"My father is in Paradise Springs. We chose it because it's close to his current residence and his friends, and he liked it. My father tells me everybody knows his name and he likes that. The food is good, but they're a little slow to get it out. The weekend food service is very slow. It takes over an hour to eat. They have cornhole. They have bowling, religious services, and movie nights. He goes for drinks at the bar. He's very happy. The amenities are good. They have a place where you can get your haircut, and they have a pool table."

"The staff was very friendly at the Forum at the Woodlands and very knowledgeable about the questions that I asked. They had everything that I think that you would need for independent living, they covered just about everything. The only problem is, I am really not ready to move from my house yet. I really liked most of the friendly staff -- the meals looked delicious and everything is clean. I like the gardens and the landscaping, I would recommend the facility and I liked it very much. There seemed to be a very full complement of things to do -- you would not get bored. They have apartments and cottages, and they were spacious. "

"My mom moved here. It's assisted living and we like that they have an outside garden area she can go to. It has a lot of shady oaks and they encourage gardening and planting tomatoes. It has all the activities, she's already got out of her room and played Bingo. They have a walking trail around the building, they have all the garden area inside or they can go and they have the squirrels and the birds. You can hang up your bird feeders and plant. There are no amenities like a swimming pool. This is not for somebody that can go swimming. Once a week, they do have the beauty salon open and a Bible reading or chapel area. We're still going through the adjustment period of when she gets her shower and when they do laundry because they do the laundry. They do the housekeeping once a week. We're still working on getting the kinks out and who to talk to for the different things going on. I'm sure it's all going to be fine, but we're going through that new period where we're still learning. I sat down and had a meal with her and it was very good. The facility is a little bit old but it's still pretty clean."

"The rooms at Ella Springs are very spacious and clean. They have lots of activities, plus a weight room, a spa, a salon, theater room, activity room, private family gathering room, and an outdoor garden. The staff is very caring, very interested, and very helpful."

"Village on the Park wasn't far from where I live and I just passed by, I saw it and I came in. They had what I wanted, 2 bedrooms and two full baths, car porch and a garage and that's what I was looking for. It's always clean and they keep the grounds good. For those who don't want the cottage, they have the other part where you'd be inside most of the time, you have a porch. I like it because it was a 1-level. Food is always on time. The food I like really because it is fresh cooked on ground. They feed you three times a day then you have maid service come in once a week. They have activities all that you can think of, picking up, taking you to places, going on trips, exercising, bowling, it's plenty of exercise. "

"Copperfield Estates has lots of interaction. The environment was friendly. They were very supportive, assisting me and giving me directions. They have lots of recreational areas. The rooms were nice size. They were fairly affordable. I don't have anything negative to say about it. They're my first choice. They're the most economical, but they still are a little more than what we want to pay."

"I liked Arella Forest at Woodland. The apartments were really laid out for an independent living situation. It worked to my mom's advantage. As far as she's not interested in the meals, we run into so many places where you have to purchase the meal plan, which stores everything up to $3,000, and my mother doesn't eat. So this was appealing to us from that factor. Plus, it was close to where I live. I really liked the community, that is probably one of my number one choices. The staff was very nice, she took us to the apartments that we wanted to look at, and was most helpful with the information. We looked at three different floor plans, a smaller one bedroom, a larger one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. So they had lots of options. The prices were reasonable. They had a pool, an exercise room, a card room, and they had quite a lovely monthly planner that they use. My sister was like, "When can I sign up and go there?""

"I moved into The Lakes at Woodhaven Village. Everything is fine. There have been several items that I have asked for service on and they've complied with every request that I've asked for. I'm pretty happy that I'm living there. I like that it's brand new. I like that the kitchen is big. I like that the people are friendly and that it's quiet."

"I went to look at Woodhaven Village. They gave me a printout of the food choices that they had that week. They had cottages that were away from the main building which had a garage and a yard. You had to walk over to the main building for any activities or dinner or food. They didn't have a swimming pool, but they're getting ready to build one. Everything is very nice and well kept up."

"My mother is in Emerson Pines. It is a community and I like that it's gated. They have security, and they have a little gym, meals, and some activities. We need to have those activities where my mom can exercise and have some social time as well. The person that helped us with the process was nice. They were very accommodating with our schedule. We're very happy with them. She has a one-bedroom apartment, but they have different sizes. They have yoga, dancing, karaoke, and bingo. They offer transportation to the grocery store. It's like a little shuttle that takes the seniors to places. The facility is really good. Her apartment is impeccable. Value for money is fair. It is not cheap, but it was not expensive either."
