"My sister goes to Everywhere Is Home Residential Assisted Living for daycare. It's extremely wonderful. The facility is very clean. The assistance that they give is more than 1 to 1. It's a very small community. The workers are very caring and very attentive. It's wonderful, and she could also live there, so eventually, when that time comes, I will let her be a resident there. They do yoga, games, and puzzles, they give her meals, they do movie time where they have popcorn, and things for her to watch on TV, in nice, little comfortable recliners and blankets if they want. The ladies that work there treat the people like they're family. They have a beautiful yard with flowers, they do gardening with them, and a beautiful patio set where they could sit and read."

"It was very nice. They gave us a meal and it's marvelous. The people that were in the dining area were very pleasant and introduced themselves to me and talked to me, the person in the dietary area and the kitchen came out and introduced themselves. And it was very, very nice. The apartment is nice, but the one that they had available at the time for me was just too tiny. I didn't need an efficiency apartment, I guess you would call it. But it was nice, and the one-bedroom was very nice that I've seen. They had a lot of activities, they went to different places. They have an evening where you can sit down and socialize with one another. They got a bar, they got it like a buffet style thing. The staff said that if you were hungry, wanted a snack, you could come downstairs and get it. I liked it."

"I was a resident of Chesapeake Bay. In the last year, they underwent a management change, which caused a lot of changes in everything. I think they're getting their act together, and it will be fine, but the transition has been difficult. The staff was great. They go above and beyond. If a package comes in that's mislabeled, they will track me down and make sure I get it. If I have any problem with maintenance, they stay on it for me. They've been very, very good to me. The pool is spectacular, and they do a great job keeping that clean. However, they charge you little things for stuff. A garage is $150, and trash pickup is $25. Your electricity, water, and cable were billed separately. So, there's a lot of expenses in addition to the rent."

"We were pleased with Brookdale Clear Lake's independent living. It was nice and the lady who showed us around was extremely helpful in explaining things. We were very happy with the tour. It's very clean and the people we saw were extremely friendly. Dianna was also very helpful in answering all of our questions. We're definitely considering it, and most likely my father-in-law is going to make the move there. They were actually having a crawfish boil yesterday. The people were already starting to cook crawfish and someone was going to a store. I believe they had the van out front to pick up a lady for some trip too. They talked about the movie theater and they showed us that. They also showed us where the residents play cards and things like that. We checked the menu and she showed us all around to where they eat, but we did not eat any of the food."

"I visited Cypress Gardens Apartments. The lady showed me the community center and a couple of things. She said she would show me a two-bedroom, and I said I'm not even interested in seeing a two-bedroom, but she was very gracious. It seemed warm and welcoming when I went into the office. The lady was very kind, and she did put me on a waiting list for the one-bedroom. She just said she didn't know how long it would be, but she did put me down. It was just a good experience. Everybody was kind and welcoming. I don't believe I saw the dining room, but I did know that they were cooking fish for lunch, and that made me hungry. They had activities and different things going on if you were interested in attending, like decorating for different holidays. They had Valentine's Day set up, and I'm sure they're getting ready for Easter. It's like a family if you want to be a part. The lady walked me out and made sure I got my Uber. A maintenance man was out there at the gate and made sure the gate stayed open. He's just courteous. It was very clean, neat, and tidy."

"The staff was very friendly here. I saw them interact with the residents, and they were very active. It was very clean, and it smelled good. It was a very beautiful place. They showed me two rooms. The shared room was very spacious, very nice, and very clean. The single room was also very spacious with a full bath. The colors were bright. They had bingo. "

"I have moved into Enclave at Lake Pointe. I chose them because they're nice, there's an exercise room, a library, there's a lot. My apartment has got a really big bedroom, a big closet, and then I've got the washer and dryer, a nice kitchen with granite countertops, and a nice living room. They don't have food so I make my own meals. The place is really clean. There are activities like swimming and exercise, they just don't have much going on right now."

