"My mom and dad moved here in November last year. It was very close to where we live. The whole staff was very friendly and caring. They were in a two-bedroom apartment, which was small, but they both seemed to be okay with that. Food was very good. My dad had to move into another facility for memory care because of dementia, so mom had to move back into their home. "

"I moved to The Abbey of Westminster, and so far I'm very, very happy. Everybody is very friendly. The food is very good. It's very convenient. All the people are smiling. Everybody seems to be happy, and nobody's complaining. They have real nice size apartments. I have a one-bedroom with a flex room. It has a full kitchen (if you want to use it), refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer in the bathroom, and a walk-in closet to hold all my clothes. I didn't look at any other place because I watched The Abbey for six years, when they first started six years ago. I told my wife at the time that we should move there. They offer everything that a person can do. It seems like there's something every hour of every day. On one specific day each week, they have an outing that they go someplace. They have a concierge. I have paid parking on the inside, and the outside you don't have to pay for it. They provide transportation to the doctor, to Kroger's, and for everything you need. It's more than adequate. I have once a week, an hour and a half of room maintenance or room cleaning. They make my bed. They pick up things. They're very, very cautious. They don't move your personal items that you have laying out. It's extremely private. For activities, they've got water aerobics every day. Once a week, they have online dancing classes and physical exercises done by video. They've got a 24-seat theater with big, comfortable black chairs. They have a movie every night at 7:00. They have the same chef that they've had for six years. They operate just like a restaurant. He changes his menu weekly. The menu comes up printed every week. It's also very, very flexible as to what you can order. There are side orders that you can order in place of those that are on the menu. Some people who are here were residents at other places, and they moved to The Abbey primarily because of the food flexibility. I know that there are places that are way more reasonable, but provide nothing other than maybe meals and a place to sleep. This is not a buy-in. There are places that are buy-ins that may have equal money value after the buy-in. They allow my dog. I have a pension and because I have Social Security, it does not cost me a lot out of my savings on a monthly basis because everything is included. They include the cable television. They can keep you busy every hour from 9:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night. The movie starts at 7:00 and goes to 10:00. They have the bible study and transportation to churches. For those people who don't want to get out, they have recordings of the different church services that are held on Sunday mornings. They show them during the daytime on Sunday."

"Atria Westchase is very professional and very helpful. Everything is immaculate. It's not real fancy, but it's very, very clean, and up to date. I have a little studio apartment and there's lots of grab bars for assistance. There are activities all day such as exercise classes, bingo, and other games. There's also a nice outdoor area with lots of porches where you can sit out. The grounds are very pretty. They have it landscaped usually and it's very accessible to a really nice porch that overlooks the ground. The food could be a little better, but I think it's probably on par for a large community. We have assigned seats and it's prepared very well. It's served hot and served from a menu. I just prefer a lot more fresh vegetables and fresh fruits."

"Aurora Living is a personal care home. It was nice. It was clean. It was fine. The rooms were nice. They're okay. The staff who toured us around kind of manages the place, and her name is Nikki. She was nice. She was very informative. I think she said they provide three meals a day and maybe snacks."

"The Buckingham was beautiful and clean. The director was wonderful. They had lots of activities, and it was a wonderful place. "

"My parents have already been in The Village of Tanglewood for three years now. They like where they are. It's "grade A" all the way. It's very, very nice and a great place. They have people who come in and sing at Christmastime, they play bingo, and there's a calendar of events on display, like in the elevator, and it tells you what's going on throughout the day. They also have a recreation room, a swimming pool, and a fitness center, and they do special things during Easter, Memorial Day, and all that."

"I took three tours here. Overall, I was very impressed with the fact that it is kind of small and intimate. You get more of a feeling of a family or a home. It's not big. I got to meet most of the staff that would be caring for my client, and I was very impressed with them. They were all very friendly. There are very few residents there right now, and they seem to interact with them on a one-on-one basis. The rooms are not that large, but they're very nice. The bathrooms are very well equipped with very large showers, which makes it easier to assist somebody with their bathing. They have a wonderful common area living room-type setting, and then a dining room where there's a full-sized refrigerator and snacks for the residents at all times. The first time I went there, a couple of the residents were finishing their lunch meals, but I was told that the caregivers eat their meals with the residents, so it's more like a sit-down family-type meal setting, and I was very impressed with that. If they needed physical therapy, they have that available, too. They have a salon and a gym area that the residents can use. They have several large common areas. There's a balcony area where you can sit outside. It's a relatively new place, so everything is nice, fresh, and new. All the staff were available to answer questions that I had."

"A Life Saver Assisted Living is an affordable way for us to be able to put our mom to be taken care of by specialized people. The staff was great. Thomas was great. It's a three-bedroom house and it's well taken care of. The environment is friendly. The rooms were OK, not big and not small."

"I toured Emerson Pines and I liked the location of it. It's very close to my work. The apartment the gentleman showed me was very nice. It's a one-bedroom apartment. He didn't show me much of the complex and I'm going to go back to see a two-bedroom just to compare and to see what else they have. It's an older facility, but it was clean. They have a place you can sit with a little putting green."

"I visited The Village of Southampton about six weeks ago. I liked the fact that they had three levels of care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's all in one building. It's a high-rise building. They had activities for the people who live there. Everything was provided. They give you a list of activities for the whole month. Everything looked perfect. Everything was perfect. I saw an apartment, the dining room, the different rooms where they have activities, and I saw the vehicle that carries the people wherever they want to go. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seem to be happy there. The staff who showed me around was very professional. I didn't try the food and seeing the menus, it looked very good. And they will take care of special diets."

"I was very impressed at The Village of River Oaks. I went to see their memory care. Everything was bright. Everybody seemed active and doing things, and the atmosphere was just nice. The staff was excellent, and the rooms were very nice. The location, for me, is excellent. It's just right down the street. I can walk to it. "

"We've decided on Village on the Park. It's going to be a new construction that is added to the independent living, so we must hold on until they complete construction. That's where my mom will be going. As soon as I found out that they were extending and expanding for the assisted living area, and also Alzheimer's wing, I knew that this was the best case scenario all the way around. My mother lived in the independent living part, and so the plus to us is that it will be familiar to her. There were a number of things that she really liked about it. They have flexible meal times. It's just not sitting down and eating at a specific time. The room is almost identical to the room that she had before and same layout as what she has now. The fact that it's new, and that we really like the place, felt very safe and secure, so we think that this is a winner. I do know that they have a variety of church services that are there that I know my mother will enjoy participating in. They have crafts. For holidays, they invite and include families. They have special times, and it'll be like going back home. The staff was great. Things that they did not have answers for, we will get answers to. I do know that they're working on that and planning and scheduling. They're very accommodating and willing to help. I've e-mailed several times, and immediately they've responded right back, so they've been very good at communicating. "

"I toured Fort Bend Gardens Apartments. It's something I've always wanted to live there, but every time I go there's a list. I had gone there like, 3 or 4 times, and the same thing that I had to wait for, so I can never get in. The place is nice because it's air-conditioned and it's a wonderful apartment. The kitchen, the living room, the bedroom, and the bathroom, it's nice. They let you decorate the outside of your door. There are other people around you, like neighbors and stuff. I like it because you can come and go if you want. They have a parking space. They were nice to greet me and allowed me to come in because they had two security doors. In front they have one of those like the speaker, so they can open a door. They have elevators. We don't have to go through stairs. They have a washer and dryer in the building."
