They have licensed private duty. Very active residents and activities."

"I toured The Conservatory at Champion Forest, and it was the best I've seen so far. It was more modern, and the staff was kind. They followed up with me three times, even trying to adjust the price to fit my budget. However, it was still not cheap. Their rooms were clean and fine. They put a wooden floor instead of carpet in the living area. They have a kitchenette, which is enough for senior living, and I think for the washer and dryer they wanted extra."

"I toured The Solana Preserve Vintage Park, and it was awesome. It was amazing. It just wasn't what we needed. I physically went in and I spoke with Sierra but we didn't go very far other than the lobby, the eating area, and the little bar area because sitting and talking with her, we realized that what my mom needed, the facility wasn't going to suffice, unfortunately. They were all very friendly, mild-mannered when you were speaking with them, very easy to talk to, eager to help, wanted to make sure that they were trying to find a way to meet my parents' needs, I thought that was great. It's beautiful. It's like a higher-end hotel. It looks like an amazing facility. It looks very nice when you walk in, it's very nicely decorated, and you're greeted by a nice person at the front desk. It's very bright."

"We chose Mera Vintage Park. It's fabulous. We were really drawn to it. We like the bocce ball court, swimming pool, and pickleball. It appears that there are activities going on there. People like us are still fairly active. The dog park, that was important to us, they have an exercise room, a basketball court, outdoor grills, several seating areas that would be nice to get out and about, and that backs up to a preserve. And we were very excited walking into that preserve. We dealt with Jasmine, the sales staff. We're moving there."

"I toured The Conservatory at Alden Bridge. The only thing I have to furnish, which I can either rent or buy, is a washer and dryer. Everything else is furnished, and it has an ice maker, which is nice. They have many activities there. There is an on-site beauty salon, and there's a van. They have a pool, and lots of water aerobics are going on right now. The grounds itself is attractive and very well kept up. The inside looks good, and everybody is extremely friendly. They had bingo and bridge games going on. They had a big puzzle in there. It's spread out, so there will probably be a lot of walking. I chose it because of the location and felt it best fit my needs. The washer and dryer were probably the deal breaker, and not having any carpet. They served two meals a day, breakfast, or you could even have lunch or dinner, or anywhere in between. I met with the general director. I met with a gal who's handling all your moving experiences and how to do that and get you set up. There's another lady, the original salesperson, and the gal at the front desk. They're all very friendly, and they're very organized over here. It's very well kept up. All kinds of maintenance people and van drivers are there if you have an issue. They're nice. They have it together."

"I toured Heritage Tomball. It was very pleasant. I had a young lady named Mary. She was very straightforward, very polite, and very pleasant to talk to. She answered my questions. The reason I went back the second time was because my mom was asking for a different floor plan, and so I had only looked at it the very first time. They were very small, just a bedroom, which my mom did not want, so I went back a second time just to look at a bigger room. Mary was there and still once again spent plenty of time with me. I didn't feel rushed like I was with some of the other places. The only thing that I did not like was its one story and my mom is in a wheelchair. In order for her to get to whatever room she would be in the dining room is quite a waste. It's a very, very long hall. That's my only issue. So, I mean, that's not that big of a deal. She could probably call for help because it might take her a while, and she might miss lunch or dinner by the time she got there. The heritage seems to be reasonable, and Mary even said that she could possibly get the rental down even a little bit more for us, so nobody else had ever said that to me before. No complaints. The location is great, right by the hospital, and right across from my doctor's office, if she needs a female doctor or anything like that, and about 20 minutes from me. The facility didn't smell bad. Everybody was pleasant. The staff members that would walk by me would say hello to me."

"I toured The Laurel at Vintage Park. They had extra things like appliances, garbage collection, and utilities, which were extra charges, whereas, in other places, they were all included. I was not all that interested in activities because all planned activities are indoors, and I'm more of an outdoor person, but my wife might be interested in it. The rooms were okay."

