"What I like best about Hampton at Post Oak is the lobby and the people. It was very nice. There were not a lot of people sitting around looking abandoned. My first impression of it was that it was very good. It looked like a place I would want to live. The lady that took me around was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The other staff members I saw also seemed very friendly and relaxed. They were good and they seemed like they wanted to be there. However, in terms of their rooms, they were a little smaller than I thought it would be. "

"I visited The Village of Southampton about six weeks ago. I liked the fact that they had three levels of care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's all in one building. It's a high-rise building. They had activities for the people who live there. Everything was provided. They give you a list of activities for the whole month. Everything looked perfect. Everything was perfect. I saw an apartment, the dining room, the different rooms where they have activities, and I saw the vehicle that carries the people wherever they want to go. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seem to be happy there. The staff who showed me around was very professional. I didn't try the food and seeing the menus, it looked very good. And they will take care of special diets."

"I visited The Terrace at West University for myself. Their rooms were larger and I like their lay out. The staff was wonderful. The food they serve there was also fine. Their price also was excellent. I like this facility the best amongst the other facilities I visited. "

"Mom, a native Houstonian, has lived comfortably at The Villages at Tanglewood for a year now. The casual and friendly atmosphere matches how she lived in her prior home of 20 years making the transition to independent living easier. The staff are accommodating and kind. She is still mentally and physically active and what the Villages at Tanglewood do not provide, the YMCA across the street does. When my husband and I visit from Austin, we actually stay on site in one of the apartments reserved for family guests. The food is so good, we happily eat in the restaurant where the wait staff are attentive and friendly. This is a safe and happy place for Mom."

"I'm staying here and the facility is very nice, the staff is very nice and cooperative, and I really like my room. They have good activities here and I like them. I'm in a wheelchair and they have video games, which is really nice for me because I'm unable to get around. I have a scooter but it's still hard to get around. They have a lot of things that are virtual which is nice. They have art classes which I love. They have someone who comes in and teaches about technology and I love that. We have something new here, a clinic that does occupational therapy and physical therapy so that's great. I love the facility and the apartments are very nice. I have a very nice apartment, it's just what I wanted. It's hardwood floors, it has a complete kitchen with everything stainless steel, it's all topnotch, I really enjoyed it. I have a glass door shower, it's just wonderful. I'm in a wheelchair and have plenty of space to move around here."

"My mom has moved into The Village of River Oaks. We chose them primarily because it's pretty close to where we live, and they have a Hoyer lift accessibility. The place is brand new and beautiful. Everybody seems very friendly and helpful. They have activities all day long. They got puzzles, cribbage, painting, and of course they got food. There's food out for the residents all the time, and they've got outdoor areas where you can sit outside in the sunlight. They've got a nice view of downtown. They publish an itinerary every day and hand it out to all residents. They have a piano player that comes in once or twice a week and plays piano for them. I think it's pretty typical for a living facility. The food is fine. It's not Four Seasons, but it is good and it's quality food. The place is very expensive though. There's nothing perfect, but this is probably the closest you could get."

"My sister is here. The staff is great. My sister is in a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen where she can do any kind of cooking she wants. They provide meals but only during the week for breakfast and lunch. She enjoys cooking, so that is good for her. If she wants to bring up leftovers and not cook, she is able to do that. They provide transportation to wherever she needs to go. It is independent living. I am very pleased. "

"We had a very informative tour at Atria Cinco Ranch. They were able to answer all of our questions and were very friendly. The facility was well-kept and they were able to share many of the different experiences that the residents can take part in to remain vibrant and physically healthy. They offer quality meals three times a day, including snacks. We also toured several room styles and were very pleased with the amount of space and pricing attached to each offer. They offered us something to eat and surprised us with a freshly baked peach pie, which was delicious. So, we were very happy with our tour. When we visited, they were hosting a session for people that were new to the facility. They also had a happy hour that was happening just as we were leaving the facility. There was a library, different tournaments, games, and a pool. We were certain that they had several events scheduled throughout the month. They published a regular monthly calendar. They were excellent."

"The staff at Carriage Inn-Katy was attentive and informative, and they made it understandable in terms of what the options were. The building was above average. It felt comfortable and clean. As far as the layout, it's a function of what my dad's capable of, not the facility. Some of the distances from the rooms to the dining room were longer than he could probably do. That doesn't mean it's not a good facility and it doesn't mean that there may not be a room closer, but for my dad, that would be a distance too far. The common area and the dining room were on par. They were in line with the others that we've looked at recently and that means they're a plus. As far as cleanliness, it was certainly acceptable. I didn't see anything that raised concerns."

"It was excellent. They showed me a one-bedroom and it was good; they were spacious and clean. They had a laundry room, they had some open areas outside, and there was a dining room where they eat. They also have a special dining room for when family visits. It's pretty quiet and peaceful there. They have outdoor areas and you can walk outside."

"Aurora Living is a personal care home. It was nice. It was clean. It was fine. The rooms were nice. They're okay. The staff who toured us around kind of manages the place, and her name is Nikki. She was nice. She was very informative. I think she said they provide three meals a day and maybe snacks."

"I found Discovery Village Clear Lake, and I'm quite satisfied with it. They have very nice living conditions, and the residents are very nice to us. They keep my wife very well entertained. We have an extended single-bedroom apartment. They also have two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. We have very good activities such as crafts, card playing, games, and stuff like that. They have movies and out-of-building trips on the community bus."

"I liked Village on the Park because they have individual cottages. They also have everything you need in the kitchen. They said if we want to experience what it's like to live there, we can come and stay for a month. I definitely thought that was a fabulous idea. We had a meal there, but it was catered because they had a crawfish boil. They had different dining rooms for those who wanted a quick meal, and a bigger dining room for those who wanted a bigger meal. I liked that it's gated, and the staff is very nice. They also had an outdoor swimming pool."
