"My mother in law has been there for 3 months. This is my first time dealing with elderly care and Laurel Court has been wonderful. Everyone has been professional and caring. If I had to complain about something, it would be that sometimes there's a strong urine smell but it's not often. I highly recommend this place and the director Crystal was always there when I had a question or concern and immediately addressed the problem. "

"My dad was at Winchester Lodge Healthcare Center. It was right across the street from my mom's house. It was a brief rehab, post-hospital kind of stay. Everything was really positive. At that time it was pre-COVID, so my mom got to spend a lot of time with him, and do meals with him. My brother and sister got to visit quite a bit just to make sure that he was doing OK. He was recovering from a surgery. In that regard we were very happy with it. It was super convenient for everybody because it was in Alvin, and that's where they all lived. I don't live there, but it's where they all live. They were more appreciative because they could bring him out of the hospital and bring him closer to home until he got a little bit better and a little bit stronger. The physician came and rounded there regularly with a nurse practitioner, and that gave them a higher level of confidence that they will catch something early if anything was not going right. My dad seemed happy there. He liked that everybody could visit him and stay with him, but he stayed there pre-COVID, so there weren't restrictions. They liked the food, it was more like a cafeteria style kind of food, but it was good. He was eating, so he was doing good. The facility probably does not give off the best impression, but I think it was an older facility that was formerly something else. I think it has been around for 40 or 50 years. It has only been a nursing home for a while. It does not give you the best impression, but they keep it fine. It just looked dated, but it was clean. It probably was what you would expect for an older nursing home. That was maybe the only thing that was a little off-putting, because you are thinking, "Are they in this decade?" But everything else was good. They maintained it, but your initial impression would be that it is just a little dated. My dad was assigned to do speech, physical therapy, and occupational therapy at that time for all his conditions combined. It was not just the surgery, but they evaluated him overall. I think there were other therapies available while he was there, so that was good."

"For all the people who wrote bad reviews. I have dealt with ALOT of nursing homes and all of them have bad to them. It runs in cycles, I don't know why that is, but it does. You will go through a period where they all are amazing and then it goes through periods where they are very bad, and it starts all over again. They all go through a turnover where they are bad and they all go through times where the staff is all great, except for the exception of a few. Friendship Haven is very close to me and right now they are in an amazing cycle. Great staff, good food, and terrific care. You just have to keep a close eye when they all are in their downside. They are one of the better ones though. There are a few bad seeds that is only there for the paycheck but they usually don't last long. Just check on your loved ones often in ANY nursing facility and help the facility out by reporting any of the bad seeds....."

"The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is that the physical building is getting pretty old and in need of remodeling badly. They keep the place clean, and the common areas are fine, but the rooms could use updating. The Staff here is the most professional and attentive I have ever encountered. They do what they say they are going to do, and they never complain. The Management is extremely courteous and professional. We moved our Dad here from a much newer, fancier facility that was a nightmare.., and our level of stress now is greatly reduced. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"I had my mother transferred to Regent Care Center. She’s in a room by herself. It is a fairly new and nice facility, and it seems to be well staffed. It has a big nurse’s station in the middle and 5 or 6 wings out from there. It has outdoor areas, and it’s well-decorated. There are activity rooms and a lot of activities. It has 3 dining rooms. It has a big dining room that’s nice for those that can go in and eat. It has a smaller dining room where they can get assisted for eating if they need assistance. There’s a little private dining room where if their families come, they can eat or have a party here. I have had some problems. I went one time and they had moved my mother and didn’t tell me, so I couldn’t find her. They’re supposed to let you know if they moved the residents. I kept asking for her clothes and her belongings to be moved into this room. Finally, I went and got them myself, and I couldn’t find it all, so stuff went missing. It’s not wonderful. "

"It was a pretty nice place. The main reason we chose it was because it was the closest to our houses, so it's easy to visit my grandmother. She got Alzheimer's, and they recently got memory care. That option opened up for us, so we took it. There's a lot of good stuff there. All of the people who live there can interact and do things together. She is supposed to move in by the end of the month."

