"Brookdale Eden Estates was very nice. The place was lovely, and the lady who toured us was very nice and very thorough. I like it, but I'm not at the point yet, and I'm just starting my search. They seem to have a lot of things going on. The people who lived there were busy with different activities. It's like a real community, and you get to know people, and that was good. I like the rooms. They were a good size, and I visited two that were empty, and they were all freshly painted, very nice, and roomy. So, it was good, but it was just a big transition for me. It's an old building. The staff I met was very forthcoming and very friendly. She took time to talk to me and meet me. I enjoyed the tour. The facility was very well kept. The dining room was beautifully set, and it was clean."

"Mother is not fond of the layout at Mustang Creek Estates because you only have one bedroom, and then you share everything else. It's not like you have your own little apartment thing, but other than that, it is a really nice place. It is very clean, and there is a walking sidewalk around all the buildings. It has separate little buildings, and you only have a few residents in each building, so it's more like a homier family kind of thing. The staff was absolutely magnificent there, and they were really wonderful. They have a bunch of things they do. They take the residents places, for appointments, to the stores, and everything else. "

"My mother has been here for almost four weeks now. It’s small, secure, and has a homey feel. She likes to clean so they let her help with wiping the tables. They have a little courtyard area where they take them out on nice days for walks. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and I believe they get a snack during the day, too. They have transportation to get to the doctor. The staff is helpful and seems to be attentive and caring. "

"I'm in Whitley Place. They have been very good to me from the minute I came in. The staff's work attitude is very good. I just think they need more employees. They serve you like home-cooked meals and that makes you feel more comfortable. Housekeeping and maintenance are fine, but they don't really come in my room. They clean it, but other than that, they don't do anything in it. There are lots of different things every day. They have games and informational programs. They keep you occupied almost all day. You're not just sitting in your room looking at the wall. The staff here tries very hard to keep you safe and healthy and fed well. They're like our mothers. They're very, very kind to me here."

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"Atria Grapevine was very active. There are a lot of activities and a lot of going on for the residents. The staff who gave the tour was friendly and well-informed. He was good. However, he said he was going to email me something, and he never did. The cleanliness and structure of the building was great. It's a very large facility. It's multiple stories, so it's more like a big hotel with a lot of halls. The atmosphere was good. However, I feel like it's a great place for people mostly independent people. My mother has quite a bit of dementia, so it's not a good fit for her it was a really big space, and I'm sure she would get lost in it. They have a lot of activities like going on trips and just stuff that would not fit her. I think it's a great place for somebody who wants their meals prepared and wants social interaction with people their age. But for people that may have dementia or something, I don't think it's that great of a place for that."

"The tour at Waterford on Cooper was good. The man who took us on the tour answered all of our questions, where to take us, and what we needed. So it was a good visit. The facility was very nice and the apartments were ideal. It's the perfect location, it's very close to the shopping areas. So if people wanted to get out, it's very, very convenient. Their amenities were more than adequate. It's in a top neighborhood, so it's very nice with very nice surroundings. It's well laid out. We only had an interaction with the maintenance man, he was the one who took us on a tour, and it was very good. He knew what he was talking about, he has been there for many years, so he was very knowledgeable of the place and the amenities and everything."

"My boyfriend stayed at HarborChase of Southlake. They didn't take very good care of him and he ended up in the hospital. They let him get mouth sores all over his mouth and back in his throat and didn't do anything about it. Finally, we got the doctor to prescribe some lidocaine rinse and they didn't give it to him. Then he got a massive urinary tract infection and had to go to the hospital. I don't like anything about it. It's extremely expensive. They charged him a fee to transfer him to the hospital. The aides didn't notify the doctor that he was sick, and he couldn't eat because he had mouth sores for about a week. The food was horrible. We had a Christmas dinner there and it was supposed to be rib roast, and it was so overcooked. I don't think they take very good care of their residents. It's beautiful. He had a really nice apartment. He was only there a short time, and the bill was $20,000, and they charged him extra for everything."

"We toured Brookdale Pecan Park. It was real nice. They took time with us and asked questions about mom's situation. They seemed to be helpful with giving us knowledge to try to pick a right place for her. They had a sample menu, so we looked at that. It seemed to be good. The room seemed to be real nice. It was a smaller environment and had secured doorways. It all seemed to be nice."

"We went with Carver Heights Estates for my mother. It was just 1.2 miles from me. Mother really wants a small dog. In Carver Heights, it's just a deposit of $350. It's very clean and very pretty. It's all one level. It's kind of built in a square, so in the center is like a courtyard area. That's a much larger outdoor area for them. It's got a lot of pretty little patio seating things, and it's got a raised flower bed that the people can plant. It just has a much better outdoor feel, and the indoors are beautiful. The room was more spacious than the other place we went to. It had two closets. It's a nice facility. We were really impressed. The staff is amazing, they're so sweet, really good, and very informative. You can call anytime, and they'll answer your questions. A couple of weeks after she got in, they had what they call family time. They had hot dogs and hamburgers and a bounce house and a DJ, and all kinds of entertainment. A lot of people came, and it was a lot of fun. They have activities every day. They have activities going on, so they do really well in the activities department."

"I toured Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living, and I really liked it. It is one of my top choices for my parents. It's an older facility, but it's clean and well-kept. The people who lived there seemed happy. The people I met seemed very good and helpful. I wasn't able to try the food, but it looked like everyday food. Right now where my parents are at, they have a lot of high dollar seafood and shrimp and pretty fancy looking meals. The food here looks more like down to earth food that people would be eating in normal life. I thought it was very clean and seemed very, very well maintained for as old of a building as it is. They have a nice list of amenities and a nice room for doing crafts, bingo, and all that kind of stuff."

"I'm at Bristol Park Eagle Mountain. I've been here for a year and a half now. They have memory care and I'm currently in assisted living. I don't need to be here, but my wife is in memory care. My family wants me here because the staff needs me to help my wife now and then. They keep it very clean. They do my laundry every week. The food is really good. The staff is friendly, and they have activities to keep us engaged. My wife has a studio, and then I have a two-room. It has a bedroom, a living area, and a kitchen area. I also have a patio. They have different floor plans. We usually have some type of exercise in the morning. Today, we're going out for lunch at a local restaurant. There are things in the afternoon, too. So, there's usually stuff going on. They have a garden area, a salon, and a small library. My main complaint is that it is too expensive. "

"I'm here. I haven't found anything I don't like at this point. It is a superb facility, it's lovely, it's spacious, it's clean. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The food is great. I'm very, very happy with it. The food tastes like home cooking. It's delicious, it's well seasoned. They have a beauty barber salon, a fitness center, they have bingo several times a week."
