There was no question about how they felt about it. Everything was wonderful there; if I could go there now, I probably would. "The Village at The Woodlands Waterway was way too pricey, and I was not allowed to have a car, but everything was beautiful there. The staff were very nice. The dining room was very beautiful with very comfortable chairs. You have a menu that you can choose from, and the staff waits on you. They have cards, bingo, a nice computer room, buses for shopping, a church that comes in, and they do your hair; they take care of everything. "

"I'm at The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. It's all very good, very clean, and very nice. What I like about it the most is they had independent cottages, and that's what convinced me. I didn't want to be in an apartment-style or condominium-style. These are brand new. There are only 28 of them. I was the first person to live in one. It has a patio, and it has full service for everything. They don't manage the healthcare because it's independent living. What I like about it is that everything is included. You don't pay extra for a garage, TV, internet, or anything else. At the other facilities I looked at, the prices were reasonable, but there were too many add-ons to worry about. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming, and very good. I have no problem at all. They had activities, but I'm not familiar with them because I've been moving in. The dining area has tablecloths and everything. They're very accommodating if you want extra whatever. I haven't eaten there that many times, but I think the food could be better than it is."

"It was great. The rooms were average. They provide games and bridge, and they take the residents out for sightings. They offer three full meals."

"I saw Park Creek, and it's 5 stars all the way around. I wasn't able to see the rooms, they were all occupied, the staff was great, and the whole thing was beautiful, wonderful. The outdoors was gorgeous, there was a pool, an outdoor kitchen, it was wonderful. I saw the living room, an exercise room, a private room where veterans gather which is great, they gather for coffee in the morning. They also had an after-hours bar, and like a small Starbucks in there, where you can go and get something any time of the day. The menu was great, and the food options seemed out of this world."

"Village on The Park Steeplechase was very nice. It was a large facility. It had a lot of nice sitting areas. We looked at a studio-type apartment. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. It had a mini kitchen, so you could get snacks and stuff. The place was very nice, too. They had a lot of outdoor space. They had a very nice area with sidewalks and everything."

"We got my mother settled into Above and Beyond. Everything is great. So far, we love it. She has a clean, big room. The food is not as quite as good as where she was living at her retirement community, but other than that, I don’t think she has too many complaints. We like the fact that there are cameras throughout the facility, so we can monitor her over our computers. They are very open and have monitors in the kitchen and the dining room. This facility has given all the care that we need at a reasonable price. Also, she doesn't have to walk a long way to get from one point to another. "

"We toured the Reserve at Watermere Woodland Lakes. We toured the new apartments that they built, and we liked it. The staff members were very nice, good people. The apartments have a nice big kitchen, which is why I chose them, because I still like to cook sometimes. They have lots of cabinets and that kind of thing. They have a nice place to walk. They made sidewalks down around the pond. It has trees and it's very pretty. They have a rooftop bar, but they don't actually have the liquor there, you have to bring it. There are chairs and stuff there for you to sit. It's like a big balcony and it's very pretty. They have games like Rummikub. They don't provide transportation or things like that. The building is all really good and really well thought-out. They have restaurants within walking distance. They have a little shopping center type thing there."

"My mom will be moving into Watermere at Woodland Lakes. I like the fact that it's close to home. I like the fact that it's a brand-new facility. They have lots of amenities, including a pool. The staff was wonderful, very nice, accommodating, and always available when we needed them. The size of the apartments is wonderful, with lots of closet space. There's plenty of storage room. They have an onsite location for an assisted living-type program that you can incorporate into independent living, which is what we needed because we can't afford assisted living right now."

"Whispering Pines of the Woodlands is a country setting where they have a duck pond behind; it's nice to look out and not just see traffic. The place is relatively new, but I find the staff to be caring and good. The only downside is I thought it was assisted living, but it's independent senior supported lifestyle, so I don't know how long that will work, but so far, so good. They're not at full capacity yet, but they have exercises and different things and walk down to the pond, which is fun to them. They told me they'll have a luau this weekend with food and costumes. We chose a bedroom in the back, so my husband has a view of the pond. "

"I've moved into Woodside Manor Senior Community. I love it. I rarely see the staff. I see the maintenance guys because they also pick up the trash and they're nice. They don't serve food. They have activities, but I don't have a way to get around, so I haven't participated. The maintenance is fine. The floor plan is wonderful. Once we saw this area, we loved it. The housing is wonderful. I feel like I'm in a private house."
