Larkspur at Shadow Creek

I visited the independent living community of Larkspur at Shadow Creek in Pearland. The environment was nice. It's a beautiful facility, and the management team was great. They had activities and gatherings. I think they also had movie nights and other things for the seniors to do. They even had outings and probably more. The person who showed me around the community was great, friendly, and helpful. She was very forthcoming and gave me all the information. She allowed me to ask questions and answered them all. The facility was clean and smelled nice. I also saw a room, and it was very nice. I like the openness and the brightness of it. Everything was also accessible from the apartment.

My sister is in Larkspur at Shadow Creek. It's a great place. It's beautiful. It outplaced all of the ones we looked at. They offer everything there. They have happy hours, they provide breakfast, and they provide some lunches. They have beautiful apartments there. It was a fantastic place for her to live. She doesn't need assistance. She was just looking for a place and I got a lot of reviews or referrals, but none of them matched this place. They have all the amenities, a hair salon, and they do pedicures. It's just fantastic. It's 55 and over. All of the people there are able to take care of themselves. They don't have nurses or anything. They got everything there. I was really happy that when we compared the prices of other places for what this place offered, there was no comparison at all. I really feel she's getting what she paid for. It's very, very comparable to what others quoted me. The apartments are just absolutely gorgeous. They have all stainless-steel appliances, and they have gorgeous countertops. They're really big apartments compared to some of the other ones that I've seen. The staff members were wonderful and absolutely fantastic. They've bent over backwards to help. I've seen the food a couple of days that we were there. They have breakfast tacos and sometimes they have a chef come in that cooks. They have a housekeeper that sometimes cooks in the morning, so they have a variety. On Friday night, they have happy hour where they have somebody that comes in and cooks and they serve beer and soft drinks, and they've got music and entertainment. It's usually all full on Friday night. It is a very large dining area where you're not crowded or anything. It's where they do a lot of the activities. They have computer rooms, and they have different rooms for different activities. They have something almost every day for someone to do like painting. The Chamber of Commerce was in there one day when I was there. They had meetings there. I haven't found any place that compared to this at all for the pricing. It's really good maintenance. This is a relatively new property. It's not that old. There are quite a few residents there. The staff is very outgoing and very friendly. They've been so helpful and very cooperative. They are basically at your beck and call. I have tried the food and it was delicious. I can't say anything other than it was the best for a community like that. You can always go back for seconds if you wanted more to eat. There's probably something there for everybody. There's panting, bingo, games, basically anything you want to do. If you want to go in there and do work on a computer, you can go in there and do that. Everything is clean. My sister hasn't had any complaints. It's been fantastic. I love this place. It's very nice and everybody was so friendly there.