"My late mother spent 5 years there. It was a good, basic facility. It wasn't super fantastic because there were simply too many patients and never enough staff to provide anything but good, basic care. They need more CNAs and the nurses spend most of their time passing meds which is all that nurses seem to do nowadays. Diet was very good and the facility was clean and appealing. The key to good care for your relative there is to go check on your relative daily but never at the same time of day. Talk to the CNAs who are providing direct care to your loved one and ask them how your relative is doing. The nurses only pass meds, chart, and do procedures. Remember that you are the Patient Advocate for your loved one and being directly involved in their care makes all the difference in the world. "

"I wouldn’t take mother back to ManorCare Health Services. The place was a dump. Everything is broken, and it’s in horrible repair. You had to bang on the light to get it to come on. The dining area was horrible; the residents in assisted and the ones that could go in by themselves all ate in one area. It was horrible food, horrible service, and a horrible atmosphere. It was $1500 a month more than where she’s at now, but I did like her doctor. She was there a long time, long enough to be dropped by her insurance. I got a prescription bill for $2300 for one month, and they didn’t advise me that I needed to get her on Medicare. Never was there a care plan meeting. They moved her to another wing where there was no therapy, and while she was there, she got pneumonia again. The a/c could not be controlled; it was too cold. I went back a week later. She was still in that room freezing to death. I was freezing to death, and after a fit, they moved her. "

"My grandfather is at The Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for a couple of months now and they are taking good care of him. The staff are very helpful. I'm in a wheelchair myself and they help me get out to my car several times. I've sat down with my grandfather while he is eating and I can see that the dining room is pretty good and very spacious. The rooms are kept pretty clean. They have a guy who plays the piano and they sing along, although my grandfather does not much stuff. He is happy there. The place is also centrally located right near a hospital. They have a lot of professionals. I was just there the other day and the podiatrist came in and clipped his toenails. "

"We have a family member on the Memory Care Unit at Clear Brook Crossing, and we LOVE it here! all of the staff is very caring and attentive to all of the resident's at this facility. Any time we have a question we have many people that are willing to help and always follow up with an answer. We love the Drs at the facility and are sure to keep us up to date on our family member's health and current medical conditions. The activities are wonderful and have a nice variety for residents on and off the memory care. Everyone is always willing to help and answer questions. Our family member and family could not be happier here! "

"My mother stayed at Ignite Medical Resort Webster in December. We liked the place pretty well. They were attentive to her, and she liked the people. The only issue she had there was that even though they would ask her every morning what she wanted for every meal, she seldom actually got what she asked for, but she didn't want to bring it to anybody's attention. A lot of times, the food was cold by the time it would get to her. The building was very nice and seemed like it was recently remodeled. The rooms were all private, so that was nice. The bathrooms were accessible even to somebody in a wheelchair. They had a nice recliner chair that one of us was allowed to sleep in at night. So, you could have somebody stay with you the whole time you're there. The staff was good. Pretty much any time we would call them, they would come in pretty quickly. We were there right around Christmas, so it was a little bit hard to get hold of people that were in charge of things. I did try once to get hold of somebody that was in charge of the dietary stuff. And I got a recording and nobody ever called me back. I was trying to get hold of a caseworker and they sent me to somebody's voicemail, left a message, didn't hear back, and tried calling somebody else, and her recording said that she was off until the first of the year. The front desk didn't seem to be very good at getting hold of people that were in charge of things. But the nursing staff was good. She had PT and OT while she was there, and those people seemed to be good, too."

"Kindred Rehab is wonderful. They work miracles with Gala -- my cousin -- and the staff is so great. The quality is just the best. He does a lot of natural treatment and supplements. It is just the best in the world; I am very pleased with the services there. They are doing very well. I would recommend anyone to take their loved one that’s trying to recovery from a stroke there. They are very good in what they do, and I am very pleased with their work. Dr. Clark is very knowledgeable. "

"My father was in the hospital for 7 weeks with a series of illnesses. His insurance gave us 2 choices for rehab so we chose Park Manor. I have to say the nurses and aids were wonderful and physical therapy helped Dad get well enough to go home with assistance. The negatives: there is no way for each roommate can watch tv at the same time without the other's sound conflicting. Some of the linens need to be thrown out, raveling hems, tiny holes, etc. These aren't huge but they affect how you feel about the place. One area they fall short in is making sure patients stay mentally engaged. My dad would always ask to go right back to bed after therapy or lunch, which I wouldn't allow when I was around. He now has to break the habit of just wanting to doze all day. My advise is to have frequent contact with the nurses and aids. Give them feed back, tips etc so they can do their best job with your family member. "

