I visited The Delaney at South Shore. It's a little bit farther and there's quite a bit of traffic. The units seemed adequate. They were pleasant. The way it was decorated was very pleasant. The atmosphere was very friendly. The room smelled clean. It didn't have any bad smells like some of them can have. Everything was well kept up. It's a very pleasant place to visit. The menu looked very good, and they had choices like you could go with specific diets if needed.

We loved The Delaney at South Shore. The people that were working there were very nice. I enjoyed the tour. All the residents were very friendly and very nice. It's a very nice community. When things are right, that would be the place for me. They gave me a print of what was to be served as meals for that month and they also gave me a program of the tours that they took the residents on to, like different places during the week. It could be grocery stores like Randalls, H-E-B, and Kroger's. They also had different activities like book clubs and a large TV room. They have an exercise person, so if you want to exercise, you can get some of that. They're eager to help you and that's what impressed me. They're so outgoing and friendly. The residents I talked to said the chef was a five-star and they were impressed with their meals. That's impressive, too, because in most of the places you go to, the residents don't speak to you but they do. It was excellent.

I toured The Delaney at South Shore. The staff members were nice. It was a very nice and updated building, but it seemed more high-end and more expensive. It was geared more towards very independent individuals. It was nice but not for my aunt and not for somebody who needs a little more assistance. I saw two different apartments and they were very nice and very up-to-date. They have a nice indoor area, but they don't have much of an outdoor area. The staff was accommodating, too.

From the moment you walk into The Delaney at South Shore, you feel welcomed. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The facility is clean with a homey feel. Since moving Mom in to the Memory Care unit, she has thrived! Ann and her staff are so caring, compassionate and very astute as to what Mom needs to feel so comfortable. She loves her “little apartment “ as she calls her room. We are confident with her care at The Delaney.

My husband was at The Delaney at South Shore. He was in memory care for three-and-a-half years. It was better than average, but not great. The staff there was lacking. We went through the COVID thing, and the staff was changing all the time. That was one of the biggest problems I had, although they were very nice. The staff was always in training, so they didn't know as much. As they stayed on longer, they got better, of course. The food was wonderful. The chef there was great. The memory care got the same food as the regular independent and assisted living. They all ate the same food. The facility was very pretty and very clean. It was so hard because, during COVID, it was so crazy. They couldn't do a lot of things. When I first went in there, it was pre-COVID, and they were doing a lot of things with the patients. When COVID came, everything came to a halt, and this year, they're just starting back doing little extra things for them. They had music. They had somebody come in and sing for them, and they would do that maybe twice a month or three times a month. The activities were not poor but below average. Value for money was good. They were a little on the high side.

My parents recently moved into The Delaney at South Shore. Not only is it a lovely place on the outside, the people who work there (from initial visit to the dining staff & maintenance helpers) are even lovelier. All are so kind, patient, & helpful. My parents were reluctant to move but once their own furnishings were in place, they loved the apartment. I was given the opportunity to eat in the dining room more than once & was impressed with the meals offered. There are so many activities & events offered for their enjoyment...from fitness classes, a movie theater, craft room, misc. outings, to a hair & nail salon. After getting to know the caring staff, I can leave my parents knowing they are well cared for, happy, & will be making many new friends.

The location, the quality of the facility, and the services they offer are the reason why we have chosen The Delaney at South Shore League City, TX for my dad. I have not moved him in there yet, but it is in process. We were touring it for assisted living and the possibility of moving him from assisted living to independent living. The staff were wonderful. I have not tried their food, but a family member has and approved of it. In terms of amenities, they've got a variety of things for the different levels of care that they provide. They've got lots of spaces for residents to work and play. They offer a physical therapy type area that they can do therapy in, they have little libraries, and they have a little café. They've just got a variety of spaces so that you're not spending all your time in your apartment. With regards to location, it's close to restaurants and it's in the center of the community. It's in South Shore Harbor, which is a boating sailing community, and there's a nice hotel nearby. It's also probably within like 10 or 15 minutes of the nearest hospital.

The Delaney at South Shore was pretty much like the other place as far as the ratings go. There was nothing much different, except they didn't have a pool, and that's kind of a big thing for me. The staff was very courteous, kind, very knowledgeable, welcoming, and made me feel at home. They were excellent staff people. They have a lot of crafts and stuff going on. They have movies and a book club. It was very clean and very upkept.

