant. The accommodations seemed perfect for my parents. They will be able to share a room, and it's already set up. We had an extensive conversation about her background in nursing and we're confident that she'll be able to provide the services my dad needs and my mom as well. His interaction with the people is paramount to helping him with his memory. I don't know if it's going to help him recall, but he needs interaction with other people other than my mom, so it's really good. The rooms were perfect. The setup was perfect. Everything's clean and organized. I was truly impressed compared to where they are right now. They will have their own private suite, a modern bathroom, the furniture is well maintained, and everything is matching. TV was provided, and wi-fi was provided. The residence was nice and the outdoor patio and the backyard was very calming. I thought that was great, especially since my dad has dementia. He's an outdoor type of person, but I have to worry about him wandering off and it appears to be very safe there. I was extremely pleased with the location. If I had to make a decision today, I would choose Anderson Independent Home. The owner and another person were there. It's a very low ratio, which I like. She only has two other clients there, which would make me feel comfortable because there will be enough staff involved to give my parents the attention that they need. I was impressed. I think the food will be fine because this is a small community and the owner is a registered nurse and is a caring person. We had a very extensive conversation about her history in nursing and it made me feel comfortable that I know she would take care of my parents. Everything was immaculate. Everything was perfectly set up. It doesn't feel like an institution. It feels like home. I was extremely impressed with the layout. The dining area looked like what it would be at my mom's home, and my mom's very organized. It's very homey. I was impressed."

"My aunt moved to Laurel Glen at Sugar Land. It's a beautiful facility. The staff was wonderful and the price was good. Her apartment is beautiful, clean, and very modern. They have a beautiful outdoor area, a swimming pool, a workout room, and very nice community areas."

"The place that I like the best down here is the Tradition-Buffalo Speedway. I like all of their amenities. The staff who toured us were very welcoming, very informative, and very helpful. I tried their food, and it's excellent. There's an indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, an indoor courtyard, and balconies if you're not on the ground floor. There are several facilities for eating, like a café and formal dining. There's also indoor parking. It's just wonderful."

"The rooms are nice and adequate for our loved ones needs. The food seems agreeable to the needs. Fruit of some kind would be a nice, healthy addition. We cannot say enough kind words to describe how helpful, loving and supported we feel by every staff member we have encountered here - specifically Andrea who works 6 tasks simultaneously at times with a smile!"

"My dad was at Optimum Personal Care and they did a wonderful job. A friend referred me to this place. They have great staff who are very loving and caring. I don’t know what I would have done without them. They met his medical and dietary needs and at the same time makes him comfortable. This place was a good fit for us to have my dad stay at Optimum Personal Care. He was in a room and it was a good sized one. "

"The Village of Meyerland was nice. My uncle enjoyed that one. Depending on what side you were on, there were rooms with a view that looked out over Brays Bayou. He liked the view, but he didn't like the fact that the only way he could see it was to be up high. The facility was great. The people were good. At the time, the rooms that they had available that would accommodate his needs were on the upper levels, and he wasn't comfortable with being up that high. We looked at one-bedroom apartments. The parking was fine."

"I toured Belmont Village West University. It was a very nice place, and it seemed to have a lot of great activities for the residents. It unfortunately was out of the range of distance that my client would want to go. It was a little too far. However, if I knew somebody in that area, I would tell them to look into it. The model room was very nice. It had a very nice large bathroom and shower area. It's just a bedroom-type setting. I didn't interact with a lot of the staff members, but everyone seemed very pleasant. Everyone greeted me, which makes a difference."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."