"I usually dislike going to nursing homes because I feel like the people who are in the home are helpless waiting to go onto the afterlife. But that wasn't the case at this particular place. I must havedriven past this place over a dozen times but I had never expected this to be a nursing home i more expected it to be to a higher end apartment complex(couldnt be more wrong right!) I was out ofstate when my grandfather moved in there so naturally as soon as i got back i hussled right over and i was shocked as i rolled up to see a familar building. I had always loved hearing my grandfathers stories and as i entered i was suprised to see my grandfather swapping war tales with other veterans they were all interesting individuals. I love visiting him and his new found friends i would definly recommendanybody to send their loved ones there. "

"My mom is in The Medical Resort At Pearland. I can never get in contact with her and they never let them know that family called, I have to go up there. They had a bug problem a week ago, and they finally took care of that. I asked the nurses about the level of care she would start with and they'd meet the caseworker for her, but when I talked to the administrator she never got the message. I don't care for it at all, so I'm pretty sure she won't be there for long. The food is always cold, they had to always heat the residents' food because it came in cold. It's dry and it's disgusting, so I bring her food. I wouldn't bring my dog there, the place sucks overall. The nurses are rude. They sit there and let the phone ring all night long, they don't answer it. On the first night they transferred her, they were outside for 30 minutes, because the nurse decided she didn't want to open the door on her shift. The paramedic called me and told me they've been there for 30 minutes outside with my mom on a stretcher because they couldn't get in. The lady said she's coming but didn't come and didn't say when she's coming again so they had to call me. The physical facility is nice. It's just that the bugs, the staff, and the food, those things suck. My mom is doing therapy, but other than that, because of COVID, they're just staying in their rooms. It's horrible that her insurance is paying for a place that's not a good place at all."

"Let me start by saying that I am an emergency medical technician by profession. I transport patients by ambulance from nursing homes to dialysis. I have been in many nursing homes, and found Tuscany Village to be one of the nicest. First of all they have monitored entrances and exits requiring codes so that people who aren't supposed to be there can't get in, and patients with altered mental statuses can't go outside and get lost. Secondly the facility is clean and kept up with. They have groundskeepers mow and landscape weekly. I have never seen trash laying about not even an overflowing dumpster. The hallways inside are carpeted and vacuumed daily and framed pictures hang on the wall. Inside patient rooms they are free to decorate how they like. The rooms come with motorized, reclining hospital beds. Single and double rooms are available. Double rooms are seperated in the middle by a thick, sliding material for privacy. Every room has its own bathroom with standup shower, toilet, and sink complete with handrails. The patients are very well cared for. Laundry is always done, bed sheets are changed daily andmore often than that when necessary. The patients I have picked up from Tuscany Village are always clean, well maicured with clean clothes, shoes, even hair accessories. I have never heard any complaints from the residents and I have been making frequent trips for over a year. Patients awaiting transport have a bag packed by staff with an extra blanket, diapers and lunch for their trip. My experience with the staff has been positive. They're are always helpful ad diligent when given a task or asked a question. "

"At first this was a good place with nice people. Lots of activities. They took really good care of mom even though she couldn't do to much due to MS. She was meeting people (nurses) and I met people. We really thought this was going to work out. A few years into it things were not doing good at the facility. They didn't pay bills on time and had mom life ins cancelled. She was able to get a new one. Also poor care had mom in and out of hospital. I really feel sorry for older people getting taken advantage of, and knowing that some day I will probably be one of those people. Anyways, Finally, new management came in and some people went and some new ones came. Lucky for mom she made new friends(nurses) and we both love them. The facility has been going thru renovations and is looking good. I really like the new human resource person and business admin., they are great. "

"Overall, I think this facility is very nice. I visited this facility on multiple occassions when selling medical products and also went into many of the resident's rooms as well. The facility always looked and smelled clean. They offer community eating areas, activity areas and a salon. There is also an on site therapy room in which patients can recieve Physical or Occupational Therapy. I have witnessed one of the group activities: It consisted of a large group session where the residents disscussed various topics and told stories about various experiences (past vacations were the topic when I visited). I like that they encourage communication and friendships among the residents. Some residents even have pets in their room which is nice if you or your family member has a pet that is near & dear to their heart. Overall, it seems like the staff generally cares about the residents, it is clean, new & updated facility with activities and fun as well as medical care. "
