"My dad was at Winchester Lodge Healthcare Center. It was right across the street from my mom's house. It was a brief rehab, post-hospital kind of stay. Everything was really positive. At that time it was pre-COVID, so my mom got to spend a lot of time with him, and do meals with him. My brother and sister got to visit quite a bit just to make sure that he was doing OK. He was recovering from a surgery. In that regard we were very happy with it. It was super convenient for everybody because it was in Alvin, and that's where they all lived. I don't live there, but it's where they all live. They were more appreciative because they could bring him out of the hospital and bring him closer to home until he got a little bit better and a little bit stronger. The physician came and rounded there regularly with a nurse practitioner, and that gave them a higher level of confidence that they will catch something early if anything was not going right. My dad seemed happy there. He liked that everybody could visit him and stay with him, but he stayed there pre-COVID, so there weren't restrictions. They liked the food, it was more like a cafeteria style kind of food, but it was good. He was eating, so he was doing good. The facility probably does not give off the best impression, but I think it was an older facility that was formerly something else. I think it has been around for 40 or 50 years. It has only been a nursing home for a while. It does not give you the best impression, but they keep it fine. It just looked dated, but it was clean. It probably was what you would expect for an older nursing home. That was maybe the only thing that was a little off-putting, because you are thinking, "Are they in this decade?" But everything else was good. They maintained it, but your initial impression would be that it is just a little dated. My dad was assigned to do speech, physical therapy, and occupational therapy at that time for all his conditions combined. It was not just the surgery, but they evaluated him overall. I think there were other therapies available while he was there, so that was good."

"I was a resident at FHCC for only 3 months before Hurricane Harvey forced my displacement to a Nursing facility some 50 miles away -- too bad and sad, because, that was the only reason which would make me leave my new home at Friendswood Health Care Center. My disability dates back to 1995 - 23 years - with tons of experience living in nursing homes/facilities. What I'm leading up to is that with my experience on the receiving end of life in such places, I give Friendswood Health Care Center a 5-star rating simply because they earned a full rating in all areas of caregiving. They have been closed while repairing & getting ready to reopen; I'm ready to return home."

"I was given a choice of where to go, out of 20 options in the area this one was 4 Star rated by Medicare, rest were a rating of 1. Avoid these places at all cost. The Staff was excellent Norma, Stephanie.and Judah were very professional if I had a issue they listened to me and handled the problem promptly. The Nursing Staff members were highly knowledgeable, in their area of expertise I observed that each skilled professional was compassionate, and always had a moment to spent with residents where to ease their mind on pain or constant bombardment by the Media about Corona-virus. When I pushed the button for aid their Response Time was Excellent This Medical Team, I say again TEAM provides a great service to all residents, Thank YOU The Physical Team was very helpful and getting me ready for the Real World. The workouts were demanding and 50 days later you could see the Transformation. Learning to walk and be independent, Great Job I loved the communal dining area, where all residents could partake of a meal, and share moments with each other. The meals were excellent and residents would ask," What are we having for Lunch." The kitchen Staff were great and catered to each and everyone. Regency Village on Greene Road in Webster, Texas, I recommend it to any one that needs Skilled Nursing. This facility is extremely CLEAN, They leave no STONE upturned. Thank You: Annette, Tanya, Carla, Mark, Jinny, Julie, God Bless You All "

"I wouldn’t take mother back to ManorCare Health Services. The place was a dump. Everything is broken, and it’s in horrible repair. You had to bang on the light to get it to come on. The dining area was horrible; the residents in assisted and the ones that could go in by themselves all ate in one area. It was horrible food, horrible service, and a horrible atmosphere. It was $1500 a month more than where she’s at now, but I did like her doctor. She was there a long time, long enough to be dropped by her insurance. I got a prescription bill for $2300 for one month, and they didn’t advise me that I needed to get her on Medicare. Never was there a care plan meeting. They moved her to another wing where there was no therapy, and while she was there, she got pneumonia again. The a/c could not be controlled; it was too cold. I went back a week later. She was still in that room freezing to death. I was freezing to death, and after a fit, they moved her. "

"This is a very nice, convenient facility. It's kept clean, with no foul odors, and when needing assistance, the staff is very willing to help. Our parents are at this facility, and we feel it's a safe, positive environment for them to reside. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to make daily activities run smoothly. Almost every day, it seems that there is a function going on in the dining area for the residents. Bingo, ice cream socials, residents can attend mass, painting classes, etc. One parent has been at this facility for over two years, and we have been very happy with the staff and facility. I do recommend this location to others. (This facility is also close to hospitals and many doctors offices...very convenient.)"

