I'm at The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. It's all very good, very clean, and very nice. What I like about it the most is they had independent cottages, and that's what convinced me. I didn't want to be in an apartment-style or condominium-style. These are brand new. There are only 28 of them. I was the first person to live in one. It has a patio, and it has full service for everything. They don't manage the healthcare because it's independent living. What I like about it is that everything is included. You don't pay extra for a garage, TV, internet, or anything else. At the other facilities I looked at, the prices were reasonable, but there were too many add-ons to worry about. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming, and very good. I have no problem at all. They had activities, but I'm not familiar with them because I've been moving in. The dining area has tablecloths and everything. They're very accommodating if you want extra whatever. I haven't eaten there that many times, but I think the food could be better than it is.

The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is really nice. There is a totally different look about it. I really like it, but it is just too far from all the things my parents need to be around. They also have assisted living, so they have a doctor on-site who can come and visit the independent living ones, too. They have some rehab people on-site or somebody that you can hire, and they come in and do rehab. They have a rehab room there. They have a whole room full of jigsaw puzzles and ladies doing puzzles. It seemed like fun; it was really nice. It was the same price as the other place, but they didn't have covered parking. It is definitely newer than the other one. It is more modern, new -ooking, and more ranch-style. They have a beautiful outdoor patio in between their buildings.

We looked at The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. It had all of the characteristics of a really quality facility. It had wide, wide hallways. It had an excellent selection of rooms available. It had all the attributes of physical therapy rooms, game rooms, swimming pool, and dining room. I would rank it way up there as one of the best we've looked at. They have appliances in the room. The kitchen is a full kitchen and you can cook in there if you want. There's washers and dryers and so forth. The staff who took me around was very knowledgeable.

The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is brand new. We were there as visitors and looked like it was well-managed. They have other places nationwide and I liked that everything was clean and nice. The rooms were quite good, especially the deluxe one-bedroom. It had a good amount of space, considering it's a one-bedroom. It had a smaller refrigerator and smaller counter space than the regular kitchen in a regular house, but that's not that bad. The dining room was very nice and the food was good. The service was a little slow as they were short on the waitstaff, but they're working on that. They have quite a few activities listed. Once a month, somebody comes in and gives lectures to them. The staff was very nice and very friendly, too. They have this little program called ambassadors. So, whenever somebody is new or visiting, they picked a person that was very akin to what you are going through or the kind of lifestyle you have. That's your person who kind of stays and hangs around you. Since we're both in the military, our ambassador was a man that was also in the Air Force. When everybody was coming into the dining room, you could see the tables with all the names. They wanted everybody to grab their own name and set it with them. So, when a new person was walking around, she could start seeing everybody's name and whoever she sat down with, the names of the people she was sitting with were right there. I thought that was nice.

The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living was a brand-new place. We just felt that it wasn't established. They were still adding things and just opening up, so they weren't complete on that, but it was a very nice facility. We're looking for a more established place. We toured the independent living. The dining facility, recreation area, and theater room were very nice. They had a snack area where you could get snacks and things. The rooms themselves were very nice. The staff was good. They were new, but they did answer all questions that we had.