"My overall experience of touring The Village of River Oaks was excellent. Their amenities are unbelievable, I think I could live there. Their food, the service, the people, the facilities, they're very, very nice. It's only like four years old. They have an indoor swimming pool, they have a pool table, movie nights, a craft room where they can do puzzles. They also have trips to museums and things, if you like. They have very, very good food, I can attest to that. My brother will be moving in there."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"I toured Brookdale West University. I loved that facility. It was superior. They were very accommodating, but I wanted a cottage-style. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. They invited me to a special function, and that was fine, but I didn't see anything else. The area itself is closer to my daughter, but it's right in the heart of Houston, and I didn't wanna be that confined with all the traffic."

"I'm living at The Village of Tanglewood. I like it very much here. It's a first-class place. The food is excellent. All of the workers are very professional. It's a lovely facility, and it's very clean and updated. I'm enjoying it very much. I've got a full one-bedroom apartment. They have two bedrooms as well. They have more amenities than you can even use."

"I took three tours here. Overall, I was very impressed with the fact that it is kind of small and intimate. You get more of a feeling of a family or a home. It's not big. I got to meet most of the staff that would be caring for my client, and I was very impressed with them. They were all very friendly. There are very few residents there right now, and they seem to interact with them on a one-on-one basis. The rooms are not that large, but they're very nice. The bathrooms are very well equipped with very large showers, which makes it easier to assist somebody with their bathing. They have a wonderful common area living room-type setting, and then a dining room where there's a full-sized refrigerator and snacks for the residents at all times. The first time I went there, a couple of the residents were finishing their lunch meals, but I was told that the caregivers eat their meals with the residents, so it's more like a sit-down family-type meal setting, and I was very impressed with that. If they needed physical therapy, they have that available, too. They have a salon and a gym area that the residents can use. They have several large common areas. There's a balcony area where you can sit outside. It's a relatively new place, so everything is nice, fresh, and new. All the staff were available to answer questions that I had."

"The Plaza at The Buckingham was probably the Taj Mahal. They have given my brother the ultimate care. They were in that room constantly checking on him, taking care of him, and keeping the facility so clean and nice. The food was good. It was just an unbelievable experience. He's very sick, so he didn't enjoy too many things, but he loved doing the physical therapy. It kind of got him out of his room. I liked the camaraderie. The people being so concerned, sweet, nice, and caring. He did go to the 10-year anniversary of the facility. They had bands, harpists, and different people playing music on each floor. It was quite an event, and it was his birthday that day; so that was something really extraordinary because he had not been getting out of his room. We took him out to give him a little party in his room. Then he went to experience all that on the different floors with his family and that was just wonderful. "

"I really like the community, and I like the people. The thing I like the most about is instead of being like a hotel apartment living, it enters from a garden area or from the outside rather than from a hallway, which kind of gives it more feeling of independence. They have a really nice cafeteria, and they take care of the prescriptions there, so you don't have to drive to a pharmacy. There's plenty of nice enclosed parking, so it's very safe. The people themselves were very nice, and the gentleman I talked to was very informative and understanding. He listened to me in what I was looking for and what my needs were, and he didn't try to show me something other than what fit my needs which had a big influence on me. "

"The independent living of The Abbey is absolutely beautiful. The dining room is beautiful, and they have lots of amenities, but I had trouble with the washer and dryer, and I can't reach it. They had a menu like a 5-star restaurant. It was expensive, but it was justified. "

"Providence Town Square is a great community. My mom lives there and it's very clean and they've got a lot of amenities, even outside of the norm. People can make their own private little gardens if they want to, and everything's pretty close and convenient. They're tucked away from the main road. It's gated, so it's pretty safe. They have a transport bus where they'll take the residents to restaurants or any kind of outside activity of interest. Plus they'll take them on grocery store trips and other things like that in groups. They have a great room that has a kitchen and a whole lot of tables if somebody wants to host a big event. Then there's another room where people go down and have different activities like cards or any kind of social activity. Another section of the great room is for those who just want to get out of their space. It has big TVs and nice furniture. People can gather down there, socialize, watch TV or watch a game or do whatever they wanna do. They have a lot of opportunities to interact."

"They are still building Mariposa, so it's only one and a half years old, but there are people living in the rooms that are done. You pay extra for a garage. There’s a library and a business area included. They don’t serve your meals, but they do offer use of a nice kitchen. "
