The Shores at Clear Lake

My husband fell and broke his hip at The Shores at Clear Lake, and he wasn't even in there a week. I have to give them a zero. I would never put my loved one there again. One of the things that attracted me was that it was very light and very airy. The residents could walk around, and there was an outdoor space where they could go and walk, open the door, and go out by themselves, and not have somebody be with them. My husband has a walker. He likes to be outside and listen to nature. Those are the things that appeal to me. However, their lack of staff, their lack of follow through and just being accountable for the residents didn't appeal to me. He's on life-threatening meds, and he usually gets them at breakfast. He wasn't there at breakfast, and nobody caught it. Nobody went to his room to check on him. My daughter came to see him, and he was soaked from the chest down to the floor in urine, and his shoes were soaking wet as well.

I was most impressed with The Shores at Clear Lake. I like the activities and its proximity to my home. I thought it was a very clean place. The staff was very friendly. They were very accommodating. That would have been the one I would have chosen for my husband if I had to put him in a facility. I looked at the menu and it looked very appetizing. I was very pleased with that one, and that would have been the one I chose. I talked to the sales representative. She was very friendly, very helpful, and followed up to check and make sure that things were going okay even though I said I didn't know if I was going to do it or not. I thought they were very helpful. The staff seemed pleasant with the people who were there. And the people there seemed very happy.

The Shores at Clear Lake was very nice. The big difference was they were a larger facility than what I was kind of looking for. The rooms and the staff were very nice though. They gave us a lot of information. I saw the dining area and they gave us a whole big packet of information, which included the food that they serve and the activities that they do. I visited the memory care.

My aunt has been here for 4 years she has a beautiful two bedroom you don't even know you are in an assisted living. I come and visit her quite often and it's always clean and smells nice in the hallways the people are always so happy and they know her very well today was her birthday and they put a bunch of balloons outside her door such a happy place for my aunt and I love coming to visit very happy environment.

My mother moved into The Shores in 2018 on the Assisted Living side, The rooms are nice and the facility is attractive. She stayed on the Assisted Living side until her memory failed 2 1/2 years later and she was moved to the Memory Care side. I visited about weekly and never saw the residents doing any activity except watching TV. The staff seems nice but regular training on interacting with memory care patients would be beneficial. My mother was moved to another facility after 2 1/2 months.
