"The Abbey at Westminster Plaza fit our needs. We wanted a three-bedroom, two and a half bath, but the actual living/dining room was small. We ate there a couple of times, and the food and the presentation seemed to be acceptable. I would like to have a better coffee machine, but overall, we think the place is fine."

"I toured Copperfield Estates. They had all the amenities. I liked the dining area. They have a nice cycle menu. They had weekly housekeeping. They have a lot of activities. The rooms are a little smaller. The washer and dryer were on the floor and not inside the apartments. The staff is very pleasant. They have a salon and activity rooms. They have a room where they can do chair aerobics."

"Atria Westchase wasn't new, but it was very clean and didn't have any unpleasant odors. The facility was very well laid out, too. They didn't have quite as many different public areas, but the rooms were nice, and the staff was very good. My tour there was a little bit more limited. I was kind of in the back door, so I didn't get to tour all the public-area facilities. I only spoke to the sales person, but she was very pleasant and answered all my questions. It was in a very nice neighborhood."

"Village on the Park wasn't far from where I live and I just passed by, I saw it and I came in. They had what I wanted, 2 bedrooms and two full baths, car porch and a garage and that's what I was looking for. It's always clean and they keep the grounds good. For those who don't want the cottage, they have the other part where you'd be inside most of the time, you have a porch. I like it because it was a 1-level. Food is always on time. The food I like really because it is fresh cooked on ground. They feed you three times a day then you have maid service come in once a week. They have activities all that you can think of, picking up, taking you to places, going on trips, exercising, bowling, it's plenty of exercise. "

"I visited and really liked it. It's very nice. I liked the floor plan and the openness of the place. I also liked their physical fitness area and their pools because they are inside and have a Jacuzzi. They have activities, like arts and crafts and sometimes have painters who do water coloring visit, and I like that aspect. I also like that they have Bible studies and church activities. "

"I toured Emerson Pines. They were very nice. It was a nice, and spacious place. And the staff who toured me was nice and very attentive. The room was spacious and can accommodate a wheelchair for my relatives. Everything was clean."

"The location of Brookdale Memorial City is ideal for city people. It is very close to shopping, restaurants, and the interstate. Everybody I talked to was very professional and very capable. "

"I visited Atria Sugar Land and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The room was very nice and spacious, and the common areas were nice. I went into the dining room, and everything there was nice. We went and looked outside, too. The lady who gave the tour was wonderful and very nice. She took me to where they were doing some crafts. It was clean, and the people looked happy. I even talked with some of the ladies who lived there, and they told me they liked it. I would love for my mother-in-law to go there, but she's just not capable right now. The rooms I saw were fine. It's nice, and you have enough room to put a bed and a couple of chairs, or a little couch, and stuff to hold your clothing in there. The bathrooms were big, too. They had all the facilities, like the grab bars and everything. It was also very clean."

"The Buckingham was a beautiful facility. The staff was very attentive and my friend enjoyed her stay there. She was doing some rehabilitation, and each time I visited it was clean, well taken care of, and they were friendly. Another thing I was impressed with was the level of security. When you go in there they get a copy of your ID, they take pictures of it, and give you a visitor's pass even before you get past the welcome desk. I've been there three times and each time there were multiple staff members at the front desk, mostly two of them, and they were very friendly and interacted well with the residents. They also had complimentary healthy refreshments out. It was a lemon-lime and cucumber water and they made it available to everyone, residents or visitors. I had some of it and I thought that was very nice. They had personal attendants or physical therapists that would come in, take them to the rehab, and bring them back. They were engaging with the residents, and that was good. The grounds of the facility were really, really clean, but I didn't see a whole lot of extra stuff on the grounds. I've seen some places that had the trees and all of that, they had some, but not a whole lot of them. If I lived there I would like to it be a little warmer or scenic."

"I'm very happy here at Brookdale First Colony. The staff members are very efficient and very polite. The landscaping is really pretty and they had just totally recarpeted and repainted my apartment when I moved in, so it's quite lovely. It's a pretty good size for a one-bedroom and there's a nice balcony. It's a good view because I'm on the second floor. If I was on the first floor, it would be the parking lot, but I'm on the second floor, so I can see trees. There are few food choices. I don't go to the dining room very often. I usually eat on my own, but it's just a regular dining area with circular tables that can seat about five or six people and there are small square tables that will seat like two. The grounds are very pretty. The landscaping is very nice. I haven't done a whole lot, but there are quite a few activities. There is a communion service on Friday in one of the rooms. There are all kinds of trips. You can go to ATV or Kroger, the zoo, and other fun trips. Value for money is not great, but just OK."

"My husband and I moved into Park Creek. It is very organized. It is a very neat, clean, and efficient place. The meals are terrific. The only thing is, I wish they had a little bit different hours for meal times, because they have an early dinner. Except for that, everything else is just going so smoothly, and I appreciate living here. The staff has been very quick to answer questions and they are very considerate. They don't talk down to us. It is just a sweet community. We have anything that life has - beauty, nails, food, maid service, maintenance people, and they take care of the things. This is a very well-maintained facility. It's been six years and you would not know it. It looks like a new facility because it's very well maintained. There is a patio and they do provide transportation for doctor's appointments, but they charge for it."

"We went to The Tradition - Woodway this morning. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and seemed to know quite a bit about it. They have a swimming pool, a hair salon, a man's Cave with billiards, a golf simulator, a library, a workout room, and a craft room. We stopped at one of the informal snack areas. We saw the dining room. There was no food preparation going on at the time. It looked like a restaurant. The Tradition seems kind of sterile."

"The people at The Village of Tanglewood were wonderful with us. The director was incredible. We had dinner, and the food was excellent. We saw the apartments, and they were wonderful. "
