"My husband was at The Delaney at South Shore. He was in memory care for three-and-a-half years. It was better than average, but not great. The staff there was lacking. We went through the COVID thing, and the staff was changing all the time. That was one of the biggest problems I had, although they were very nice. The staff was always in training, so they didn't know as much. As they stayed on longer, they got better, of course. The food was wonderful. The chef there was great. The memory care got the same food as the regular independent and assisted living. They all ate the same food. The facility was very pretty and very clean. It was so hard because, during COVID, it was so crazy. They couldn't do a lot of things. When I first went in there, it was pre-COVID, and they were doing a lot of things with the patients. When COVID came, everything came to a halt, and this year, they're just starting back doing little extra things for them. They had music. They had somebody come in and sing for them, and they would do that maybe twice a month or three times a month. The activities were not poor but below average. Value for money was good. They were a little on the high side."

"I highly recommend Apex Oaks. It is awesome. Mom is just getting extremely good care. They're constantly checking on her and helping her (as she needs a lot of help). The place is clean. It's beautiful and they do a lot of activities with the memory care residents. They do some painting and gardening. They also take them out and let them plant flowers. She has a bird feeder outside her window and she just does all kinds of things to keep herself active. The nursing staff and everyone there is just wonderful. She likes all of them. The food's good, too. They have a nice big outdoor area. So, when the weather's nice, they can go out there and sit. That's where they have little planter boxes to plant flowers. On Friday, one of the ladies sent me pictures of my mom out there planting flowers. Her room only has one room, but it's got a nice-sized bathroom and she's happy with it. Every time I talk to her, she tells me how happy she is to be there. So, our experience has been great."

"I toured The Park At Bay Area for my parents, and it was awesome. The lady who gave me the tour was named Melissa. She was very friendly and professional, and she gave me a good tour. She explained to me everything about how things works there. The room looked suitable, clean, all new, and fresh. The location is ideal for relatives to visit."

"We visited the assisted living facility. They're a very clean facility. The decorations that they have, as far as the whole building itself, look like a hotel instead of a nursing home. The rooms were very nice. The nurses were nice, and the people seemed happy. They were all sitting in the kitchen eating, and it was very nice. I like that my father would have a private room for himself there with his own shower, and he can control his air conditioning, because he gets cold and then he gets hot. I really like the whole place in general. They have a hands-on baking class where they can all purchase a plate and cook whatever they want. They have bingo nights, movie nights, and all kinds of activities. The person who gave the tour was very nice and respectful. She asked me if there was anything that I wanted to ask about, and she answered every question. She was very nice to the people who were there, and they all seemed to know her. There were hugs, and it's like they're one big family. They were in the process of eating lunch, and she said we were welcome to sit there and eat if we wanted to. She said they have a chef who works there, and he prepares gourmet meals for them. He used to work for a hotel, and they hired him there. He's been cooking for them for 20 years."

"Everywhere Is Home is truly like home for your loved one. The staff is very caring and treat their residents like family. My husband grew to love each and every one of the staff and enjoyed having some of their children come in and even call him “Grandpa” at his request. He loved to interact with the kids. The staff would get him up and put him in the common area where he could watch them cook and of course, offer his ideas. He would often join in singing with one of the caretakers and they would watch his favorite shows together. At holidays, they always threw a party for the residents and their family with great food and gifts all around depending on the occasion. The owner is absolutely wonderful, easy to work with, very caring and he is good to the residents and staff as well. It was always very reassuring to know that the owner was there as well as each of the staff members. I never worried about my husband while he was there. It was a joy to deal with the people there and I too felt like family and still do."

"Autumn Leaves was the first one we visited, and it was fantastic, but a little too pricey for us. It was very nice, very professional, and had a lot going for the residents. A lot of activities, a lot for the memory care residents who needed it. They had a schedule, and that’s what the Alzheimer’s -- which my mother has now definitely been diagnosed with -- need. They need a routine; they need a schedule. That is what this type of people need, and that is what this place offered. They also offered, if your family wanted to come in and have private time or a private party, the facility for that. "

"I toured for my grandma. The room was very clean. You pretty much have to kind of try to decorate it how she's at home so it won't be a drastic change. That's what they told me. The staff explained everything to me."

"Belmont Village was beautiful. I was very impressed, but it's too far away from home, so we would never consider it. On all points, it was exemplary. You could just put a check mark all the way across. It was a wonderful place, but I would never consider it. It's too far away. "

"I went to The Village of Meyerland. That was very informative. They showed me their private and semi-private units. They were trying to sell me a unit. But the lady that I talked to was asking questions, some that I could answer, some that I couldn't, like what was my mother's financial situation. All the rooms are unfurnished. She said they have an elevator where we can move in furniture, and I said my mom doesn't have much furniture anymore because we got rid of most of it when we sold the house. However, the lady was very pleasant. The common areas were clean. She showed me their chapel and a TV room. She showed me their PT room and their dining room. They have snacks that they put out for their residents. The place was very clean and well-kept."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"The visit I made to The Gardens of Bellaire's memory care facility was exquisite. The place was beautiful. The lady who gave the tour was very informative. I also got to meet some of the people that were already living there, see some of their activities, the food menus, the area, and the sitting areas. She also told me that Lakewood Church comes up every Sunday, and they have a little worship service. It was very good, and I love the place. It was very inviting and just felt homey. It just felt more like a community. The tenants were really sweet and nice. The management does a lot to get everybody involved in activities like bingo and other stuff. The whole thing was just phenomenal. I was very impressed, especially since it was my first time going to an actual home. I met a lot of the staff, and they're very informative and very sweet. Just the way that I was invited in, I feel like I was a person living there. I didn't get a chance to eat, but the food smelled phenomenal, and the menu looked great. The cleanliness was awesome. The place is very simple, so you can't get lost. The elevator access is really good, the walkways are huge and wide, and the rooms are very nice. It's top tier."

"My 51 YO stepson, who suffered a mild stroke last year, has been a resident at Ms. Anderson's home for several months, It is a professionally managed, very well run facility, clean, good food and run in a homelike atmosphere. Ms. Anderson does an excellent job of dispensing the proper medications, and scheduling and transporting the patient to required doctors appointments. She keeps me informed and up to date on the medical condition of the resident, and doesn't hesitate to contact me about any of his specific needs. The home has met all my expectations, provides good value for the cost, and I feel quite comfortable leaving my stepson in Ms. Anderson's care."
