"Everybody at The Village of River Oaks was very welcoming. The rooms felt nicer. I felt like I could live there myself. It seemed like they spent a lot of attention on their residents. It was very nice. It felt more like I was living in an apartment or something like that, with staff to help me. It had a good feel to it. They have an area where they do a lot of their gatherings. They had a nice dining area. They also had a valet and a salon where they could get their nails and hair done. It seemed a little bit more posh. It was very clean, too. You could tell that they took very good care of it. I liked it. The people were very helpful. They were very nice. I saw some of the residents there. They all look like they were well taken care of. Everybody seems to be pretty happy there."

"What I like best about Hampton at Post Oak is the lobby and the people. It was very nice. There were not a lot of people sitting around looking abandoned. My first impression of it was that it was very good. It looked like a place I would want to live. The lady that took me around was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The other staff members I saw also seemed very friendly and relaxed. They were good and they seemed like they wanted to be there. However, in terms of their rooms, they were a little smaller than I thought it would be. "

"I cannot say enough good things about Everywhere Is Home. Their staff has become like family to us and they take excellent care of my husband. It truly is like home and he is extremely happy there. He requires extra care and I pop in and out at odd times because it’s close to our home and I’ve never had a problem with anything. If you’re looking for a good place with personal attention to your loved one, I would highly recommend Everywhere Is Home."

"My first choice is Village of Tanglewood. The facility was really good, and the rooms were really nice. The lady who toured me around was very friendly. They didn't feed me at all, but it was a typical dining room. It was the best that I saw because it appeared to be brand new. The rooms were about what I expected."

"I'm staying here and the facility is very nice, the staff is very nice and cooperative, and I really like my room. They have good activities here and I like them. I'm in a wheelchair and they have video games, which is really nice for me because I'm unable to get around. I have a scooter but it's still hard to get around. They have a lot of things that are virtual which is nice. They have art classes which I love. They have someone who comes in and teaches about technology and I love that. We have something new here, a clinic that does occupational therapy and physical therapy so that's great. I love the facility and the apartments are very nice. I have a very nice apartment, it's just what I wanted. It's hardwood floors, it has a complete kitchen with everything stainless steel, it's all topnotch, I really enjoyed it. I have a glass door shower, it's just wonderful. I'm in a wheelchair and have plenty of space to move around here."

"We toured The Buckingham, and it was very nice. It was the second that we would have chosen, if we hadn't gone with the other community. It was just very professional. The guy that gave us the tour gave us the answer to all of the questions. We visited with some people very briefly that were there, and they were all positive. It just looked like it would be a nice place to live. It was clean and big. They had a swimming pool and trails. The apartments were very nice. They had one on the bottom floor, which was attractive to us because we had a pet. We thought about it, but we decided that we could go with an upper floor. The meal plan and everything that they had was good. The only reason we went with another facility is that they were going to bankruptcy. We just felt like that was a negative that kept us from going to them. They got a lot of nice features and several different living areas. We were able to see three different apartments."

"I toured Cypress Gardens Apartments, and it's good. The staff who gave the tour was good and nice. The apartment looked very nice. Their apartments have individual kitchens. They have activities that you can go to, like bingo and card games. They have a gym where you can work out. They have a swimming pool. They have a balcony outside the bedroom. You can go out there and stand or sit on the balcony, which overlooks the swimming pool. It's very clean and well-organized."

"We toured Brookdale First Colony. It's decent. It's quiet. It's not upscale and not the best of the art, but if you compare it to what you get or what you pay, it's adequate. It's appropriate. The rooms are fine, very roomy, bright, and neatly, cleanly kept. Logan is the person who gave us the tour, pretty courteous. We check all the rooms right there. Somebody in the library is doing the puzzles, and somebody in the activity room is playing cards."

"I have chosen Chesapeake Bay Luxury Active Senior Community because it is fairly new, just about four years old. I was able to get an apartment that had never been lived in before. They have a full-size swimming pool, a pool table, a gym, and monthly pool parties. Actually, tomorrow we're going to have a potluck dinner and a karaoke party. And at the end of the month, they have another party scheduled. We have weekly poker games, bingo games, and other activities. The staff here is excellent. The quality of the food is good, but they are not always available. They usually have a schedule and tell you what the menu is going to be. The whole facility is built around a courtyard and around a pool. It's a three-story structure, but they also have individual cottages spread around. I'm on the second floor of the tower."