The Delaney at South Shore was a fabulous place. It's pretty brand new, very open, and airy. Just going on the looks alone and the menus and everything else, it was extremely nice, but it was much too large for my in-laws. I had an appointment with them, but I was kept waiting for more than half an hour. They had a movie room, a library, transportation, and all kinds of activities.

I liked the looks of The Delaney at South Shore, but it was out of my daughter's mother-in-law's affordability. It was more than she could afford. Heather, the residency counselor, was very good, I liked her a lot. It was just an hour before lunch, and a few people were sitting around visiting with each other, but there wasn't much to see with respect to activities at the time. We walked through the dining area. I didn't look at their menu, but the whole place was beautiful and very clean. Heather was very professional, very friendly, and helpful.

My wife’s grandfather lives at the Delaney and and being reassured he receives such great care is peace of mind. There are so many times that the staff goes over and above! He brags about the food and recently on a day he was feeling down my wife received a picture from Director of Nursing having an ice cream cone with him. Not long ago when he had to spend some time in rehab my wife had to be out of town a few of the days he was there and one of the ladies that works at front desk even went to visit him at rehab after work. When the time comes for my Mom to seek senior care The Delaney will be my only stop for her!

My grandfather moved to the Delaney at South Shore Independent Living in 2019. In December of 2020 I made decision to transfer him to Assisted Living after a fall and what was diagnosed as mild stroke. Since he moved to Assisted Living he is like a new person. The care team all are so caring and attentive to his needs and I think it was a huge weight lifted from him that in turn has allowed him to be happier and healthier! Seeing the success and compassion of your team through your family members eyes and words is one of the greatest gifts as an operator in senior care. I feel blessed that my grandfather is living his best life at The Delaney South Shore.

Had a great experience when I toured this place with my mom. She enjoyed her visit with the other people that live there. The food looked really good and they have so many choices. Mom knows this is where she wants to live and we’re going back to choose her apartment in the next few weeks!

The Delaney at South Shore was beautiful. Everybody was nice and the facilities looked nice. It's certainly a luxury facility and the price reflects that. The lady was very knowledgeable, very nice, and helped us in any way. They showed us a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment and we saw basically what we wanted to have. They gave us a calendar of activities and they had everything going on, like some poker, painting, exercising, transportation to shopping or doctors, and all kinds of stuff. They have a courtyard, too.

We liked The Delaney at South Shore a lot. I think the place was all well cared for and we just felt like it would meet our needs. They had the largest apartment and the location was good. We met two ladies, and they were both very nice. The one that showed us around was new, so she wasn't quite as familiar as the other one. The other one just talked to us for a while. I wanted to take some pictures, and so she took my cell phone and said she would take it for me, but she probably didn't know how to use my cell phone because none of the pictures were there when I got home. So, I'm disappointed because I wanted to look at the pictures. I can remember that it's quite expensive, though, but we liked it best.

Our family couldn't be happier with the Memory Care staff. It is SO comforting to hear an aid tell me about my parents needs that says they know my parents as much, or more, than I do. They are an extension of our family. My parents love the staff and we love them. The nurses are excellent, skilled and caring. If I were superwoman, I'd care for my parents at home. However, 3 shifts of the loving Delaney staff does a much better job than I can do. The facility is beautiful, kept clean, bright and safe. Meals are good with a lot of variety. The rooms have big windows to provide lots of natural light and dark shades for going to bed early or sleeping in.

The Delaney at South Shore was really nice. The staff members were great. They were really friendly and they gave us a good tour, but they were $1,000 a month higher. The food was great, but it was a larger complex than what we wanted to move into. The facility seemed to be well taken care of and everybody was very accommodating. They were super nice.

My mother lives in independent living at the Delaney at South Shore. When she broke her leg, the staff really stepped up to make her comfortable and to assist in any way possible. Heidi helped me negotiate the ins and outs of Covid shots, coordinating with mother's hospital and physical therapy. Josie helped me manage getting mom back to the Delaney from the nursing care facility, and Dorothy helped mother get back into exercising. The surgeon at the hospital said that thanks to the exercise program at the Delaney, mother was in good physical shape for a 90-year-old and would probably not have any problems recovering and resuming her active lifestyle. Overall, the continued care for their clients and the quality of their service (the food is excellent, Marty), has been a relief to my sister and me. Caring for your parents is not easy, but The Delaney at South Shore has made it much easier for me and my sister.

The staff at The Delaney at South Shore is very helpful and very friendly. One of the reasons why we picked this facility is because they have balconies, and we're used to sit outside a lot. The dining area is very nice. We only had one meal there, and it was good. We have just been moving stuff in and out of there and haven't really spent any time there yet. They have a crafts room, bingo and game nights with dominoes and cards. However, they got long hallways between elevators.

