"I moved to The Abbey of Westminster, and so far I'm very, very happy. Everybody is very friendly. The food is very good. It's very convenient. All the people are smiling. Everybody seems to be happy, and nobody's complaining. They have real nice size apartments. I have a one-bedroom with a flex room. It has a full kitchen (if you want to use it), refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer in the bathroom, and a walk-in closet to hold all my clothes. I didn't look at any other place because I watched The Abbey for six years, when they first started six years ago. I told my wife at the time that we should move there. They offer everything that a person can do. It seems like there's something every hour of every day. On one specific day each week, they have an outing that they go someplace. They have a concierge. I have paid parking on the inside, and the outside you don't have to pay for it. They provide transportation to the doctor, to Kroger's, and for everything you need. It's more than adequate. I have once a week, an hour and a half of room maintenance or room cleaning. They make my bed. They pick up things. They're very, very cautious. They don't move your personal items that you have laying out. It's extremely private. For activities, they've got water aerobics every day. Once a week, they have online dancing classes and physical exercises done by video. They've got a 24-seat theater with big, comfortable black chairs. They have a movie every night at 7:00. They have the same chef that they've had for six years. They operate just like a restaurant. He changes his menu weekly. The menu comes up printed every week. It's also very, very flexible as to what you can order. There are side orders that you can order in place of those that are on the menu. Some people who are here were residents at other places, and they moved to The Abbey primarily because of the food flexibility. I know that there are places that are way more reasonable, but provide nothing other than maybe meals and a place to sleep. This is not a buy-in. There are places that are buy-ins that may have equal money value after the buy-in. They allow my dog. I have a pension and because I have Social Security, it does not cost me a lot out of my savings on a monthly basis because everything is included. They include the cable television. They can keep you busy every hour from 9:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night. The movie starts at 7:00 and goes to 10:00. They have the bible study and transportation to churches. For those people who don't want to get out, they have recordings of the different church services that are held on Sunday mornings. They show them during the daytime on Sunday."

"We visited the assisted living facility of Carriage Inn - Katy, and also saw their independent living. What stood out for us was their very caring and fun staff. All the residents also seemed to really love the place. They came up to us and were just expressing how much they loved it there and how great the staff was. My parents liked the food, too. They let us have lunch there twice, and the food was really good. They have a good variety, and everybody in the community was coming up to us, telling us how good the chef was and how much they enjoyed the food. The apartments were really spacious compared to some others that we visited. The staff members were also really good with my parents and answered all of our questions. They seemed to enjoy their job. Everything in the facility was also clean. The place is older, but they've maintained it well. It's also all in one story, which was a big thing for my parents. They didn't want a multi-level facility."

"My husband is at Atria Westchase. I have no complaints. I have not spoken to him in detail about his experience, but he has had no complaints about the staff or any other aspects of his life there. He has been there for three weeks now. I chose it because it has all the amenities he needed. They had transportation, a studio apartment, and the location was good. Those were some of the features that were important to us. The staff was easy to work with. They have Covid restrictions for visits, so I haven't visited him, but I have been there to leave items for him and to pick up items from him. He is very comfortable there and he has never said one negative thing about the place. The people with whom I've interacted were very helpful, and based on what I have seen, the facility is OK. Compared to other facilities that provide the same services, I'm satisfied with the value for money."

"Aurora Living is a personal care home. It was nice. It was clean. It was fine. The rooms were nice. They're okay. The staff who toured us around kind of manages the place, and her name is Nikki. She was nice. She was very informative. I think she said they provide three meals a day and maybe snacks."

"I like the atmosphere here and I like all the employees. Everybody is cheerful and does a good job. We have a menu when we order or we go to the dining room and eat. The food is good. The facility is great. I have two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. They have Bridge and all kinds of card games, painting classes, exercise classes, anything you might want, and they take tours outside to art galleries and restaurants. The staff is great."

"Mom, a native Houstonian, has lived comfortably at The Villages at Tanglewood for a year now. The casual and friendly atmosphere matches how she lived in her prior home of 20 years making the transition to independent living easier. The staff are accommodating and kind. She is still mentally and physically active and what the Villages at Tanglewood do not provide, the YMCA across the street does. When my husband and I visit from Austin, we actually stay on site in one of the apartments reserved for family guests. The food is so good, we happily eat in the restaurant where the wait staff are attentive and friendly. This is a safe and happy place for Mom."

"My sister is here. The staff is great. My sister is in a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen where she can do any kind of cooking she wants. They provide meals but only during the week for breakfast and lunch. She enjoys cooking, so that is good for her. If she wants to bring up leftovers and not cook, she is able to do that. They provide transportation to wherever she needs to go. It is independent living. I am very pleased. "

"I took three tours here. Overall, I was very impressed with the fact that it is kind of small and intimate. You get more of a feeling of a family or a home. It's not big. I got to meet most of the staff that would be caring for my client, and I was very impressed with them. They were all very friendly. There are very few residents there right now, and they seem to interact with them on a one-on-one basis. The rooms are not that large, but they're very nice. The bathrooms are very well equipped with very large showers, which makes it easier to assist somebody with their bathing. They have a wonderful common area living room-type setting, and then a dining room where there's a full-sized refrigerator and snacks for the residents at all times. The first time I went there, a couple of the residents were finishing their lunch meals, but I was told that the caregivers eat their meals with the residents, so it's more like a sit-down family-type meal setting, and I was very impressed with that. If they needed physical therapy, they have that available, too. They have a salon and a gym area that the residents can use. They have several large common areas. There's a balcony area where you can sit outside. It's a relatively new place, so everything is nice, fresh, and new. All the staff were available to answer questions that I had."

"My tour at Brookdale Galleria was alright. It was good. The staff was good. The apartment was fine, it was very similar to where my mother is now. It was farther away than I wanted it to be. They have a pool and a lounge with a piano and they have entertainment. The dining area is very similar to what is in my mother's facility, it's just a dining room with various tables. I'll say it's a fine place. The services that they provide are ample. They have bingo, chair exercises, crafts, sewing, and painting."

"A Life Saver Assisted Living is an affordable way for us to be able to put our mom to be taken care of by specialized people. The staff was great. Thomas was great. It's a three-bedroom house and it's well taken care of. The environment is friendly. The rooms were OK, not big and not small."

"We went to StoneCreek of Copperfield. We weren't that pleased with them. It wasn't very good, but it's very clean and the staff we met, I liked."

"I decided to go with Copperfield Estates. We went there and we liked it from the beginning. They were friendly. The girl helped us a lot and gave us all the information we needed. They weren't pushy or anything. They just gave us the basics and it looked nice. The building was very nice. That's what drew us to it, to begin with, and all the activities they had. The rooms were OK. They could have been a little bit bigger, but you don't need that much at our age. I felt like I was home."