"The welcome hostess at the Atria Sugar Land was very polite and informative as we entered. She directed us to our tour guide, who was one of the directors and was also very knowledgeable, and took us on an amazing tour. She gave us all the details of the services and amenities that were provided. We were able to view several rooms. We also saw how the seniors who live there at the senior living community, as well as the assisted senior living area, and how they operated with a lot of care. They're very professional and excellent. The community was very well-kept. It felt like home. It was an overall great experience. We were then brought in to go over the specific details. We were provided pamphlets, and brochures and even resources for things that are outside of the scope that we may need for our loved one. Then, to top it off, they gave us a fresh box of amazing, delicious chocolate chip cookies as a dessert as we departed. So, it was really, really amazing. The rooms were very spacious. They are above average from what I've seen at a traditional assisted living place, in the upwards of 950 up to 1200 square feet. The parking area was very spacious, too."

"This facility has a lot of space. Each resident is assign to a apartment that has a bathroom, living room, and kitchen. Its pretty big. All the apartments are join in together similar to a nice hotel. There are staff there 24 hours a day for medical assistants if needed. When i was there i saw a resident that was very ill, he was having complications with the flu. The staff went above and beyond the scope of their employment to make sure he was compfortable, taking all his medicine and that he was getting better. They did a great job in assisting this ewsident with great care! "

"I just moved to Brookdale Memorial City in Houston, an independent living community. It's been good and fun. I don't have any problem. I have an apartment which is nice and big enough for me. The place is very warm, and the upkeep is great. The staff is also very patient and understanding. I tried the food, and it was great."

"I moved to The Abbey of Westminster, and so far I'm very, very happy. Everybody is very friendly. The food is very good. It's very convenient. All the people are smiling. Everybody seems to be happy, and nobody's complaining. They have real nice size apartments. I have a one-bedroom with a flex room. It has a full kitchen (if you want to use it), refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer in the bathroom, and a walk-in closet to hold all my clothes. I didn't look at any other place because I watched The Abbey for six years, when they first started six years ago. I told my wife at the time that we should move there. They offer everything that a person can do. It seems like there's something every hour of every day. On one specific day each week, they have an outing that they go someplace. They have a concierge. I have paid parking on the inside, and the outside you don't have to pay for it. They provide transportation to the doctor, to Kroger's, and for everything you need. It's more than adequate. I have once a week, an hour and a half of room maintenance or room cleaning. They make my bed. They pick up things. They're very, very cautious. They don't move your personal items that you have laying out. It's extremely private. For activities, they've got water aerobics every day. Once a week, they have online dancing classes and physical exercises done by video. They've got a 24-seat theater with big, comfortable black chairs. They have a movie every night at 7:00. They have the same chef that they've had for six years. They operate just like a restaurant. He changes his menu weekly. The menu comes up printed every week. It's also very, very flexible as to what you can order. There are side orders that you can order in place of those that are on the menu. Some people who are here were residents at other places, and they moved to The Abbey primarily because of the food flexibility. I know that there are places that are way more reasonable, but provide nothing other than maybe meals and a place to sleep. This is not a buy-in. There are places that are buy-ins that may have equal money value after the buy-in. They allow my dog. I have a pension and because I have Social Security, it does not cost me a lot out of my savings on a monthly basis because everything is included. They include the cable television. They can keep you busy every hour from 9:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night. The movie starts at 7:00 and goes to 10:00. They have the bible study and transportation to churches. For those people who don't want to get out, they have recordings of the different church services that are held on Sunday mornings. They show them during the daytime on Sunday."

"I really like the community, and I like the people. The thing I like the most about is instead of being like a hotel apartment living, it enters from a garden area or from the outside rather than from a hallway, which kind of gives it more feeling of independence. They have a really nice cafeteria, and they take care of the prescriptions there, so you don't have to drive to a pharmacy. There's plenty of nice enclosed parking, so it's very safe. The people themselves were very nice, and the gentleman I talked to was very informative and understanding. He listened to me in what I was looking for and what my needs were, and he didn't try to show me something other than what fit my needs which had a big influence on me. "
