"My mom is in The Medical Resort At Pearland. I can never get in contact with her and they never let them know that family called, I have to go up there. They had a bug problem a week ago, and they finally took care of that. I asked the nurses about the level of care she would start with and they'd meet the caseworker for her, but when I talked to the administrator she never got the message. I don't care for it at all, so I'm pretty sure she won't be there for long. The food is always cold, they had to always heat the residents' food because it came in cold. It's dry and it's disgusting, so I bring her food. I wouldn't bring my dog there, the place sucks overall. The nurses are rude. They sit there and let the phone ring all night long, they don't answer it. On the first night they transferred her, they were outside for 30 minutes, because the nurse decided she didn't want to open the door on her shift. The paramedic called me and told me they've been there for 30 minutes outside with my mom on a stretcher because they couldn't get in. The lady said she's coming but didn't come and didn't say when she's coming again so they had to call me. The physical facility is nice. It's just that the bugs, the staff, and the food, those things suck. My mom is doing therapy, but other than that, because of COVID, they're just staying in their rooms. It's horrible that her insurance is paying for a place that's not a good place at all."

"Medications are given and vital are taken regularly; for the most part the food is good; most of the time the place smells fresh; the rooms and toilets are kept clean. They have care conferences with the family every three months or when needed. Their clothes are kept washed daily. On occasion problems arise, but are handled quickly as warrented. "

"Tuscany Village was very nice and clean, but it’s a little expensive. Every day something was going on; they'd participate or not. They encourage the patients to go to the cafeteria to eat and not eat in their rooms. However, they need to change their menu for lunch and supper. They repeat the same food a lot. They need variety. "

"I'm staying in Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. It's very nice. It's very large. The room is very nice and very good. Housekeeping comes in every day and cleans the room. The staff are very courteous and very prompt when you call. They have a physical therapy gym, a dining room, and an activities room. I haven't been in all the hallways. I think there's five hallways, and I'm in the rehab hallway, and I have a room to myself. The food is good. They've got very good menus. Very prompt delivery for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have good activities, and they have games and things. I would recommend it."

"My mother is in here. I like that she will be able to stay there once she no longer has savings and has to go on Medicaid. They have activities, church services, singing, bingo, movies, some physical therapy, and trips. What stood out was the special attention that she gets there. The staff come and get her to take her to meals. Sometimes they will help her style her hair. They have staff that will bring her meals if she wants some in her room. They make a special effort to see that she has some social life."

"Yes the Colonades has some problems but overall I love the facility. The new staff are great and they are really making some changes. The only bad thing is they are understaffed but the people that are there bust their butts to help solve any problems I have with my mom. I would recommend it to other families. "

"2 and a half months ago, I was given the daunting task of finding my younger brother a skilled nursing and rehab facility in the area after he was injured in a fall at home. I was overwhelmed with trying to find the right place for him. Our family had suffered a horrible ordeal when we had to place our dad in a facility (supposedly 5 star rated) and his and our experience there was as I said, horrible! All I could think about was, what if this happens again? What if I put him in a place that doesn't care for him and were uncaring to family as they were? I had no idea how the insurance worked, I had no idea about how any of this worked. At that point, I started calling facilities that were in his insurance network and the first call I made was to Friendswood Healthcare and Rehab. And thank goodness for that!!! My first contact on the phone was Amy, the Head nurse at the facility. She helped me thru so much, even a few tearful moments and she made me feel so good! Next, I talked to Cindy and set up an appointment for a tour and to meet the staff. I never looked at another facility! I saw the sincere way I was treated, so I felt in my heart that my brother would be treated the same way, and he was! Lauren and her rehab staff worked so diligently with my brother who came in unable to sit up, stand, much less walk in any! We thought that when he first came in there was no way he could possibly go back to his apartment where he lived alone. I thought we would be looking for an assisted living facility for him, and he was only 57 years old. He also could not swallow. He had to have a feeding tube while in the hospital and he transferred to Friendswood with the tube. But after the speech therapy, he graduated to soft foods, and before he left, he was and still is eating a regular diet!! I am telling you honestly that our family had so little hope for his future, and now we all have nothing but hope for his continuing success. After a couple of months of rehab and care at Friendswood Health Care and Rehab, he is back in his apartment (with daily care for some of his needs such as cleaning, bathing, etc) but he is living on his own, something we thought would never be possible again!! When my mom and I visited him, they not only cared about him genuinely, but we got hugs as well from staff!! Cindy, Lauren, Amy, Marilyn, and all the rehab and nursing staff...thank you from the bottom of our hearts! He has a second chance at life and you all helped to make that happen and for that, he and the family will be forever grateful! And thank you for always supporting me in learning the process and helping me sleep at night knowing he was so well taken care of! Yes, I would certainly recommend Friendswood Healthcare Center!!!"

"The facility is clean, staff is so supportive and since the COVID pandemic, the staff has kept our family up to date on the facility policies and my grandmother is doing great! I am so happy with her care:) Lillie"

"My friend is in Chelsea Gardens. They have an excellent staff and the nurses are just fantastic. It's convenient and it's clean, but I have some complaints. I have never met the house doctor, although I've asked twice to see him. Otherwise, it's a very good facility and all of the people are outstanding. It's a very good facility. They have three meals a day and my friend does eat them, so I guess they're OK. He seems to be happy with the activities. They played bingo, and they showed movies. He seems very content with that."

"My sister chose Terra Bella Health and Wellness Suites for Mom because it's close to her. It's not a bad place, but it's not what I would have picked because it's too far. I want to get my mom close to where I am. I've gone there on good days and I've gone there on bad days. The room is enough for two people. She has a roommate. It has one bathroom, but they have their own closets, dresser, and stuff like that. There's a curtain between them for privacy. They have everything there. They have a beauty shop, dining, and a little church. Sometimes, it's not up-to-date as far as being clean like I want it to be. Other than that, it is a nice place. They have a place for recreation. They have walking trails."

"My dad was in Regent Care in League City for rehab. It was very nice and they were very caring. They're very one-on-one with you, like if you have a problem you can always call them and they will answer your question. They're very alert and very respectful of his care, so I really like them. He had a private room there, but he was in the COVID holding area for the first 14 days because they wanted to make sure he didn't have the COVID."

"During my visit to Park Manor of South Belt I noticed how clean it is and how friendly everybody is. The staff is very polite, and very knowledgeable about what I need to do, and what I need to have. I had my uncle there, and care was excellent. I went around the clock to see him; to make sure they were taking good care of him, and no matter what time I went, they were all excellent. They took very good care of him. The dining area is very clean; they set out napkins, the silverwares are all lined up for them to come and eat; it was very clean. That place is recommendable because of the services they gave my uncle. Before they did anything with him, before they decided to do anything, they have always called me and they would say, "Do you want us to do this, do you want us to do that, Is that okay if we do this?" They would always call me first to make sure it was alright with us. "

"My mother has moved into Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem. The staff is very supportive in guiding me through the process. They are very helpful. The facility is very nice. It is well-maintained and clean. She seems to like the food. I just had a few incidents with them as far as bathing and stuff, but she's been pretty much on schedule since then. They have various activities. They have bingo, social hours, and a women's group. For the holidays, they've brought in choirs to sing and musicians to play. There were just a couple of issues that had to be resolved, like it took them a long time to fix the TV."