My mother is happy at The Delaney at South Shore. She loves it. She's independent, but they offered for her to go to assisted over there. The staff is really nice. Everybody's nice. I eat there all the time. The food is excellent, and they make accommodations. If she can't come down, they'll bring her food up to her, and they don't charge her any extra. All the staff from the kitchen, the front desk, the maintenance people, everybody there is really nice and very helpful. She's probably gonna end up staying there and going to assisted because she does not want to leave. I can't say enough nice things about the facility. It's beautiful and well-done. The dinners are amazing. It's like gourmet dinners, they cook steak, and they give breakfast, and bring it to my mom's room. They have a very wide selection of things to eat. It's very clean. They have art classes, stretching, bingo, cards, something for everyone, and they make wreaths and flower arrangements. They have parties, but with Covid, they haven't been able to do that as much. Before Covid, they would have football parties, and pizza parties. It was a lot of fun. Her room is nice. It's a 1-bedroom, and she's got a balcony. I've never met people that worked as hard as these people do with all the people there. They're constantly doing stuff. They drive you anywhere, and they make accommodations.

I'm moving into The Delaney at South Shore. I like everything. It's fairly new, it's only 2 years old, and everybody is very welcoming. It's like a hotel and when you go into the main door, there are two different sliding doors. The lobby has very high ceilings, and it's like a hotel lobby. It's very spacious. There's a bistro where you can have a sandwich or coffee, and there are lots of little sitting areas with comfortable chairs, a fireplace on the right, and there's a formal dining room. If you go out the doors, there are gardens, flowers and rocking chairs. It's very lovely. The staff was wonderful, and she's still in touch with me. She's been so helpful and called me and gone out of her way to help me get ready to move. She's just delightful and very good. I haven't eaten in the dining room, but the sandwich I had was great.

Our Dad was a resident in the Independent living. He loved the facility. The staff was excellent. They were friendly, caring, compassionate and treated you like family. Our Dad loved living there. It opened up a new chapter of his life where he was able to socialize and meet new friends. He loved having dinner with his friends, the ice cream socials, in house singing groups, birthday parties and more all while maintaining his ability to come and go as he pleased. He still enjoyed his privacy in his own 1 bedroom apartment which was very nice. Thank you to the staff and Delaney friends for making our Dad feel special.

My mom is in independent living now at The Delaney at South Shore. It is excellent. Her apartment is beautiful. The staff members are very kind, very helpful, and welcoming. The food is good. I can't say much about the activities because they shut everything down due to the virus. It looks like a resort. Everything is very nice.

The only reason we didn't choose The Delaney at South Shore is because it involved elevators, and it was too large of a place to navigate for my mother-in-law. We didn't choose their memory care is because it is unaffordable. They have a very high price. Well, they actually have two memory care units, and the assisted living apartments are very nice. Our concern was my mother-in-law is going to eventually need memory care, so we need to make sure that that move is in the same building basically so it wouldn't be too much of a trauma for her and that it would be affordable. However, The Delaney didn't fit that bill. Yet, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the place was very clean. They had plenty of parking and the outside was nice.

My mom is very particular about aesthetics so where she will move into needed to be a nice place, and The Delaney at South Shore was very nice. The food is great and wonderful. They have a varied menu and it changes often and it's really good. Friday nights they usually have steak and seafood, like surf and turf, so it's kind of like their fanciest meal, but they have a lot of really good meals. There are groups doing painting and chair fitness.

The Delaney at South Shore is wonderful, fantastic and very new. I haven't done many activities but they have Sit and Be Fit, and every once in a while they have professional singers come in here. The food is fantastic, delicious, and wonderful. And the people that check on you to give you medicine on the assisted living side are great people. They are all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are wonderful. My little apartment here isn't very large, but it's very clean and practically new. The bathroom is wonderfully large, and made for people with wheelchairs. It's a studio, the bed is wonderful and I love the bed, and there's an ice maker. It's very attractive. The value for the money is great, it's not cheap but I think it's fantastic.

The Delaney at South Shore is an almost brand-new facility and my mother-in-law loves it. They have very friendly and professional staff. My mother-in-law is very pleased with it. We chose it because of location, its newness, and the feel of the place. They have a television screen that shows all the different activities and they can scroll through and see what's planned out. They have a wonderful activities director and they pretty much offer something for everyone.