"I liked Arella Forest at Woodland. The apartments were really laid out for an independent living situation. It worked to my mom's advantage. As far as she's not interested in the meals, we run into so many places where you have to purchase the meal plan, which stores everything up to $3,000, and my mother doesn't eat. So this was appealing to us from that factor. Plus, it was close to where I live. I really liked the community, that is probably one of my number one choices. The staff was very nice, she took us to the apartments that we wanted to look at, and was most helpful with the information. We looked at three different floor plans, a smaller one bedroom, a larger one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. So they had lots of options. The prices were reasonable. They had a pool, an exercise room, a card room, and they had quite a lovely monthly planner that they use. My sister was like, "When can I sign up and go there?""

"I have visited Morada Cy-Fair, and I thought they were very good for the amount of care that they have. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's very well-run. I saw a lot of staff during my visit. It's very busy, and I thought it might overwhelm my father. They had all the right amenities. The room I saw was nice, clean, and well-kept. I would have to move my dad's furniture in. The staff was very attentive. They were being friendly when we walked by. They introduced me to different people, like this person that took care of the laundry and all that. Everybody was busy. They had activities. They had a bus that would take people places. It had a good, open, and secure outdoor area, and I liked all of that. It's on a busy main road in the area. Once you get into the facility, they had a nice big open area where most of the residents would be and a couple of extra courtyards."

"Woodhaven Village was gorgeous. Love it. However, they require the food plan, which means that we're looking more towards $4,000 a month. My mother weighs 100 pounds. She does not eat breakfast. Everything we looked at with the full meal plan was not anything we were even remotely interested in. Woodhaven is opening up a 55 plus, but they are requiring a one-year lease, and we would like something a little bit more flexible. The amenities are gorgeous, beautiful, and in a very well kept area."

"I toured The Lakes at Woodhaven Village. It's very well taken care of. It's gated. It has a great pool, not only just the pool. They have a hot tub and they also have laps where you can swim laps. There are all kinds of games and things. There's a coffee bar. There's all kinds of stuff. The apartment itself was very nice."

"My mother is at The Wellington at Conroe. The staff is always so pleasant, kind and helpful. It's a clean place and the staff adores the residents there. I show up there almost every day and they're always nice to everybody. The food is awesome, although sometimes it looks like they're throwing something on the plate, but that didn't happen very much. If a client wants something different that day, then they'll make that. It seems like they can't keep a housekeeper, but the staff steps in and they do the work. I honestly think that they need more people. Every day, they have activities starting at 8:00 in the morning, like exercises. When I go up there, they're out playing games. They have the most awesome lady that does activities with their clients. They do bingo, dominoes, everything you can think of. They make crafts. They're good with my mother, and they change her."

"We went to Park Creek. We have already toured there and we're set up for another tour. We liked them, they looked quite nice. We were looking at the largest rooms, and we really liked the one they showed us, which was a corner, a first-floor corner that had a little patio that had a ramp. Instead of a step-down, it had a little ramp. I use a walker to get around and every once in a while a wheelchair (depending on distance), so for us, that ramp would be handy. We liked it. The food was quite good, we had dinner with them."

"We went to Spring Cypress Phase II. They're building new buildings; they got 3 new buildings being built there. At least one is nothing but independent living, but that's not going to be available until early next year. So if I was even interested there, it would be next year sometime before we'd even be able to be interested. It was fine, and it was also quite expensive. They have a few independent cottages, little duplexes, which are very expensive. They're like 200 or 300 yards away from the amenities. And it's all outside, you go up and down the street to get to it. And in fact, supposedly the way they were talking, if we were in the cottages at the moment, which is independent living, we couldn't even go to the building that is assisted living. The cleanliness was fine. We got one lady that took us around as a tour. We had an appointment, but when we went there, they didn't have our name, they didn't know who were were. But they managed to go and get a very nice lady who showed us around. They couldn't offer us lunch because we weren't set up for the tour, but they said we could always call and re-setup to come to lunch anytime, so that was nice. It was also very expensive."
