"I toured Cypress Gardens Apartments, and it's good. The staff who gave the tour was good and nice. The apartment looked very nice. Their apartments have individual kitchens. They have activities that you can go to, like bingo and card games. They have a gym where you can work out. They have a swimming pool. They have a balcony outside the bedroom. You can go out there and stand or sit on the balcony, which overlooks the swimming pool. It's very clean and well-organized."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"My sister is in Highland Manor Senior Living, and it is a nice and secure facility. She is on the third floor and her room is large. She has a big living room. She has her own patio. She has grand countertops and crown moldings. She loves it. "

"The Village at Morningstar is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so sweet and so kind. I saw a couple of tenants and they all said that this was a good place to be. It's safe, which is my main concern. I want my brother and father-in-law to be safe. I really liked the manager; he's really nice. I saw one apartment room; it's beautiful and brand new. You can sleep and leave the blinds open and you could see the outside but they couldn't see you, and have the sunlight come in and you can breathe freely. The bathrooms have a walk-in shower where you wouldn't fall, lots of handles too. They'll check on you when you need them to. They have bingo games and all that kind of stuff during the week. I don't know about all the things, we were only there a few minutes, but what I saw I really liked and if I get a chance to go back I'd do it. The only problem is, they are full right now. "

"Connally at Clear Creek 55+ Apartments is beautiful and very well built. I think it's only maybe seven years old. Everybody's nice. Maintenance is good. Management is good. I'm very happy that I'm taking care of myself as opposed to being someplace where they're doing everything for you. It's close to one of my kids, and I like that it's 55-plus. I have a two-bedroom, two-bath, nice kitchen, and nice living room and dining room. It's a nice size. The great room downstairs, where you have functions, has a beautifully set-up kitchen that, when you have a large group, you can do your cooking in there. I love it here. The residents do their own activities. They have set up their own exercise program, and they exercise one day, and then another day, they do chair yoga for seniors. We have a book club that has been formed by the community. It's independent living. You do what you want to do. You do your own cooking."

"I toured Baybrook Park Retirement Center. I actually liked it. It's not near as nice as the other one; but the more money, the better it looks. I liked that they have the little cottages or villas. It appeared to be clean. The staff were very nice. I met two, and they were both very nice and very helpful. It's the one I am considering. I did not try the food because I will be cooking for myself. They play bingo. I think they had little living areas, a family room thing, and I guess they've got food. The price looked affordable for me."

"I'm living in a 55+ community right now. We're just looking for a cheaper place because we're paying $2,000 a month and my husband just lost his job, so when our lease is up we're going to be looking for something a little less expensive. The community is called The Fordham at Baywood in Pasadena and it's like market rates here. It's a very nice, quiet community. They have a swimming pool, a fitness center, a little business center, and a club house. Before the COVID pandemic they were doing some activities, but they haven't done any since then. Everything shut down. The staff is very friendly, they try their best, but they can only do what the management company will allow them to do. They try their very best to keep everything updated, they give out information as the management company gives out information. I have a problem with the management company itself, but I think you probably find that almost anywhere. The facility is very nice. The appliances in the apartment are not really great, they're on the lower end. The apartments themselves are very nice, they're really spacious. The grounds are kept clean. I was not really thrilled with their activities when they were having them."

"I'm at Attiva Pearland. The one thing I like about it is it's one story. You have a front yard and a front door and you have a backyard and a back door. It's very well kept. It's got one way in and one way out. You have one of those overhead carports and they're grouped in four to five. You can park right at your front door. In the middle, they have the all-purpose room and it has everything you would want, exercise, salon, and clubhouse. The people that work in the office are very helpful. They have something every day. They have an outdoor pool that's about four feet and a half, a jacuzzi, and a hot tub. They have barbecue pits and they have a covered patio. They have activities every day depending on what you want to do. The price depends on how much money you want to spend or how much you want. I chose it for two reasons, the one floor and also next door is the subdivision where my family lives. We are a gated community, and when I go out my front door and get in my car, it just takes me 3 minutes to go to our gate then go through my daughter's gate and go to her house. It's right next door to what we would call a family community. There are people here that have home health care come and do for them also. The staff is very nice. Some people are just customer service friendly and they have that gift for interacting with older people, and the manager is very efficient. They have another young lady who interacts with the senior age generation. It's just really helpful. They don't talk down to you or patronize you. They're just respectful. It's wonderful. The maintenance is awesome. If you put in a work request, they have it finished that day."

"It's been a month since I lived at Tarrington Court and I can see that it's a nice community. I chose it because of the amenities that I can gain with the facility. The staff is good. Since it's a new facility, they are just now getting activities going on. "

"They are still building Mariposa, so it's only one and a half years old, but there are people living in the rooms that are done. You pay extra for a garage. There’s a library and a business area included. They don’t serve your meals, but they do offer use of a nice kitchen. "

"Trinity Oaks Of Pearland showed us their independent living apartments. It was a decent size for a single person like myself. The bedroom and the bathroom were nice. It had a walk-in shower, a washer, and a dryer. There's a stove in the kitchen. I like it. The staff gave me a tour, but it wasn't really her job. It sounded like they provided three meals a day. Nevertheless, what we went through the building seemed fine. I was really considering it, but I had other issues, like going to the hospital and back and forth. They have a nice outdoor area at the back of the building, and I thought it was nice."

"Providence Town Square is a great community. My mom lives there and it's very clean and they've got a lot of amenities, even outside of the norm. People can make their own private little gardens if they want to, and everything's pretty close and convenient. They're tucked away from the main road. It's gated, so it's pretty safe. They have a transport bus where they'll take the residents to restaurants or any kind of outside activity of interest. Plus they'll take them on grocery store trips and other things like that in groups. They have a great room that has a kitchen and a whole lot of tables if somebody wants to host a big event. Then there's another room where people go down and have different activities like cards or any kind of social activity. Another section of the great room is for those who just want to get out of their space. It has big TVs and nice furniture. People can gather down there, socialize, watch TV or watch a game or do whatever they wanna do. They have a lot of opportunities to interact."

"I'm currently at Primrose of Pasadena. The facility looks clean and everything looks in good order. They have a salon, an exercise area, a home theatre type room for watching videos. The area is pretty much secure and hat I like about this place is that is it just for seniors. There are no young kids or young people allowed to live her. We have a small entrance way that we go to our apartments and they allow us to decorate our doors or personalize the entrance. I don’t have to take the trash to garbage area. I can just leave it outside the door and they pick it up. "
