"I visited Parc Place in Bedford. It was very nice, but it didn't suit my needs. It didn't have meals, and I didn't care that much for the location. The apartments that they showed me were very nice. It's a very well-kept facility, but they had no balconies, and some of the rooms were inside rooms without even a window. It just didn't fit my needs. It has a very nice staff, though, and the person who gave us the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. The building was very well done."

"Brookdale Eden Estates was great. The staff was super helpful and supportive. The dining area looked pretty nice. They had a beehive of activities that you can tell that people were partaking in it. The place was really nicely decorated and laid out, clean and the entryway was pretty nice and upscale. There were some nice living areas and some very dedicated PT areas which is a nice thing to see. The staff who helped me was amazing."

"Atria Grapevine was very nice and clean. I think they're excellent. However, it's a lot more expensive. Nevertheless, the rooms there seemed nice. Unlike the other facility, they did seem to have more help and more activities. They even have crafts room for their residents. My mom and I went for a lunch and then a tour and the food was really good. The chef came out and introduced himself, which was nice. "

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"I toured Pinewood Hills. I liked the three meals a day, but parking is going to be the worst. Kathleen answered all my questions about laundry. They have bingo, there's cards, and a workout room. They have a library and a movie room. They gave me a menu of what is available, and if you don't want something, you can always get something else, which is good. They showed me a large efficiency room they're keeping for me until Monday. It's fully furnished, but they don't have a stove or an oven, you get a refrigerator and a counter."

"I went to Morada Pantego. I was impressed with it. They were very nice people. In fact, it was like we knew each other. We did a quick little tour. They have the criteria that I want. It was nice enough for me to say, 'We'll probably come by, see it, grab a lunch, or whatever you want to do.' The apartments were pretty much parallel to the other place. They were a nice size, and I think they would fit my mother's needs and make her comfortable. They had common areas, and there were people sitting around, relaxing, and things like that. It was good. They had a little store where you could buy little articles, like if they wanted to get some toothpaste or something like that. It was an updated facility. If it's not a new facility, it sure was updated and looked new. It looked very good."

"I came today for a tour and they had a drive thru event where I received lasagna, salad, bread stick and tiramisu. The tiramisu was amazing , like heaven, The Chef Monte did an amazing job. Jordan toured me and I loved the apartment he showed. It had lots of storage and great windows for my mom - she likes lots of light. I will bring my mother back asap to pick out her apartment before the holidays!"

"First of all, I love this place, and the people are great. I've lost a lot of weight before coming here. I can't believe how every mile is wonderful. I feel so blessed to have found this. You go to your room at night and feel so blessed to be with such wonderful people. We played games and we became friends quickly with people easily. You won't be sorry to be here with such wonderful people."

"The Remington at Valley Ranch is a five because of the way they deal with us. They're very personal. They address our needs when we let them know what we need. We've been here five years, and I have never been disappointed. If I go to them with special needs, they will come back and take care of it as soon as they can. The food is very varied. It's not always the same thing. It's not always the same salad. It's not always the same entree. It's not always the same vegetables. It's something that's very important for older people like I am. I don't want to have to look at the same kind of meals every day. The upkeep is excellent. They have maids here that keep this place clean. They will come in, and if they see needs that are beyond what they do every time, they come back and they make it right. It's very, very clean. The halls are clean. The bathrooms are always very clean. We get a calendar once a month, probably with 30 activities that you can do. You will be busy if you are involved in all the activities from singing to doing crafts to playing cards. You name it, you can do it here and if you choose not to do it, that's your choice. We looked around and we decided the best value for our money is right here and I am not going anywhere. We have good parking facilities. I cannot find a place as good as this for the money that I spend. This is a good location for shopping. This is a good location for being close to my family because my family is from this part of Dallas."

"We went to see Morada Lake Arlington's assisted living for my mother and the experience was very nice. Everything looked clean and the people there looked happy sitting around doing their puzzles. The menus that they gave us looked really nice too. I think the person who normally would have done the tours wasn't there. For some reason, somehow they got the time confused or something. The person who did it was very nice and knew a lot about the facility. She was very knowledgeable, very nice, and we really enjoyed meeting her and going through the facility. The apartments looked nice and spacious. Everything looked like it was being nicely taken care of. We didn't see any problems."

"I visited The Westmore, and it was wonderful. They were very nice, and I liked the professionalism. I didn't notice anything I didn't like there. The lady was very helpful and spent a lot of the time with us. The staff was very friendly. The facility is very beautiful, clean, and has a nice environment."

"Arlington Plaza is nice and cozy. I have a cousin that lives there already, so we were looking at an apartment across from them. The staff was very nice. They have a salon. They have a back porch. They have a parking garage. It's very crowded. The surroundings are very crowded. There's limited parking if you're not parking in the parking garage. In terms of location there is a grocery store, a strip mall, and lots of restaurants."

"Lake Forest Village is a good community. The tour was good, but everything is so expensive. The staff was very good. She knew her job, knew how to tour, and answered all the questions. It was much cleaner than where I'm at. If something went wrong, their maintenance staff paid attention, and they got it done that day. My question to them is, if a light bulb goes out, and I call down to the front office and say, "Hey, I'm in my room, whatever, can I just come down and pick up a lightbulb?" They said, "Sure, I will bring it up to you," which is nice. Their location had more sports and more things you could do. They had a better transportation organization. They said, "We can point out the bus system to you. We can point out if they had the van running on a certain day. We can tell you where the van's going. We can show you where this is." They had a senior discount for some gyms around there. It was kept up better than the place I'm at. They seemed very well organized."

"Legacy Oaks of Azle was way out of our price range and too far from my sister's doctors. It's very concrete. It's in city limits, so it's almost like a concrete jungle and very, very expensive. They were very straightforward. The director was amazing. The place is gorgeous and new. The only drawback was the cost. It's brand new. It's just not what we were looking for because it was in town, so it was all concrete. There were no trees. It's close to everything, but it's in the city."
