"I toured Cypress Woods. Everybody was very pleasant and smiling, and all the staff seemed to want to help, caring. I saw one helping a guy get into his chair and directing properly so he wouldn't run over people. Everything was clean. It was very pleasant. I wouldn't mind living there, I just don't have the money. The staff showed me a studio, and it's not what I'm used to. I'm used to a lot more room. I thought it was small. She walked me through the dining room and shared with me the menu. The dining area was very pleasant, clean, and open, like a restaurant."

"Fountainwood at Lake Houston is very fancy pansy. It is very nice. It is a newer than the other facility. They provide three meals, but no snacks. And they have cleaning services once every two weeks. The apartments are large and very nice. There are lights coming in. They have lots of windows and kitchen areas with stoves and refrigerators. We had lunch there and it was very good."

"Enclave at Lake Pointe was nice and new. Anisha, who works in the office, was very helpful. The people in the customer service were accommodating and friendly. It was close to a lot of things like Walmart, grocery stores, and Whataburger. Especially for affordable living, my family thought it was pretty good. The only thing was they didn't have a washer and dryer in the apartment."

"It was nice. I had a nice tour with them. The place was very nice, clean, and cheerful. I met the assistant manager, the dietitian, and the physical therapist. Everybody was so nice to me. They showed me all the rooms; some were single and some were shared rooms. The rooms were very nice. I saw their menu and they had very nice, balanced diet."

"Cypress Gardens Apartments is a very good community. It seems like they have apartments, but not in the price point we're looking for. The room was very clean. They also have an elevator. Everything looked clean and very well taken care of. The staff members were very open, sympathetic, and very kind. They have a pool that is working, and then they have a common area where people can come in just to meet others. They also have a common place with computers where they can come and check anything if they need to."

"The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living is brand new. We were there as visitors and looked like it was well-managed. They have other places nationwide and I liked that everything was clean and nice. The rooms were quite good, especially the deluxe one-bedroom. It had a good amount of space, considering it's a one-bedroom. It had a smaller refrigerator and smaller counter space than the regular kitchen in a regular house, but that's not that bad. The dining room was very nice and the food was good. The service was a little slow as they were short on the waitstaff, but they're working on that. They have quite a few activities listed. Once a month, somebody comes in and gives lectures to them. The staff was very nice and very friendly, too. They have this little program called ambassadors. So, whenever somebody is new or visiting, they picked a person that was very akin to what you are going through or the kind of lifestyle you have. That's your person who kind of stays and hangs around you. Since we're both in the military, our ambassador was a man that was also in the Air Force. When everybody was coming into the dining room, you could see the tables with all the names. They wanted everybody to grab their own name and set it with them. So, when a new person was walking around, she could start seeing everybody's name and whoever she sat down with, the names of the people she was sitting with were right there. I thought that was nice."

"We are at Woodhaven Village. They provide three meals a day. The food is not as good as the first time we tried them. They do the breakfast consistently okay, though. My experience with the community is fine. However, it isn't the best in the world or anything like that. We were both widows, and both of us were living here. We met here and got married two years ago. The staff members do the best they can, but they take orders from far away, so they can't do anything they're not told to do. My wife and I each moved to a separate cottage, and we were the very first ones into that cottage. She had a larger one than mine. I had two bedrooms and one bath. She has two bedrooms, two baths, a study, and a living room. Everything in it was brand new, like the washer and dryer, refrigerator, and oven."

"I toured The Lakes at Woodhaven Village. It's very well taken care of. It's gated. It has a great pool, not only just the pool. They have a hot tub and they also have laps where you can swim laps. There are all kinds of games and things. There's a coffee bar. There's all kinds of stuff. The apartment itself was very nice."

"I don't want to say anything negative, but Village on The Park Steeplechase probably isn't where I would want to stay if I was looking. Everybody there was very nice though, and it looks like they serve meals, which is good. The cottages, with my friend being 90 years old, were too far away from everything. Everything close and within the main building is assisted living. They had garbage pick-up, and it looked like everything was well-maintained. We were only there for like 45 minutes so we didn't see a whole lot. We weren't there during mealtime so we didn't get to see any of that too. I think for people who are more independent, the cottages are fine. They also have closed-in garages, which I thought were nice. Everybody was very nice and wanted to help us. My friend is 90 years old and walked with a cane so they got a wheelchair to wheel her around. They were very accommodating. I think they played bridge and bingo when we were there."

"It is outstanding! The staff excel in all that they do and have far exceeded our expectations. They truly care about the residents AND their families. My grandmother is a current resident and her life has been transformed by living at the Carriage Inn. Her health and happiness have improved tremendously and I attribute it to her moving to the Carriage Inn. The food, service, and activities are top-notch which is a complete reflection of the care and commitment each employee has to the residents!"

"We toured Emerson Pines and it was fine, but it was just too far away from where we would like for my mother to live. It's clean and organized. The staff who accommodated us were helpful and informative. The apartment was updated. It was an empty apartment. The walls were painted with fresh paint. It had all the appliances necessary to live comfortably. It's comfortable overall. The maintenance looked really good from what I saw. They have a pool and a gym. It looked like they had a lot of community activities on special days, which was good. I would rate it a four because I wish the security gates were functioning. It looked like the security gates were non-functioning; it was completely open. If you have functioning security gates with codes, it would feel safer, like not just anybody could walk in."

"It was located in the part of the town where it's easy to get to. I liked that their staff was welcoming and thorough. I loved just the bright and modern look of it, lots of open air, green spaces, and places to gather. But they didn't have the bars down the hall and the building was 8 stories high. I met some of the residents there and they were friendly. They had good activities going."

"The Village of Southampton was stunning. The views there are tremendous. You can see the whole city and can see downtown. The location is in the Rice Village at Rice University. There's a whole bunch of shops there. As long as we're able bodied, we can walk a mile or two. There's a lot of places that are within walking distance. That's the strong point of that one. The views are awesome. It's like 18 stories (or something like that), and all the apartments are just gorgeous. We've been there twice. They have exercise rooms, a swimming pool, and a lounge on the top floor. You could buy alcohol, snack foods, sandwiches, and stuff. The view is like drop dead gorgeous. There's an outside balcony that goes halfway around the building. It's stunning. The food was excellent. This is the best place in town."

"We went to The Tradition - Woodway this morning. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and seemed to know quite a bit about it. They have a swimming pool, a hair salon, a man's Cave with billiards, a golf simulator, a library, a workout room, and a craft room. We stopped at one of the informal snack areas. We saw the dining room. There was no food preparation going on at the time. It looked like a restaurant. The Tradition seems kind of sterile."
