Assisted Living Communities in Keller, TX

"My mom is at The Harvest of Roanoke. It's a very nice facility. She went in as assisted living with the evaluation to possibly put her in memory care. The food looked good. My mom is eating much better than where she was then. The rooms are very nice. It's a nice and very homey community. In the common area, they have games. It's very updated and beautifully decorated. The staff has been awesome. They've been wonderful. They embrace us when we come in, and keep us abreast of anything they think we should know. Their director, Monique, has been fabulous. And I have nothing negative at all to say to any of them. I noticed the residents did arts and crafts. There's an area where they can go in and play. They can get their hair done, and they have a place where they can go and watch movies. There's a lot of things that they do there. It's a little expensive, but for what we got, the level of care and everything, I think it's worth the money."

"My boyfriend stayed at HarborChase of Southlake. They didn't take very good care of him and he ended up in the hospital. They let him get mouth sores all over his mouth and back in his throat and didn't do anything about it. Finally, we got the doctor to prescribe some lidocaine rinse and they didn't give it to him. Then he got a massive urinary tract infection and had to go to the hospital. I don't like anything about it. It's extremely expensive. They charged him a fee to transfer him to the hospital. The aides didn't notify the doctor that he was sick, and he couldn't eat because he had mouth sores for about a week. The food was horrible. We had a Christmas dinner there and it was supposed to be rib roast, and it was so overcooked. I don't think they take very good care of their residents. It's beautiful. He had a really nice apartment. He was only there a short time, and the bill was $20,000, and they charged him extra for everything."

"We loved Horizon Bay. My husband is very interested in a garage; that's why he liked the cottages here at Horizon Bay. It is very home-like, clean, and well cared for. It is just like a small version of home. It had a garage and a kitchen. Everything is very spacious. Spacious would be a good word for the cottages. It has two bedrooms places that are spacious. "

"An elderly couple in our church put down a deposit for Ashwood Court. The place was awesome. We ate an awesome lunch there at a table with some residents who were really nice. The staff was nice. The place was clean and smelled good. We’re impressed with it. "

"My mother has been here for almost four weeks now. It’s small, secure, and has a homey feel. She likes to clean so they let her help with wiping the tables. They have a little courtyard area where they take them out on nice days for walks. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and I believe they get a snack during the day, too. They have transportation to get to the doctor. The staff is helpful and seems to be attentive and caring. "

"I liked Sterling House. I found the people extremely nice and very informative. The place was clean and friendly. The staff was very professional and happy to help. I thought the food was great and very tasty. The people are just very helpful. "

"I went on a tour at Brookdale Eden Estates, which was wonderful. That was a beautiful, beautiful place. I talked to a lot of other people, the places are just gorgeous, the assisted living. Just driving in, it was just so lush and pretty and very well-maintained. We went into the foyer, into the entrance, everybody was very welcoming even the patron and even the people that lived there. They would say, "Hello, how are you?" It was very friendly and they showed us a couple of places. It was at first just my husband and me, and we took my dad later and they showed us an upstairs room. It was very reasonable. I was like, Wow, and it was perfect. It had a little kitchen area, a little living area, a bath, and a walk-in shower. The whole place was very clean, it didn't smell or anything like that. The dining room was gorgeous. Her name was Peggy, she showed us a menu. You just had your choice of whatever, and if that's not what you wanted, they would make something for you. If you want breakfast for supper or if you just wanted a burger, they said they would make it for you. But everything was just very well maintained, everybody was so nice and welcoming, and the place that we looked at would have been perfect for him. The only thing was that he's not able to walk downstairs, so that made it a safety issue. So they were going to have to find a place downstairs because it was too obvious, like in case of evacuation or whatever. But other than that, thumbs up for Brookdale. The staff was wearing masks, the patrons or patients there, some were wearing masks and some not. But you could tell that they were aware of the COVID. They were always cleaning. I'd see cleaning people wandering, it didn't smell, and to me, that tells me that they kept it clean. "

"When I walked into Atria Grapevine, the first thing that I saw were some people were sitting out front (a group of women and a couple of men, and they were just enjoying trying to get their sunshine and their vitamin D, and that was lovely. They were sitting out there in this wonderful weather we're having right now in Texas. I thought, "Well, these people are happy. They wouldn't be here if they weren't." The lady who met me at the door, she was just so kind and so sweet. The rooms are very spacious, and I like the idea in the shower that they can just walk right in. It's very spacious and clean. It would certainly fit my friend's needs. The rooms were very clean. The director explained everything. It's not that far from my house. I wished it was a little closer. I went over in the memory care department, and they did have activities. When I went by the other side, the ladies were painting, and they were doing some projects, and I think that's wonderful. They had some of the people's work displayed, and that's nice. That feels good. They got nice, cute artwork over there. There are attendants around everywhere. In the activity room, I saw three attendants, and there were two ladies. They were working with them and that's comforting."

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"Teresa’s House has an entire team that has taken over my dad’s care. We have been amazed with the quality of care that my dad has received. Nurse Nicole, has been very involved in his treatment plan. My dad is starting to stand and do daily activities. They are also so kind towards my family and my mom."

"My mother-in-law moved into Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound. She is in assisted living, but when we checked out assisted living places we also made sure to look at memory care, because she'll eventually go to memory care. What I really like about Avanti's assisted living is that my mother-in-law was able to get a room with a little private patio. She loved to sit outside, so that was a game-changer there, and the people are wonderful. A staff member, I don't know what her title is, checks on us, and she's always available, and so is the nurse who's on call there. The facility is always clean. It always smells good. They have flowers out and it's very pleasant."

"The Sterling House of Lewisville was recommended by a friend in the region as a possible option for our aunt. It looked like a very nicely appointed community with a home-style atmosphere. We could see that the residents there were content and well cared for when we arrived. The pretty backyard features many places for seniors to enjoy around the grounds safely. The property also had plenty of park-like space with tranquil, large trees and nicely manicured lawns. As we walked through the building, we could see that the interior design was nicely ordered and easy to navigate. Each room had nice views with a calming, yet not boring décor featuring lots of fresh air and light. The main dining room had comfortable furnishings in a spacious decor. The residents are offered healthy, home-style cooked meals in a casual restaurant setting. The menus included many interesting dishes, as well as the usual American fare. Snacks are offered regularly throughout the day and whenever desired. The food looked and smelled delicious, as well as healthily prepared. For exercise, residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards.The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment is available throughout the day with assistance as necessary. The calendar of events included many activities include like different ways to exercise with nature walks and other outdoor excursions. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. Each unit has nice views of the surrounding area. The residents all looked very well taken care of and seemed content. It was clear that the seniors were really enjoying this living environment with attentive and caring staff. "

"Bristol Park Eagle Mountain has been great. My husband has gotten better, which is unusual for somebody that has his problems. The staff there is friendly and caring. They don't have an exercise area there, but they have a PT lady, a physical therapist, and an occupational therapist that works with them. They might have something in their rooms, but I've never gone in there. They have a lot of people come in and do things and work with him. They're very diligent about changing him during the night too. He's staying in their memory care facility."

"My mom moved to The Mustang Creek Estates of Flower Mound. I loved everything about it. I loved the way they had it set up for the tenant. I loved that the staff have been very helpful and inviting. I love the programs that they have set for the tenants. They've answered every question that we've needed answered, and they've helped us with every step that we've needed help with. So, I highly recommend them. When I went in yesterday, they had live music entertainment for the residents."
