"My father has been in Brookdale West University (Formerly The Terrace at West University) for two months now. The staff is excellent, very helpful, very caring, has attention to detail, and very friendly. The place itself is very clean. Upon moving in, they had a little welcome gift for my dad. He said almost everyday someone from the staff comes by to check and see how he is doing. He was wishing that they would have better food. It's more of pre-made or frozen food that they heat up. He was wishing he could have more of a home-cooked experience. He's not able to participate in any of the social recreations, but when I took the tour, I saw that they had a lot of social things and a lot of activities that are really excellent and I saw the other people and they seemed to really enjoy them. The food is edible and sometimes I'll re-cook the vegetables because he likes them a little bit more cooked. "

"I toured Emerson Pines and I liked the location of it. It's very close to my work. The apartment the gentleman showed me was very nice. It's a one-bedroom apartment. He didn't show me much of the complex and I'm going to go back to see a two-bedroom just to compare and to see what else they have. It's an older facility, but it was clean. They have a place you can sit with a little putting green."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"My husband is at Atria Westchase. I have no complaints. I have not spoken to him in detail about his experience, but he has had no complaints about the staff or any other aspects of his life there. He has been there for three weeks now. I chose it because it has all the amenities he needed. They had transportation, a studio apartment, and the location was good. Those were some of the features that were important to us. The staff was easy to work with. They have Covid restrictions for visits, so I haven't visited him, but I have been there to leave items for him and to pick up items from him. He is very comfortable there and he has never said one negative thing about the place. The people with whom I've interacted were very helpful, and based on what I have seen, the facility is OK. Compared to other facilities that provide the same services, I'm satisfied with the value for money."

"The one that I will ultimately go to is called The Abbey at Westminster Plaza. The thing that I like best about it is it's close to my son. He is about two miles away, so it makes it much more convenient for me. The people were very nice. The lady did show me all the amenities of the place. They did have activities. There was a large game room for various activities and a place for a little store for general needs. They have a beautiful indoor pool and a heating pool, which I need. They would provide three meals a day, seven days a week. It looked like a nice place to live. "

"Village on the Park Steeplechase was pretty good, but the price was a little bit steep. In terms of activities, I saw them in action there. The residents were together and playing cards. The room was good. Cleanliness was very good. There's a library there. The building was very nice."

"I went to Copperfield Estates. The staff was more than helpful. That's the part I liked. They were very professional and very helpful. I love that. The rooms were a bit small because I don't have a whole lot of stuff, but my television is 70 inches, not small. So I can't see it sitting anywhere. And I have to have a large TV because otherwise, I can't see it. I'm legally blind. So I need something large. I looked at the two-bedroom. I like the fact that it was more space, but it was still very congested. I'm looking for potentially my care provider who may be a person that may be there with me. That's the problem. So, you sit on top of each other like that, there's no space for that. I'm a person who likes to work out, gyms, and stuff like that. They mentioned the stores, but I liked all of the recreational activities that they mentioned. I loved those outdoor things. I like that. So, those amenities, that was what was hard to part with because they had a lot going on. And I appreciated that because that keeps you moving and going. And me being early on diagnosed with glaucoma I want to have things to do so that I'm not sitting in the room thinking about glaucoma and your anxiety getting the best of you, depression getting the best of you. So, that helped me out a lot. That would help me. So I like that part. I like that."

"Cypress Gardens Apartments is a very good community. It seems like they have apartments, but not in the price point we're looking for. The room was very clean. They also have an elevator. Everything looked clean and very well taken care of. The staff members were very open, sympathetic, and very kind. They have a pool that is working, and then they have a common area where people can come in just to meet others. They also have a common place with computers where they can come and check anything if they need to."

"The Enclave at Lake Pointe was a very, very nice complex. It's new so there are all the modern facilities and amenities that you want. However, for me, it was too small for the furniture that I have. It was clean. Their mailroom was enclosed, which was nice. I was impressed with their pool and that they had a recreation area in the lobby that you could reserve for parties."

"I like Aurora Living. The person that was there was very nice. He showed me around and explained the place to me. It was a very nice place and it was clean. They had a patio."

"Atria Cinco Ranch is a great place, and the people are nice. The administration is a little pushy, but it's OK. It's a good place. Their rooms are a little bit small, not laid out really well, but they're good. The rooms are broken up, there is no wall off, they are a little more of an open plan. I think you'd be able to do more with it. My mom wasn't really pleased with the food. She said it was overdone. They have everything on site, which is good, and they will take you places."
