"My mother in law lived at the pines for the last few years of her life. It is an exceptional facility with wonderful caring staff. I loved that it is an age in place facility so that even after she broke her hip she was able to go back to the pines instead of a rehab facility. I can’t say enough about the pines and recommend it. "

"I'm at The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. It's all very good, very clean, and very nice. What I like about it the most is they had independent cottages, and that's what convinced me. I didn't want to be in an apartment-style or condominium-style. These are brand new. There are only 28 of them. I was the first person to live in one. It has a patio, and it has full service for everything. They don't manage the healthcare because it's independent living. What I like about it is that everything is included. You don't pay extra for a garage, TV, internet, or anything else. At the other facilities I looked at, the prices were reasonable, but there were too many add-ons to worry about. The staff is wonderful, very welcoming, and very good. I have no problem at all. They had activities, but I'm not familiar with them because I've been moving in. The dining area has tablecloths and everything. They're very accommodating if you want extra whatever. I haven't eaten there that many times, but I think the food could be better than it is."

"Village Green has provided care and compassion for my mom that we do not feel we could have found anywhere else. We felt mom was ‘home” from her first day of residence at Village Green. "I'm at The Wellington at Conroe. There's always something not right a little here and there, but mostly it's all right. All the staff is real nice and real helpful. The food is not exactly everything I'd want, but it's all right. The facility is well in order. They have bingo, and we even have a poker night. They had a clown show one time. I've only been here a month and a half, so I haven't seen it all, but at least, they try."

"My mom moved into Woodhaven Village Senior Living, and it's a really nice place. The food is really good, because they're serving only 37 residents. They have homemade cakes every day. The staff is wonderful, and the manager added two extra people just to help mom stay in independent living. They have a full gym upstairs, and a PT guy on staff. She has a 1-bedroom, with a walk-in shower, and a nice patio with flowers and everything."

"I visited the assisted living facility of Avanti at Augusta Pines, and it's the one that I like the most because they have a combination of assisted living and memory care. One of my parents is going to be on the memory care side, and the other one is more on the assisted living, so given that they have those two together, they might be able to accommodate them both in one facility and give a little more privileges for my mom to wander around the other space. They had their programs laid out for everybody to see the things that they were doing throughout the day. They also provide proprietary fitness instructions for the elderly. I think it's great because strength training for them would go a long way, so it's a very thoughtful thing to have. I'm not sure if all facilities have something like that, but this one was really great. They have the residents well-occupied. They also have outings once a week where they bring them to the supermarket and places like that, which is great. They give them chances to go out in a controlled fashion. I think it would be great if they had a pool, as it would give the residents more options. Other than that, the facility is great. They have a fitness room and places to play board games and just hang around. They're also not that big, probably just 40 residents. The person who gave the tour was great, super understanding, and very thoughtful. She explained everything very well. The facility's physical appearance was also super nice. It was very well maintained."

"My father is here, and it is absolutely wonderful. It is very clean. Our experience has been great all along. He's been there for two years. It is a nice facility, but the staff makes the difference. They really attend to the resident's need and look after their safety. The food is OK -- not restaurant food -- but it is nutritious. They have activities all the time. They have people who come in, and they have sing alongs, play bingo, and go shopping. They have activities all the time. "

"I toured New Haven Assisted Living & Memory Care. It seems to be a very beautiful location. The staff seem to be very knowledgeable and helpful when interacting with the residents there. They have a patio. I believe there are places for hair as well. It seemed very clean."

"I went to Spring Creek Village. I didn't like them very much, maybe it was the place or the touring. The staff showed me the memory care area. I didn't like that some people were just sitting there and not doing anything. The rooms were really small. I met a lady. She was really nice and everything. The staff when I first came over were really nice. They gave me the tour for about 30-45 minutes. She didn't mention anything about a nurse, and she gave me a booklet with the prices and things like that. That was it. They also didn't ask about my brother. She didn't show me much. She dind't show me a gym or a salon, though there's a small courtyard. The place was very clean, and it's not far from the hospital."

"Avid Care Cottages is great and is a personal care home. The place is very nice and clean. The staff is great. My stepmother is bedbound so everything has to be done for her. Her room is small, but clean."

"My friend is on a waiting list at Strake Court. The facility seemed very clean. The people were very nice. The coffee was wonderful, and I don't even like coffee, but it was good there. Everybody was wonderful, even the people that live there. It looks like a community. They had plenty of activities. They just had a party the night before. They had a barbecue, and they even had beer there. They have a studio, which is more open concept. They have another one that has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. But we'll get the studio, and it's plenty big. It's got a big closet and plenty of room for your bed. You could take a recliner and a little table. The staff member was excellent and wonderful. She always smiles. The dining area looked really nice. They have a courtyard, and all the apartments are around the courtyard, so you can go out in the courtyard and smoke up there if you smoke. They have a little area for the smokers. And then, if you have a pet, it's fully fenced. They have a hairdresser who comes in once a week. They have their own mailboxes inside."
