"Parc Place is a good place. They have been there for 10 years. My parent's room is excellent. They have people that come in and clean it every two weeks. "

"Horizon Bay was my dad's favorite place and I liked it too. It looked like a nice and friendly place. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice, but they were smaller than the ones in the other facility. I didn't eat there. But my father, sister and brother-in-law went for thanksgiving dinner there and they said the food was very good. I saw their dining room and it was nice. It had a happy kind of feeling. They had activities like games, movies and outings. They were less expensive and my dad really liked that they had a dog run because my dad had a little dog and that was a nice thing for him. "

"I went to Parkwood Retirement Community. There was a little disadvantage there because they were still operating under strict COVID guidelines, so I didn't get to see people, or anything happening, and she said they were starting back mid-March to the use of the dining room, and other stuff. The largest two-bedrooms they have are very, very small. It would not work for us. I loved the staff member. She was wonderful, she was really, really very nice, and I liked the other women that were there. It's just difficult when you don't see anything happening. They have meals, they have exercises, a fitness center, they have a book club, entertainment, socials, and games. It's old, and it's thirty five years old. There's a difference in the feel."

"I will move into Pinewood Hills. I chose them because the price was one thing, and when I went to visit, I fell in love with it the minute I walked through the door. The staff was awesome, the food was wonderful, and I got an apartment that I will enjoy. Everybody was absolutely wonderful. The lady who took my application and showed me the apartments was fantastic. The manager was as sweet as can be and would pop in every once in a while, just to be friendly. The receptionist at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The activities director was a wonderful person and kept the people very busy. It makes you feel like it's home and that everybody matters. I have a hard time thinking. I looked at the model first, but they weren't completely ready. She let me go ahead and look at it anyway, and that's the one I chose. It is large enough for me to bring all the belongings I want. I have a sleeper couch, and there's room for that, so my daughter can visit me. It's not an oversized apartment, but big enough for everything I need. Since I'm a musician, I can have all my music in there. They have a full dining room with table service. They have a daily menu, but they also offer other choices and options besides that. So, you've got about five or six different things to choose from. The main course they had was fabulous."

"The Wellington at North Richland Hills was very clean. They're updating the wallpaper and the floors. They're just remodeling it all over, so part of it is done and part of it isn't. The part that's done is lovely. They had a very, very tiny kitchenette. I wished it was just a little bigger. Their common spaces were nice. They had nice little balconies. It's in a very nice area with a nice sidewalk to walk up to a park that's relatively close."

"My mom is a resident of Lewisville Estates. She has been there for two months. We are extremely happy with this place. We live in Lewisville so this one is close to us. What I like best about this facility is that it is small and intimate. They only have 50 people. We are happy with the staff. The food they serve is first class. The price is just right for us. Everything is just great with Lewisville Estates. "

"I'm a resident here at The Remington at Valley Ranch. I just like everything about it. I like my room. I like the cafeteria. I like the people that run the place. The employees are all very friendly. I have a lot of friends here. They do a good job. Their meals are good, but I have a health issue with my stomach. I can't eat anything spicy, but they have a backup menu where you can order something other than just their regular cafeteria food, so it's sufficient. I have a housekeeper who comes every two weeks. Maintenance answers my calls when I need help. I have a really nice two-bedroom apartment. I'm happy with it. They have bingo, card games, puzzles, entertainment, movie night, and they have shopping trips, which I'm not able to go on, but they have a lot of people sign up for them. They have a lot of activities. They have a bus that takes you to your doctor's appointments if you need help. It's worth the money. They have a lot of things that are included in your rent. You have some meals, electricity is paid, the water is paid, and no tips. They do not allow you to give tips to any of their workers. It's excellent."

"We liked that it was a smaller community so it had more personal contact. The facility was bright and open. I had the opportunity to talk to the residents as we walked around and they knew the people that worked there. They all felt comfortable together. "

"I moved into Lake Forest Village. I chose them because of the attitude of all their employees here. They made you feel very comfortable. My apartment is one of the smallest ones, but it's comfortable. The food is excellent. The staff, including everyone I've interacted with, has been very helpful and polite. The facility looks like it's very well-maintained. It seems like they take pride in this place. I haven't gotten into the activities yet, but they have quite a few available to me. As for the value, it's in line with everybody else. It's not overpriced, but it's not underpriced."

"The people treated us real nice at Lakeview at Josey Ranch. They showed us the place and we ate supper with them, which was really good. They had a salad bar, it's pretty nice. They let us order off of a menu. But the facility is about a 100 yards from a railroad track, crossing a major road. So when they would blow the whistle you could hear it everywhere in the building. I didn't want to live next to a railroad track. "

"We liked Atria Carrollton. The people looked happy with one another as if they were glad to be there. "

"Everything in Asher Point Independent Living of Arlington was great. My main concern was just the cost. It was kind of unaffordable. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. The apartment was quite small for the price they're asking."

"My parents had been with Briarview since they opened. They started out in assisted living and then moved to memory care. Dementia is a difficult thing to deal with. Sometimes the person with dementia behaves in ways that they wouldn’t if they were healthy, and the staff needs to deal with a variety of behaviors. It was hard for our family when both our elderly parents came down with dementia. The Briarview staff was with us every step of the way. I think what sets Briarview apart is their staff. I think they do a good job of screening the people they hire. These people are some of the unsung heroes of our society….they do a lot of difficult things without complaint, and with compassion. We are thankful that our parents were at Briarview during the last years of their lives."

"My friend is a resident. They're in the upper range of prices, but have many good amenities, and it's a nice town. It would be my first choice if I could afford it, but I can't. I've been in that facility many times. I find them very expensive, but they do provide good care for what you pay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I thought I couldn't find my friend, and they helped me. They looked up the apartment number. They keep the yard, they come in and they do the housekeeping."
