"My husband was at The Delaney at South Shore. He was in memory care for three-and-a-half years. It was better than average, but not great. The staff there was lacking. We went through the COVID thing, and the staff was changing all the time. That was one of the biggest problems I had, although they were very nice. The staff was always in training, so they didn't know as much. As they stayed on longer, they got better, of course. The food was wonderful. The chef there was great. The memory care got the same food as the regular independent and assisted living. They all ate the same food. The facility was very pretty and very clean. It was so hard because, during COVID, it was so crazy. They couldn't do a lot of things. When I first went in there, it was pre-COVID, and they were doing a lot of things with the patients. When COVID came, everything came to a halt, and this year, they're just starting back doing little extra things for them. They had music. They had somebody come in and sing for them, and they would do that maybe twice a month or three times a month. The activities were not poor but below average. Value for money was good. They were a little on the high side."

"I highly recommend Apex Oaks. It is awesome. Mom is just getting extremely good care. They're constantly checking on her and helping her (as she needs a lot of help). The place is clean. It's beautiful and they do a lot of activities with the memory care residents. They do some painting and gardening. They also take them out and let them plant flowers. She has a bird feeder outside her window and she just does all kinds of things to keep herself active. The nursing staff and everyone there is just wonderful. She likes all of them. The food's good, too. They have a nice big outdoor area. So, when the weather's nice, they can go out there and sit. That's where they have little planter boxes to plant flowers. On Friday, one of the ladies sent me pictures of my mom out there planting flowers. Her room only has one room, but it's got a nice-sized bathroom and she's happy with it. Every time I talk to her, she tells me how happy she is to be there. So, our experience has been great."

"I toured The Park At Bay Area for my parents, and it was awesome. The lady who gave me the tour was named Melissa. She was very friendly and professional, and she gave me a good tour. She explained to me everything about how things works there. The room looked suitable, clean, all new, and fresh. The location is ideal for relatives to visit."

"We visited the assisted living facility of The Reserve at Pasadena. They're a very clean facility. The decorations that they have, as far as the whole building itself, look like a hotel instead of a nursing home. The rooms were very nice. The nurses were nice, and the people seemed happy. They were all sitting in the kitchen eating, and it was very nice. I like that my father would have a private room for himself there with his own shower, and he can control his air conditioning, because he gets cold and then he gets hot. I really like the whole place in general. They have a hands-on baking class where they can all purchase a plate and cook whatever they want. They have bingo nights, movie nights, and all kinds of activities. The person who gave the tour was very nice and respectful. She asked me if there was anything that I wanted to ask about, and she answered every question. She was very nice to the people who were there, and they all seemed to know her. There were hugs, and it's like they're one big family. They were in the process of eating lunch, and she said we were welcome to sit there and eat if we wanted to. She said they have a chef who works there, and he prepares gourmet meals for them. He used to work for a hotel, and they hired him there. He's been cooking for them for 20 years."

"The Reserve at Pearland has an awesome nurse. The facility looked lovely. The people there were very friendly and welcoming. They have lots of things to do. It was a beautiful place, but their staff was what really stood out for me. They were so friendly. They've reached out to me and they've offered to do things. They were wonderful. Crystal was the name of the nurse and she was fabulous. Chloe was the one taking us around and she was really good, too. They've got good-sized rooms. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Everybody was very nice. If they saw us, they introduced themselves, so I couldn't ask for better."

"Everywhere Is Home is truly like home for your loved one. The staff is very caring and treat their residents like family. My husband grew to love each and every one of the staff and enjoyed having some of their children come in and even call him “Grandpa” at his request. He loved to interact with the kids. The staff would get him up and put him in the common area where he could watch them cook and of course, offer his ideas. He would often join in singing with one of the caretakers and they would watch his favorite shows together. At holidays, they always threw a party for the residents and their family with great food and gifts all around depending on the occasion. The owner is absolutely wonderful, easy to work with, very caring and he is good to the residents and staff as well. It was always very reassuring to know that the owner was there as well as each of the staff members. I never worried about my husband while he was there. It was a joy to deal with the people there and I too felt like family and still do."

"Orchard Park at Southfork was a very nice place. They were farther away, but the staff was very friendly. They took us on a tour and tried to be as accommodating as they could. The building was very clean and nice. The layout of the room was also accommodating and good. They gave us little cups with crackers and little welcome signs and were very friendly."

"Autumn Leaves was the first one we visited, and it was fantastic, but a little too pricey for us. It was very nice, very professional, and had a lot going for the residents. A lot of activities, a lot for the memory care residents who needed it. They had a schedule, and that’s what the Alzheimer’s -- which my mother has now definitely been diagnosed with -- need. They need a routine; they need a schedule. That is what this type of people need, and that is what this place offered. They also offered, if your family wanted to come in and have private time or a private party, the facility for that. "

"I toured for my grandma. The room was very clean. You pretty much have to kind of try to decorate it how she's at home so it won't be a drastic change. That's what they told me. The staff explained everything to me."

"The Tradition is a beautiful setting for our Mother and she has come to feel that it is her new home. She has stabilized during her two and a half years on the Memory Care Unit and my family is grateful for that. She has received good medical support during a few challenging times. The Directors of Nursing Shay and Stephanie have been responsive to both my family and my mother during this time that she has been in Memory Care. I truly know that they genuinely work diligently every day to provide for the residents at Tradition and I can speak on behalf of my own mother and say that that has made difference for the better for her during this time in her life. Shay also referred us to an excellent private care practitioner in Houston which has also been helpful beyond words which led to our mothers successful recovery. The nursing directors have been clear about what our mother has needed and were correct. They knew the limitations of what can be provided , they both told us their assessment for her care needs , made recommendations for a sitter and our family responded. Our mom benefitted. Food is very good. Environment is clean and attractive. Staff are professional and kind. My only recommendation for the Tradition administration If feasible would be to hire more caregivers. A sitter is an additional charge. A sitter also keeps mom safe due to her advancing memory loss. More staff would help out on this matter. Overall, I give the staff and facility high marks. Thankyou."

"We went to see Belmont Village Senior Living West University. It was very pricey. They told me that it was like five thousand dollars. We couldn't afford it, but out of all the places we saw, that was the other one that was very active. The apartments were a lot smaller than the other place for what you're paying. They had a little balcony where the seniors could go sit outside. A balcony with, chairs, umbrellas, everything, and they told us there were walking paths, but we didn't see any. They had a library, a beauty shop. They took pride in the veterans, and they have pictures of them. They had huge professional portraits of each of their residents that was a veteran, that had like a plaque, and said where they had served and everything. That was cool. I thought that was a very nice touch to it because we hadn't seen another place that was like that. We saw a poker table, a pool table, we saw that they had other activities. Even if because of COVID, they can't get out and go to places, their bus driver would take them on like scenic drives and they would just at least be able to get out and drive around in the bus and kind of give them a little tour of Houston and take them along the bayous and things like that."

"I went to The Village of Meyerland. That was very informative. They showed me their private and semi-private units. They were trying to sell me a unit. But the lady that I talked to was asking questions, some that I could answer, some that I couldn't, like what was my mother's financial situation. All the rooms are unfurnished. She said they have an elevator where we can move in furniture, and I said my mom doesn't have much furniture anymore because we got rid of most of it when we sold the house. However, the lady was very pleasant. The common areas were clean. She showed me their chapel and a TV room. She showed me their PT room and their dining room. They have snacks that they put out for their residents. The place was very clean and well-kept."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."