"We have found a place for my mom, and it's called Magnolia Crossing and Rehabilitation Center. She seems to be settled in. She's been there for a couple of weeks now and seems to be happy. She has a roommate; she likes it. The food is pretty good. We're very pleased. It's close to our house, so we can get there easily. All of my children are close, too, so they like to go visit as well. There were two things that we saw happening when we went to visit Magnolia Crossing. One, there were many staff members available. It is a smaller facility, and instead of six wings, there are four, so they're able to be a little bit more present. The second is that they have showers in the bathroom. They don't have to go down to a group shower down the hall. We don't have any complaints at this point. The decor is appealing, and it's clean. It was Mother's 93rd birthday a couple of days after we moved her in, and the activity folks brought balloons to the room. They're cheerful and attentive. We have had an interaction with everyone so far. The food has been pretty good, according to Mother. Mother is getting some PT. We didn't realize she was able to get some, so we're pleased about that. She doesn't get engaged in bingo and things like that, but they do have activities going on. Regarding value for money, they have accepted her on her monetary ability, so that was a huge thing, too."

"This is my second stay at Ignite Medical Resort Webster. The facility is beautiful. The rooms are surprisingly spacious. Each resident has their own room. There are outstanding amenities including a salon, luxe cafe and restaurant. The food is excellent. i've enjoyed each meal. The staff are friendly and caring. Nelly was one of my caregivers. She was friendly and professional and did everything possible to make my stay here as comfortable as possible. My only complaints are the internet doesn't stay connected and the tv channel listing is wrong. I am not a nursing home resident but there is no other option. I highly recommend Ignite and staff."

"Park Manor of South Belt was lovely. The people were just very nice. Everything was pleasant and the rooms were very clean. They had all kinds of activities for the residents, like exercise programs, games, and things like that. The place was also very well laid out. "My mom is in The Medical Resort At Pearland. I can never get in contact with her and they never let them know that family called, I have to go up there. They had a bug problem a week ago, and they finally took care of that. I asked the nurses about the level of care she would start with and they'd meet the caseworker for her, but when I talked to the administrator she never got the message. I don't care for it at all, so I'm pretty sure she won't be there for long. The food is always cold, they had to always heat the residents' food because it came in cold. It's dry and it's disgusting, so I bring her food. I wouldn't bring my dog there, the place sucks overall. The nurses are rude. They sit there and let the phone ring all night long, they don't answer it. On the first night they transferred her, they were outside for 30 minutes, because the nurse decided she didn't want to open the door on her shift. The paramedic called me and told me they've been there for 30 minutes outside with my mom on a stretcher because they couldn't get in. The lady said she's coming but didn't come and didn't say when she's coming again so they had to call me. The physical facility is nice. It's just that the bugs, the staff, and the food, those things suck. My mom is doing therapy, but other than that, because of COVID, they're just staying in their rooms. It's horrible that her insurance is paying for a place that's not a good place at all."

"At first this was a good place with nice people. Lots of activities. They took really good care of mom even though she couldn't do to much due to MS. She was meeting people (nurses) and I met people. We really thought this was going to work out. A few years into it things were not doing good at the facility. They didn't pay bills on time and had mom life ins cancelled. She was able to get a new one. Also poor care had mom in and out of hospital. I really feel sorry for older people getting taken advantage of, and knowing that some day I will probably be one of those people. Anyways, Finally, new management came in and some people went and some new ones came. Lucky for mom she made new friends(nurses) and we both love them. The facility has been going thru renovations and is looking good. I really like the new human resource person and business admin., they are great. "
