The Best Assisted Living Communities in Brazoria County, TX

"We place my mother at Optimum Personal Care. She has been there since September. We chose it because it is well staffed. The ratio is 5-to-1. It is very clean and has no odor whatsoever. The people are very nice and seem to be fit for the kind of work that they are doing. They are very attentive to the clients. They just do an excellent job. I have never seen a place run so well. The other reason is that it is small. They have two houses and/or buildings, and I think the maximum number in the one she is in is 10. So, there is a large living room area, and then there are rooms around that area. So, if she has a need, she can just speak loudly; even though she wears a device around her neck, she will be able to get the attention that she needs. We like that rather than a large place. "

"I went to look here, but I couldn't afford it. I liked that it was very clean. I like that the tenants were all very cordial and friendly. The meals were wonderful. You had a selection every day. You weren't forced to eat the same things every day. They had wonderful food. They also had a very good activity director who kept you busy doing things that you didn't have a chance to start feeling sad or sorry for yourself or the condition that you were in. The staff was wonderful. Anything that you needed done, all you had to do was tell them. They were a good community. I wish that I had been able to get in there and stay there because it also had assisted living and memory care right there on the same property, just in different buildings. So as my illness progressed, I could have moved from one to the other without a problem."

"The Reserve at First Colony's assisted living was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The apartments were quiet and nice. A little bit isolated, but they were okay. The staff who toured me was very nice and very accommodating. The dining area was nice, clean, and spacious. It was a pretty friendly environment too. They have a library and a place for exercise. They also have a really nice area for the residents to just socialize."

"My mom is a resident of Carriage Inn - Lake Jackson. Her overall experience has been positive. She has enjoyed the community and the activities. Her room is nice-sized, it's a little dated but well-maintained. The residents enjoy the food, and they seem to have a good amount of choices. Their dining area is very pleasant. They have waiters, and they can choose where they sit. For activities, they have monthly gala nights, bingo, ice cream, popcorn games, and book clubs, and they also have weekly excursions to local sites. The best thing about this community I would say is the community spirit. They look out for one another and are very welcoming. Their staff are very warm and friendly."

"My husband moved into Angels Landing Residential Care Homes. One of the things that impressed me was that she came to the house to meet us. She wanted to meet my husband, and she called before letting me know that I did not need to worry. They were going to take care of my husband. A lot of times, people don't hear you. I did not get the feeling that it was a financial reason for her concern. I sensed her authenticity, integrity, and dignity. His living space was impeccably pristine. It was suggested that no family members come for 30 days in order to give my husband a chance to acclimate to a new environment, and I thought that was just really impeccably on point. I've experienced good customer service there."

"The Tradition is a beautiful setting for our Mother and she has come to feel that it is her new home. She has stabilized during her two and a half years on the Memory Care Unit and my family is grateful for that. She has received good medical support during a few challenging times. The Directors of Nursing Shay and Stephanie have been responsive to both my family and my mother during this time that she has been in Memory Care. I truly know that they genuinely work diligently every day to provide for the residents at Tradition and I can speak on behalf of my own mother and say that that has made difference for the better for her during this time in her life. Shay also referred us to an excellent private care practitioner in Houston which has also been helpful beyond words which led to our mothers successful recovery. The nursing directors have been clear about what our mother has needed and were correct. They knew the limitations of what can be provided , they both told us their assessment for her care needs , made recommendations for a sitter and our family responded. Our mom benefitted. Food is very good. Environment is clean and attractive. Staff are professional and kind. My only recommendation for the Tradition administration If feasible would be to hire more caregivers. A sitter is an additional charge. A sitter also keeps mom safe due to her advancing memory loss. More staff would help out on this matter. Overall, I give the staff and facility high marks. Thankyou."

"Brookdale Sugar Land is very nice. The staff, Michelle, was great, but it's just the facility is a little older, not that it was bad. It was just a little older, and I think that it could use a little renovating. It is nothing major, and it's a very nice facility. That was number two on my list. It was a single-story, so I was impressed with that. They had a courtyard."

"The hostess in The Village was very nice, but I think the cost was a little bit too much for my mom. The food and dining facility was fantastic. I was impressed with them. They had a room for guys where they can hang out. The facility is immense, like a little hotel. "

"My mother is moving into Clayton Oaks Living. It's convenient. I think it's the perfect fit for my mother, and it's conveniently located near my residence. The staff is very nice, very cooperative, and very helpful. I think that they really care, and they're very well organized. The landscape is very nice. The interior of the building is very nice. I like the amenities that they have for the residents. It's a four-star organization, I really like it. They have crafting, they have activities for the residents, they have a movie theater indoors, and a very nice dining area."

"I chose here for my husband, because they had a memory care and it was an established place where people are happy. What I liked the best about it is the caregivers. They are caring, loving, and they take good care of the residents. They have good activities, but there's just not enough of them. The facilities are very nice, and they have very good food. It's also the closest one to me, and it's right by a hospital."

"The Park At Bay Area was one of the top places for me. They might need to have a few more employees, but other than that, it was very nice. I toured both assisted living and memory care and it was very well maintained and clean. It smelled fresh and the staff was very welcoming. The lady who gave the tour was very, very nice and was very helpful in explaining everything. The rooms were very spacious and very well maintained. They had just finished activities when I got there and I saw some of their paintings and different things that they had done. Their dining area was very pleasant and inviting, too."

"I visited the Belmont Village. I saw some of the smaller apartments there. I thought it was OK. It’s not brand new, but it’s very clean. The staff was nice. The residents looked happy. It was a good experience. "

"I am so glad I decided on Agape Heritage Home for my mother. The manager and staff at Agape Heritage Home provided high quality care and support to her during her stay. Having not experienced the need for assisted living for my mom before, I found the manager, Dennis, to be a truly caring, kind and trustworthy soul, and he was helpful throughout my mom's stay, providing constructive guidance when needed during this stressful time. I am impressed by its cleanliness (one of her doctors came by to visit and was also highly impressed by its quality) and its small patient to caretaker ratio was perfect for my mom. She got skillful bedside attention from the staff. The food was fine for what she needed and is prepared on site, and since she was unable to groom and feed herself, the staff attended to those necessary tasks to our satisfaction. This facility allows for more personal attention than the bigger facilities. The environment is like a private home, with private and semi-private bedrooms, living room, and kitchen, staffed with qualified and caring professionals. The facility is properly secure, so I felt my mom was safe at all times. I truly appreciate the wonderful care my mom received here and I highly recommend Agape Heritage Home to those families seeking high quality assisted living care for their loved ones in a peaceful, secure, clean, and caring environment."
