"I toured The Solana Preserve Vintage Park, and it was awesome. It was amazing. It just wasn't what we needed. I physically went in and I spoke with Sierra but we didn't go very far other than the lobby, the eating area, and the little bar area because sitting and talking with her, we realized that what my mom needed, the facility wasn't going to suffice, unfortunately. They were all very friendly, mild-mannered when you were speaking with them, very easy to talk to, eager to help, wanted to make sure that they were trying to find a way to meet my parents' needs, I thought that was great. It's beautiful. It's like a higher-end hotel. It looks like an amazing facility. It looks very nice when you walk in, it's very nicely decorated, and you're greeted by a nice person at the front desk. It's very bright."

"The Village at Gleannloch Farms has a Wellness and Navigation Program. This gives you peace of mind that even though you are independent, you have access to a person who helps you plan your steps to be able to continue to actively age in place. They have licensed private duty. Very active residents and activities."

"I toured Heritage Tomball. It was very pleasant. I had a young lady named Mary. She was very straightforward, very polite, and very pleasant to talk to. She answered my questions. The reason I went back the second time was because my mom was asking for a different floor plan, and so I had only looked at it the very first time. They were very small, just a bedroom, which my mom did not want, so I went back a second time just to look at a bigger room. Mary was there and still once again spent plenty of time with me. I didn't feel rushed like I was with some of the other places. The only thing that I did not like was its one story and my mom is in a wheelchair. In order for her to get to whatever room she would be in the dining room is quite a waste. It's a very, very long hall. That's my only issue. So, I mean, that's not that big of a deal. She could probably call for help because it might take her a while, and she might miss lunch or dinner by the time she got there. The heritage seems to be reasonable, and Mary even said that she could possibly get the rental down even a little bit more for us, so nobody else had ever said that to me before. No complaints. The location is great, right by the hospital, and right across from my doctor's office, if she needs a female doctor or anything like that, and about 20 minutes from me. The facility didn't smell bad. Everybody was pleasant. The staff members that would walk by me would say hello to me."

"I like Aurora Living. The person that was there was very nice. He showed me around and explained the place to me. It was a very nice place and it was clean. They had a patio."

"Paradise Springs is a nice place, and it is on our list of the ones that we're considering. We enjoyed it. The rooms were beautiful, and they were the biggest rooms. They had more space than the other two facilities we've visited so far. They had beautiful bathrooms, too. Everything was nice, and the cost was very reasonable. The staff members were all very nice and professional. The dining area was also nice. They offered a lot of activities, but not as many as we would be interested in."

"It was amazing and the lady who gave us the tour was very helpful. They had a wonderful dining room, a chef who prepared their meals, and a guest room for family members when they come in from out of town where they can actually have lunch or dinner with you. If you don't want what's on the menu, they had a separate menu for sandwiches. They also had a little grocery store and pharmacy, washers, dryers, and craft room in the apartment complex. Their apartments were amazing."

"My husband will move into the Ella Springs Senior Living Community. The reason I liked Ella Springs is that they were Christians, and also, they seemed nicer and excited about my husband coming. Their activities were every hour. I noticed they would say hi to the other clients there. It was a better thing than the other places. The other places were a little colder and even nicer than Ella Springs, but they just weren't homey and really nice. The activities person, the director, the different things, the different people were just very warm and would show you things, and it was way better. They would welcome you to come and pick them up and take them home, or take them out for lunch, or something like that. They were very nice. I just liked it. If I were in that situation, I would like to stay there myself. The staff were outstanding. They tried to go the extra mile, and they were just excited about what they were doing and the activities. They have popcorn, movies, and karaoke. They said that my husband wouldn't be alone. They'd get him, take him to the library, and help him pick out a book. He wouldn't be by himself, wandering around. They would help him. They had awards on the wall for their meals, and I thought that was really good."

"It was nice. I had a nice tour with them. The place was very nice, clean, and cheerful. I met the assistant manager, the dietitian, and the physical therapist. Everybody was so nice to me. They showed me all the rooms; some were single and some were shared rooms. The rooms were very nice. I saw their menu and they had very nice, balanced diet."

"We visited Brookdale Memorial City. The staff was very informative. It was very clean. She showed us everything. We met people as we were on the tour. They have a one-bedroom apartment. They supply a refrigerator and a stove. In the bathroom, there's a call button if there is an emergency. They also have a dishwasher. They provide two meals, breakfast and lunch. The staff was great. She has checked up on us several times."

"The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is really nice. There is a totally different look about it. I really like it, but it is just too far from all the things my parents need to be around. They also have assisted living, so they have a doctor on-site who can come and visit the independent living ones, too. They have some rehab people on-site or somebody that you can hire, and they come in and do rehab. They have a rehab room there. They have a whole room full of jigsaw puzzles and ladies doing puzzles. It seemed like fun; it was really nice. It was the same price as the other place, but they didn't have covered parking. It is definitely newer than the other one. It is more modern, new -ooking, and more ranch-style. They have a beautiful outdoor patio in between their buildings."

"I moved to Oak Park Retirement Resort because of the quality. I have one bedroom and one bath. They got all kinds of things going on all the time. They got Wii bowling, bingo, poker games, and card games. They have everything. The staff is very friendly, and I also gained a lot of weight here. It's pricey, but I can afford it."

"We visited the assisted living facility of Carriage Inn - Katy, and also saw their independent living. What stood out for us was their very caring and fun staff. All the residents also seemed to really love the place. They came up to us and were just expressing how much they loved it there and how great the staff was. My parents liked the food, too. They let us have lunch there twice, and the food was really good. They have a good variety, and everybody in the community was coming up to us, telling us how good the chef was and how much they enjoyed the food. The apartments were really spacious compared to some others that we visited. The staff members were also really good with my parents and answered all of our questions. They seemed to enjoy their job. Everything in the facility was also clean. The place is older, but they've maintained it well. It's also all in one story, which was a big thing for my parents. They didn't want a multi-level facility."
