"The Delaney at South Shore is wonderful, fantastic and very new. I haven't done many activities but they have Sit and Be Fit, and every once in a while they have professional singers come in here. The food is fantastic, delicious, and wonderful. And the people that check on you to give you medicine on the assisted living side are great people. They are all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are wonderful. My little apartment here isn't very large, but it's very clean and practically new. The bathroom is wonderfully large, and made for people with wheelchairs. It's a studio, the bed is wonderful and I love the bed, and there's an ice maker. It's very attractive. The value for the money is great, it's not cheap but I think it's fantastic."

"I love St. Dominic Village. It's wonderful and everything you could expect. They provide activities and three meals a day, and I have independence to do what I want. The food is great, and it's made by Luby's cafeteria. The staff is great. It's an older community at over 30 years old, but they maintain things very well."

"We loved The Reserve at Pearland, but it was private pay, and there was no way we could cover that. Chloe was the sales director who toured us, and she is very likable. She has a great personality. The facility is beautiful and clean. The rooms are private little homes, like apartments, so they have little kitchen areas and everything. It's extremely nice, but it's all private pay. Chloe worked very hard to try to make us a good deal, but we couldn't cover it. It was very expensive. I would love to put my mother in that facility. They have a beautiful garden area with big magnolia trees."

"My MIL has been at the Waterford in the Memory Care unit since January 2024 and we couldn’t be more pleased with the care she is receiving. Everyone is so kind and patient. Love the activities and socials they have to keep the residents engaged. I highly recommend the Waterford Baytown."

"They got rid of their smoking area at the first of the year and my brother smokes. If they had a smoking area, I would most definitely move him in a heartbeat. They have good rooms. The only thing that they don't do is provide a bed. They do not provide a dresser. I would have to pay extra for my brother. The staff was wonderful. The lady who was there was very, very knowledgeable of Huntington's, and she gave me a lot of information that I had no way of knowing. My girlfriend and I went together, and we were very, very impressed with the facility and everything that they had to offer. She showed me the different activities. They go on field trips, and the bus takes them to and from the VA for their doctor's appointments. I like the cleanliness of the place, the way they had their patients dressed. There was no smell. It was carpeted. The rooms were nice, the refrigerator was nice. The only thing that I didn't really care for was him being in the room with an actual roommate. I don't think that he would do well. It's close by a lot of facilities. It's a big, huge Target there. There are different eating places that are close by. It's a fiesta right there. It will be a better environment. "

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"My mother and father lived here for about a year. I had nothing but great experience with them and my parent too! The facilities were great and my parent were able to share a room. They had parties, dances and Game nights. The nurse were amazing. I became great friends with one of them and we remain friends still today. They have all levels of people there, from healthy elderly to almost need to be in a full blown nursing home. They have a staff there to help care for their residents but you may also have out side care come in and care for you or your family. We moved and so we decided to move my parents too, to ensure they were close, but i have yet to find a place that cared like them. They have not lived there in 3 yrs but Im sure it is just as great as when they left. When you take a tour make sure see the ENTIRE facility. You will want to see where food is made and laundry is done. This is not just here but anywhere. I know for me i just wanted to make sure that my parent were somewhere that was clean. "

"I chose The Village of River Oaks. The building was brand new. It's only four years old, so everything was new. The main thing is they had a big suite available that they gave me the deal on. That was probably the primary thing was the value of the size of the suite, where it was located, and that it was a real good value. Secondly, I would say the distance or the time it takes me to get from my house over to there. I'm familiar with that area. I don't have a problem as far as remembering how to get over there, and the drive isn't impossible. I was looking for memory care for my parents. We saw the building. The guy was very thorough and was answering questions, which you'd expect. He was very enthusiastic, very animated, and accommodating. They had parking. You could park your car inside the gate, so that was good. It looked nice going into it. Aesthetically, it looked fine. They did have an area that I thought was sort of unique. It was like going outside, but you really weren't going outside. It was all like a certain floor. You could go out and sort of enjoy the fresh air, but it's like you couldn't jump out of the building or anything like that. You can enjoy the outdoors, but not be on the first floor where somebody might wander into traffic or who knows what they might do. It was safe for people to go out there. It was a pretty big area, so a lot of people could mill around in there to feel some fresh air."

"The Village of the Heights is a very nice community, but I was a little disappointed with the person that did the touring, mainly because I have the medical power of attorney, a durable power of attorney, and financial power of attorney for my dad. I got all three of them but she wouldn't even look at me, and she was addressing my brother more, who had no decision making in the process. I found that very offensive. For one, because she should have directed the conversation to me and not to him. It's not good. I had to tell her that toward the end of the tour. I said, "OK, you have a very nice facility, it's very clean, and very nice." I say that, "The nurses are very attentive to the patient's needs. I think the only issue I have is the fact that you're addressing my brother and he's not the one who's making the decision, I am. So, you need to talk to me and not my brother because it's me who is the one you got to sell. Not my brother." The place, overall, was nice. It's not a big community, which is fine with me. I don't need a huge community for my father, and I think he does better in a smaller community as opposed to a large community. The rooms are really nice, big, and clean. The one room that I put a down payment on to reserve had floor to ceiling windows and overlooked the downtown area. That was nice; I liked that. It was airy and open, and I liked that a lot of sunshine was coming in to brighten things up a little bit. They were getting ready to do the assessment, and due to my father's deterioration, I could almost say that it is going to be a level four care, the highest level. In this one, in particular, any additional care that is needed, or more attention that's needed for your loved one, is going to be tied down to the rent. By the time he would have gone to level four, I would probably be paying $5,0000 instead of $4,000. I can't do it myself, so that was the only issue that I had. The library, the arts and crafts room, and everything are very nice. Of course, you pay what you get. "

"The Village of Meyerland was nice. My uncle enjoyed that one. Depending on what side you were on, there were rooms with a view that looked out over Brays Bayou. He liked the view, but he didn't like the fact that the only way he could see it was to be up high. The facility was great. The people were good. At the time, the rooms that they had available that would accommodate his needs were on the upper levels, and he wasn't comfortable with being up that high. We looked at one-bedroom apartments. The parking was fine."

"The staff at The Gardens of Bellaire is incredibly nice and dependable, they're a very patient staff. It's incredibly clean. They're doing the best they can under the circumstances with the virus to help the families stay involved even though we're kind of not allowed in. I've enjoyed getting to know them. It's a possibility for staying forever, so we'll just have to see."
