"I toured Cypress Gardens Apartments, and it's good. The staff who gave the tour was good and nice. The apartment looked very nice. Their apartments have individual kitchens. They have activities that you can go to, like bingo and card games. They have a gym where you can work out. They have a swimming pool. They have a balcony outside the bedroom. You can go out there and stand or sit on the balcony, which overlooks the swimming pool. It's very clean and well-organized."

"My grandmother moved into a two bedroom with a great view. The cost is significantly lower than what she was paying for less space. The food is wonderful, the staff is helpful and the residents are happy. We are pleased so far."

"My parents live at The Solana Preserve Vintage Park. Everybody says they've got great food, but my parents moved in there during the pandemic, so it's kind of hard to say. They've been there during the pandemic and got COVID. They have great activities prior to COVID. The staff is very nice. It's clean, it's just that maintenance wise, it wasn't built well, but that comes from the perfectionist who just moved in. They have some limited activities. They have live music once a month, and they have Bridge. One of the reasons my parents lived there is they have a pretty high ratio of men to women. When I made calls in June, there was like a 3:1 ratio of women to men, and a lot of places had a 5:1 ratio."

"I had an in-person tour of The Village of River Oaks. It was super close to our house. The staff members were also super nice. The facility was also super clean. The layout was fine. It was just I don't think it would work for us because it was more of an urban feel, I guess, kind of a high-rise living. My dad's going to want more of a country feel, and trees and grass and that kind of stuff."

"The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is brand new. We were there as visitors and looked like it was well-managed. They have other places nationwide and I liked that everything was clean and nice. The rooms were quite good, especially the deluxe one-bedroom. It had a good amount of space, considering it's a one-bedroom. It had a smaller refrigerator and smaller counter space than the regular kitchen in a regular house, but that's not that bad. The dining room was very nice and the food was good. The service was a little slow as they were short on the waitstaff, but they're working on that. They have quite a few activities listed. Once a month, somebody comes in and gives lectures to them. The staff was very nice and very friendly, too. They have this little program called ambassadors. So, whenever somebody is new or visiting, they picked a person that was very akin to what you are going through or the kind of lifestyle you have. That's your person who kind of stays and hangs around you. Since we're both in the military, our ambassador was a man that was also in the Air Force. When everybody was coming into the dining room, you could see the tables with all the names. They wanted everybody to grab their own name and set it with them. So, when a new person was walking around, she could start seeing everybody's name and whoever she sat down with, the names of the people she was sitting with were right there. I thought that was nice."

"Forest in the Woodlands appeared to be the best place for us because it had all of the things we need in the future. All of the people were really friendly, and everybody liked living there. All of the people we talked to have been there for six or seven years. The staff was good. There were lots of activities, which was surprising. It was spacious. "

"I'm staying here and the facility is very nice, the staff is very nice and cooperative, and I really like my room. They have good activities here and I like them. I'm in a wheelchair and they have video games, which is really nice for me because I'm unable to get around. I have a scooter but it's still hard to get around. They have a lot of things that are virtual which is nice. They have art classes which I love. They have someone who comes in and teaches about technology and I love that. We have something new here, a clinic that does occupational therapy and physical therapy so that's great. I love the facility and the apartments are very nice. I have a very nice apartment, it's just what I wanted. It's hardwood floors, it has a complete kitchen with everything stainless steel, it's all topnotch, I really enjoyed it. I have a glass door shower, it's just wonderful. I'm in a wheelchair and have plenty of space to move around here."

"It was fine. It was a good visit. We had a fine lunch with them, and the food was OK. It wasn’t anything to brag about, but it was good and well prepared. The dining room was one big room with the food around to each table. The living quarters have been redone, so they were very nice and well arranged. Mainly, I wanted to live downstairs, but they didn’t have anything open downstairs. The community was fine. I have known about it for quite a few years and know people there. It’s good. "

"I visited The Village of Southampton about six weeks ago. I liked the fact that they had three levels of care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's all in one building. It's a high-rise building. They had activities for the people who live there. Everything was provided. They give you a list of activities for the whole month. Everything looked perfect. Everything was perfect. I saw an apartment, the dining room, the different rooms where they have activities, and I saw the vehicle that carries the people wherever they want to go. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seem to be happy there. The staff who showed me around was very professional. I didn't try the food and seeing the menus, it looked very good. And they will take care of special diets."

"I did a real tour of Village on The Park Steeplechase and it's a good place for us. They have what I want, they have the independent care and the little cottages, and independent care apartments. Then when we eventually need it, they have assisted living and memory care. I like that the individual cottages are like duplexes, one wall of your cottage connects to another but it feels like a separate little home. It's got this little carport, garage, and front door. It feels very much like an individual home. They have well-kept grounds, a nice little dining area, and an ice cream parlor area. There is more than just ice cream socials and it's very nice. I had a meal there and it was good, my husband was able to order his hamburger. They offer quite a few activities. We met a lot of the people there, basically the business people, the gym person who does the exercise things and the lady for the hair care. The staff was very nice and very kind."

"This facility is really well kept, especially in the foyer area. They have a piano and a small pool. The rooms are well-kept and are really modernized. The entryway is really great. The residents have access to transportation provided by the facility. They have a recreational and fitness program for the residents. The common areas are really spacious. It seems like the location and neighborhood is really nice. This facility also has a storage area for the residents. Some of the rooms have a view. The ceilings were also much higher than at other facilities, and the countertops are granite. They have walk-in showers, nice carpeting, crown molding, and nice window coverings. The staff didn't want to tell me how much it would actually cost to live there, but the fees are based on a monthly rental fee. I know the fees include housekeeping and maintenance, plus transportation and the two scheduled meals per day. If some of their residents can't meet the rental fee for the month, they have different programs and discounts for some of their seniors who are on fixed incomes, so they work with the residents so the fees won't be a burden on them. I talked to one staff member, and she seemed to have an issue with the management, though she didn't want to get into details. She seemed to be well-trained, and she was an RN. The staff provides after-hours contact information for staff in case any of the residents need help. The family members are welcome to come in at any time, rather than having to come in at one specific time during the day. "

"The Buckingham was beautiful and clean. The director was wonderful. They had lots of activities, and it was a wonderful place. "

"Can’t say enough about the amazing level of care these wonderful staff provided our dear mother who lived at the residence the final year of her life. Mom had suffered strokes and needed enhanced attentiveness that our family couldn’t provide. We toured the facility and were immediately impressed and felt at ease. After she was accepted we always felt peace of mind knowing that she was cared for by the staff the same as they would take care of their own."
