"My brother is currently in The Solana Preserve Vintage Park, and it is very good. They are very attentive to you. They have a 1-bedroom unit and a 2-bedroom unit. They have what they call an emergency bell. If you don't ring it by 10:30 in the morning, they would come and check on you. The place is very neat, and it's very nice. They have a bingo night, and they have a dance night. They have swimming pools, and they have what they call the man cave (where men can go build things). They have a hair salon. They have a therapy room, just in case you need therapy. The staff know you by name. They know the visitors that come in regularly by name. They have ping-pong, and billiards."

"I have known about The Village at Gleannloch Farms. I watched them being built from the very start. It is really one of the finest providers that I have ever seen. It was really upper class, and it was really quite nice when we visited. I like the staff there. The food and the dining rooms were excellent. They have bistro and cafeteria-style, and then they have a very formal dining room. The rooms were fine. The only thing there was that their two-bedroom apartments were extremely small. They were only 600 square feet. They were not big enough for two people. "

"I toured Heritage Tomball. It was very pleasant. I had a young lady named Mary. She was very straightforward, very polite, and very pleasant to talk to. She answered my questions. The reason I went back the second time was because my mom was asking for a different floor plan, and so I had only looked at it the very first time. They were very small, just a bedroom, which my mom did not want, so I went back a second time just to look at a bigger room. Mary was there and still once again spent plenty of time with me. I didn't feel rushed like I was with some of the other places. The only thing that I did not like was its one story and my mom is in a wheelchair. In order for her to get to whatever room she would be in the dining room is quite a waste. It's a very, very long hall. That's my only issue. So, I mean, that's not that big of a deal. She could probably call for help because it might take her a while, and she might miss lunch or dinner by the time she got there. The heritage seems to be reasonable, and Mary even said that she could possibly get the rental down even a little bit more for us, so nobody else had ever said that to me before. No complaints. The location is great, right by the hospital, and right across from my doctor's office, if she needs a female doctor or anything like that, and about 20 minutes from me. The facility didn't smell bad. Everybody was pleasant. The staff members that would walk by me would say hello to me."

"I like Aurora Living. The person that was there was very nice. He showed me around and explained the place to me. It was a very nice place and it was clean. They had a patio."

"Paradise Springs is a nice place, and it is on our list of the ones that we're considering. We enjoyed it. The rooms were beautiful, and they were the biggest rooms. They had more space than the other two facilities we've visited so far. They had beautiful bathrooms, too. Everything was nice, and the cost was very reasonable. The staff members were all very nice and professional. The dining area was also nice. They offered a lot of activities, but not as many as we would be interested in."

"It was amazing and the lady who gave us the tour was very helpful. They had a wonderful dining room, a chef who prepared their meals, and a guest room for family members when they come in from out of town where they can actually have lunch or dinner with you. If you don't want what's on the menu, they had a separate menu for sandwiches. They also had a little grocery store and pharmacy, washers, dryers, and craft room in the apartment complex. Their apartments were amazing."

"It was nice. I had a nice tour with them. The place was very nice, clean, and cheerful. I met the assistant manager, the dietitian, and the physical therapist. Everybody was so nice to me. They showed me all the rooms; some were single and some were shared rooms. The rooms were very nice. I saw their menu and they had very nice, balanced diet."

"Brookdale Memorial City had models where you could see the single and double rooms already furnished, which I liked. Their prices were cheaper. We ate at their place and their food was awesome. The staff and everybody that we met was great. They have a little place, a bistro, where you can order sandwiches."

"The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living was a brand-new place. We just felt that it wasn't established. They were still adding things and just opening up, so they weren't complete on that, but it was a very nice facility. We're looking for a more established place. We toured the independent living. The dining facility, recreation area, and theater room were very nice. They had a snack area where you could get snacks and things. The rooms themselves were very nice. The staff was good. They were new, but they did answer all questions that we had."

"When we toured Oak Park Retirement Resort, I really liked the feel of the community. It was very updated, and very organized. You walk in, you feel welcome. It was just very nice and very pleasant. They were very welcoming. Not only did the facility manager come to give us a tour, but some of the other staff came up to greet us, to let us know that they were there all the time. She was very warm and welcoming; she gives you a feeling of confidence. I did not try the food, but I watched them cook and serve it. Their scratch kitchen was preparing the food. It looked good. It wasn't large quantities on the serving table at one time; they were pretty regular as needed. I liked that they had a window of opportunity to come and eat. I liked that they had room service for free. If you didn't want to come down, they would give you room service. That was very good."

"The people at Carriage Inn - Katy were very accommodating, very kind, fun, and sweet. We toured their independent living community for our aunt. They took us to see a model of a 1-bedroom place because that's all she wants. She didn't want to be with anybody else. It's a nice-sized room, around 350 square feet, which is enough for one person. When I saw it, I was thrilled. I think this is perfect, and it's close to us, so if she needs us for any reason, we're just two miles apart. Everything was nice. In fact, they were having a party in one room with a lot of the residents there singing Christmas carols because it was right before Christmas. It's independent living, and if you need to, they get you a step up to assisted living. Meals are included, and it looks very good. They've even invited us to come have dinner. Their dining area is absolutely clean and beautiful. They serve ice cream and cookies any time you want them, and they have all kinds of stuff. They've also got plenty of parking for the residents and visitors."
