"I toured Affectionate Care Assisted Living Home. It was a great experience. The executive director took the time to explain to us in the guest room the layout of the entire facility. They gave us a rundown of the calendar of activities and the different services that are provided, as far as skilled nursing capabilities as far as medication distribution, and showering. So, we were just given a very good, thorough general scope of the facility before we began the tour to make us aware of what we would see. The staff engaged with the seniors. The tour was very detailed. We were able to see two of the different rooms that they provide. Both of those rooms were very nice and very good upkeep. I love the fact that the facility was very fresh in how it smelled. There were no odors or anything of that nature. The staff was very attentive to the needs of all of the different seniors whom we encountered, providing them with the utmost care. They were enjoying the activities that they were engaged in during the time that we visited. There was laughter. Those who were watching whatever show that they were watching were having a peaceful and good time in the facility. There are plenty of parking spaces. They're safe and open, too."

"My mother-in-law has moved to Landon Ridge Sugar Land Assisted Living and Memory Care. The place is clean, it smells good, the staff is so kind, and the food is good. We're just very impressed. She has a big, huge, open room. She came from another assisted living with a big kitchen and big bedroom, and she was able to move everything from where she came from into this place, and it fit perfectly. They provide the fridge and microwave. The staff that I met were kind and loving. I haven't had a chance to try the food yet, but my mother-in-law is really loving it. They have constant activities, programs, and shuttles, they have everything she needs. They also have a beautiful outdoor space, walkway, and gardens."

"My mother was a resident of Optimum Personal Care for a year and nine months. The staff provided the quality of care that I could no longer provide for my mother. All questions or concerns were immediately addressed by the staff and/or the owner, the facility was always neat and clean and mother enjoyed the staff and the other residents. Because I was no longer Mom's caregiver, I could just enjoy our visits without feeling tired and exhausted. We laughed more, talked more and I was able to express my love and appreciation to Mom in so many more ways because of the extra time OPC's care allowed me. I appreciate the staff and owner, and thank them for the care and kindness they displayed. "

"After spending two years in a nursing home we were blessed to happen upon Tuscany and have enjoyed the blessing for almost 3 years. The personal care is outstanding. The activities are interesting and varied to satisfy all the movement and cognizant needs of the residents. Mom is happy and healthy and that is such a relief on the family members. Visiting here is a pleasant experience because the home is a home and the atomosphere is welcoming and not clinical. Every one of the staff members are sweet, loving, attentive and properly skilled to care for Mom. We are thankful! "

"The Reserve at First Colony's assisted living was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The apartments were quiet and nice. A little bit isolated, but they were okay. The staff who toured me was very nice and very accommodating. The dining area was nice, clean, and spacious. It was a pretty friendly environment too. They have a library and a place for exercise. They also have a really nice area for the residents to just socialize."

"We chose Inspired Senior Living because of the people and the reputation. It's beautiful, bright, fresh, caring, and very well appointed. They have good staff. I have not moved my in-laws in yet, but the tour was beautiful. I personally want to live there myself. They have a fishing pond and a pool, which has water therapy in it. They have a tiki bar, a movie theater, a beauty salon, a barbershop, a pool room, a card room, a game room, and a coffee cafe. They have a chef on staff, too. It is not just three square meals a day; you can eat whenever you want from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The food was fantastic."

"We liked Atria Cinco Ranch, but it's over the top of my mother-in-law's budget. It had the most amenities out of all the ones we visited. It had one and one-and-a-half bedrooms and they had this little alcove that could be used for a desk or something off the kitchen, which was nice. They didn't have anything that she'd be able to get the dog out though, but it was probably the best setup of all of them. The one-bedroom deluxe had an office nook off of the great room where you had the kitchen. Then you had your living area, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom. You had this large area that would make a nice little setup for a sewing room, painting area, computer area, reading nook with a bookcase if you wanted, or a lounge for visitors to lie down instead of sitting in the living room while you're trying to take a nap, which was a little more private area. The staff had the information at her fingertips or could consult a notebook real quick that she had with her to make sure she was giving you the right figure for the rent. They had a couple of empty rooms that were getting new carpet and repainted and one was in process and the other one was move-in ready. They had the dining room and they had a casual sandwich bar type of setup that was available around lunch for people who didn't want to go to the dining room to eat. The only problem they had was they only gave you 20 meals a week and they had to fend for themselves one meal on Sunday because the kitchen was closed that time. It was gorgeous. The room was just a little small for me."

"We place my mother at Optimum Personal Care. She has been there since September. We chose it because it is well staffed. The ratio is 5-to-1. It is very clean and has no odor whatsoever. The people are very nice and seem to be fit for the kind of work that they are doing. They are very attentive to the clients. They just do an excellent job. I have never seen a place run so well. The other reason is that it is small. They have two houses and/or buildings, and I think the maximum number in the one she is in is 10. So, there is a large living room area, and then there are rooms around that area. So, if she has a need, she can just speak loudly; even though she wears a device around her neck, she will be able to get the attention that she needs. We like that rather than a large place. "

"We visited both the assisted living and memory care at Carriage Inn-Katy. It is one of my favorites, because the location is very convenient for me. The staff was very friendly and everything was well-maintained. The price was very reasonable compared to the others. It wasn't too fancy of a place, but it was very nice. They had an option of a menu and then the residents could order from that, like an a la carte from a few options, which I thought was nice. One thing that was also very good about them was, compared to other places that I've been to, they didn't have a fixed schedule to eat. It could vary. So, they could choose what time they wanted to eat. They also have bingo, a happy hour, and live music. I could see that the residents were enjoying that. Sounds like they had a good chance of socializing. The rooms were very nice and well taken care of. It's not brand new, but everything was very, very nice. The assisted living was actually pet-friendly."

"I am impressed and grateful at the effort that Sharon puts in to making sure her residents get to their medical appointments. Sharon calls the medical providers to make appointments and brings them to the medical facilities. She keeps track of people's treatment plans and follow up appointments. Sharon is also attentive to making sure patients take their prescribed medication. "

"The Reserve at Katy has 35 rooms available, but they are under new management. So they're going to be under renovation, like new carpet, new paint job, new decorations, and everything, and so that's going to go on this fall. However, it is one of the things that bothers us because, with my friend and her blindness, she can't see when things are in the way, and so we don't want her to have a problem because of something being left lying on the floor or something. The rooms were very nice, though. I didn't think they needed renovation with new furniture, new carpet, and everything. The activity center seemed pretty old-looking and could use some updates. The cafeteria was not anything exceptional. We met the chef there, and he has been there for 26 years. Their area is a little bit of a walk for my friend to go to, like the movie theater and the dining hall. It isn't nearly as close as it is at the other place. We are thinking of my friend's abilities and stuff, and we don't want it to be a hindrance for her to want to come out of her room because it is too far to go do something. The lady who gave us the tour was very pleasant, though. She was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. They were very on top of it, and I think it was one of our longer tours. I think we were there closer to an hour and a half."

"They provide excellent service. The staff is caring, friendly and efficient. They provide an opportunity to participate in a number of activities daily. Excellent food service and food choices. Great place to live."
