My mom has moved into Continued Stay Residential Care. It’s closer to home. It’s very clean and fresh inside there. Right now, they only have two people there. The director and the owner are very professional and very nice. The meals are very delicious. There are homemade meals three times a day with snacks in between. So far, my mom is very happy there.
The room is spacious and very well-kept. It is a remodeled home, so it’s brand new inside. They have a separate room for activities. They have all kinds of different things like puzzles and books. They have a whole section of memory games. The food is very delicious. And I say that because I tasted something my mom had left over. She likes it very much. The lady that makes the meal has 44 years of experience working in a cafeteria, so that’s why I say everything’s very good. The dining area is very spacious. It’s like a formal dining room in a home. The move-in experience has been excellent. They’re very welcoming people.

Cambridge Square Assisted Living has a lot of different ethnicities. It was a colorful group of individuals, and it felt nice. The front door was a push-button unlock system and should not be that hard to open for elderly individuals. The curb had a whole bunch of cracks that if an older person stepped on it, would trip and fall. The restrooms and the rooms look like they were in the 1970s. The acoustic ceiling was in bad shape. No one informed them that we were coming, so this lady tried her best and I liked her essence and her soul. She was a beautiful individual and tried to answer all my questions and feedback. She was amazing, but it was not her job to do it. I liked her but she didn’t know anything, though she tried.

I toured Landon Ridge Sugar Land Assisted Living and Memory Care. I saw a two-bedroom, but it had carpeting in it, and the carpeting had a very strong chemical smell. I think that would have been very difficult to get used to. And this was throughout the facility.
I had supper there, and it was the largest quantity of food that I had been served in any of these places. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice. They’re super accommodating, super polite, and friendly. They went out of their way to help me. It looked very nice, but with this chemical that they put on the carpeting, I would not be able to live there myself. I couldn’t handle that smell that they put in the carpeting. But I remember that the dining room was very, very nice, and very comfortable.

My mom is at Osa Heritage Homes Richmond. We chose this place because I liked the setup and the level of care they provide. Just by visiting the house and the rooms she’s staying in, I was very satisfied with everything. It was the best fit. They do games and stuff like that, but mostly they just watch T.V. and they eat around a table every meal. They make three meals a day and they have several selections. They change the menu every month and they ask if there is something that she does not like. So, they make something different for her. The staff is very caring, especially since she needs a lot of help. They assist her in getting up and getting in the wheelchair. They provide all the medical equipment. So, they have everything provided.

One of my friends back in Minnesota had his wife stricken with an ailment that has the prognosis like of ALS. I told him to consider an option to send his wife to Faith least his assets be depleated to nothing in a short time.

What to Consider About Assisted Living in Rosenberg
In Rosenberg, as in the rest of Texas, assisted living facilities are licensed by Texas Health and Human Services. This department enforces compliance with regulations pertaining to care planning, staffing and housing requirements to ensure residents’ comfort and quality of life.
Benefits and Drawbacks of Assisted Living in Rosenberg
While Rosenberg is among the more expensive cities in Texas to live in, its overall cost of living is lower than the national average. Transportation expenses, including auto insurance, public transportation and fuel, are expensive compared to the rest of the country, and miscellaneous expenses such as clothing and entertainment tend to be higher. However, housing and healthcare is relatively affordable, which can make the city a financially feasible option for retirees.
Texas’s lack of a state income tax means that seniors in Rosenberg only pay federal taxes on their retirement income, regardless of its source. This may free up more money in the budget for senior living costs.
Rosenberg’s property and violent crime rates are fairly low, which may make it a good retirement option for active seniors. On a 100-point crime index, with a lower score indicating fewer incidents of criminal activity, Rosenberg’s violent crime rate is 22.2 and its property crime rate is 28.2, compared to the respective national rates of 22.7 and 35.4.
Rosenberg’s air quality is relatively good and may benefit older adults with outdoor allergies, asthma and cardiovascular conditions. On a 100-point index, the city rates 65 compared to the national score of 58.
Rosenberg’s climate is generally comfortable, making it well-suited for those who enjoy being outside. While the summer months can be very hot and humid, the city’s weather is mild throughout the rest of the year. Year-round high temperatures range between 64 and 94 degrees, and the city gets about 50 inches of rainfall and virtually no snow.
Fort Bend Transit provides curb-to-curb shared-ride public transportation services to the general population in the Rosenberg area. To arrange transportation through this service, seniors must schedule their trip at least one day in advance. The service operates on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
