"My mom absolutely LOVES her new home at Parkwood. The staff is wonderful, always ready to help with anything you need. It's a very friendly environment, just like one big family. Food is good and there is plenty of it and there are lots of activities to choose from. I love Parkwood too, because my Mom is safe, secure and enjoying life. "

"I visited the Conservatory at Keller Town and from what I saw; it's a very nice facility. The people there were fine. Their food and service were good. It would be a very nice facility to live in. "

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"I visited Solstice Senior Living at Grapevine, it was very nice. It was convenient and it's very well laid out, I liked it. My impression of the staff was good and the bedrooms were spacious. The staff showed me a game room, and a small theater, and the surrounding community has a lot of things to offer. They also have a garden."

"Atria Grapevine was very nice and clean. I think they're excellent. However, it's a lot more expensive. Nevertheless, the rooms there seemed nice. Unlike the other facility, they did seem to have more help and more activities. They even have crafts room for their residents. My mom and I went for a lunch and then a tour and the food was really good. The chef came out and introduced himself, which was nice. "

"My wife and I visited the Asher Point Independent Living of Arlington and I thought the grounds and the upkeep on the outside were outstanding. It's very clean, the grass was very neatly cut and edged, and all the bushes were trimmed up nicely. The landscape was just pleasant to look at. The first room we went in had a big stain on the carpet and I thought that was not conducive for what we were going to be paying. We went to another room that was basically the same size as the one with the stain and that was nicer. However, if they're going to show one room with a big stain on the carpet, I think one would have to worry about that a little bit. The lady that assisted us there was very nice and very outstanding. We did not sample any food but the dining area was very nice. It was very pretty, very well laid out, neat, and clean."

"Arlington Plaza was very friendly. I love it. It's a nice and very quiet area. You could tell they are a close community. Everybody knew everybody. The room sizes were nice. The place was very clean. The dining area was very nice."

"I visited The Westmore, and it was wonderful. They were very nice, and I liked the professionalism. I didn't notice anything I didn't like there. The lady was very helpful and spent a lot of the time with us. The staff was very friendly. The facility is very beautiful, clean, and has a nice environment."

"We have been staying at The Remington at Valley Ranch going on five years. What we like most about the community is the fact that we are treated very special. They're very kind and considerate and meet our needs. The staff is very professional and very caring. The facilities are very nice. Everything is clean and new. The amenities are very good, and they have enough activities to keep everybody happy. They serve us two meals a day, and the food is good. They have bingo, painting, cards, and most anything that anybody wants to do."

"I just moved into The Spring at Silverton yesterday. I like the one-bedroom with the patio, double windows, and patio door with the blinds. I like the appliances like the ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom. They have a bar to get in and out of the tub easily without falling. The washer and dryer is already here. I have a refrigerator and a microwave. I also like that there are two ways to get in. There are a number of things that I love about it. We have activities. We have happy hour in the dining room. Sometimes you can get croissants with coffee for breakfast. There's a nice carpet in the hall for people with bad knees. They will help you in all ways they can, and they check on you. They have activities on your phone to let you know what time activities are starting, so you won't have to miss them. They have a great swimming pool where you can barbecue there. It's private and it's nice. It's pet-friendly, too. The building is very clean. They have exercise activities. They have singers that come in and sing and play music. They have Christian music. There's a pastor that comes by if you want to come down and listen to The Word. Overall, it is on the top. I love it. The neighborhood is nice; they introduced themselves. When the elevator got jammed, they had that fixed that same day."

"The only thing that I didn't like about Lewisville Estates was they did not have a kitchen. There are times when I get the urge to cook or bake or something like that, and they had a sink, counters, but they didn't have stoves and things like that. It's a nice place, but I didn't get the same warm feeling when I walked in there. They didn't have a pool on the property, so they would bus people to a community pool, and I wasn't too thrilled with that either. They do a lot of activities too. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and they answered all my questions. They were great and they called me as a follow up afterwards. I walk with a walker, and this young man who took me around would have me to sit down and rest for a few minutes. He was very patient and waited for me to rest my legs a bit. The public rooms were well furnished also. They had nice furniture and were well designed. The furniture looked almost brand new, and it was still a good experience."

"My husband and I moved into Heritage Place Independent Living. In the dining room, the food is always really good and we have a lot of options. There are a lot of activities and things to do together. And then there's a lot of time that you spend just in your room. You can do either/or, whatever you prefer. It's in town, so it's close to things, and they offer transportation to appointments. We have a 1-bedroom apartment that has cable and everything we need. The staff is all nice and awesome. The kitchen staff, the receptionist, the management, they're all good people. I have no complaints at all. They do things like chair volleyball where you sit in a chair and play volleyball. They have Wii Bowling. They have singers that come out and sing. They have the time when you can listen to gospel music, which a lot of people around here like. And they take you to the store once a week. Every Friday, they go out to a different restaurant and you're able to go if you want to. It's just really a good system, in my opinion."

"Lakeview at Josey Ranch was a beautiful facility. They have an excellent food, a pool, and a lot of activities. They just don't have assisted living and memory care, and I didn't want to go into a facility where if I needed skilled living, I would have to completely move to another facility that I'm not familiar with. I love the fireplaces that they have in the hallway though, and the nice overstuffed chairs that you could sit on and maybe read. They give residents a GPS or something when they want to go for a walk around the paths that are outside. That way if something were to happen, they would know right where they are; I thought that was good. The staff was wonderful and very informative while taking you around to several different types of apartments, and they're the only ones I know that had a three-bedroom apartment in addition to one and two-bedrooms. They had several people from the staff who came and talked about what services they offer, and they all have beauty shops and barber shops and things like that. The staff really did a good job."

"Emerson at Rosemeade Park was awesome. It used to be the Corinthians, and we had looked at it before for my father-in-law, and so I really liked it. People had dogs, and my cousin likes dogs, and the room we're looking at opened out to a courtyard. They had buses that would take my cousin to Walmart. Once a week, they'd go out to dinner. They provided the three meals, and it was close to where I live. It was seven to ten minutes max to get there on a busy day. The facility was great. We saw a lady that was 103. The people looked happy. They took my cousin out to meet some people that were out smoking to get acquainted and they were by far not your older, older people that were in wheelchairs or anything like that. We also saw a group later on as we were getting ready to leave, one of them could have been my grandmother or mother, and she was praying and four others were singing hymns. We really liked the atmosphere there. They were having a luau and we were invited to come, but my cousin wasn't interested because it was just really hot. They had activities. They would have doctors come. It was beautiful on the inside. The person during the tour was terrific. She had a sense of humor. I liked the room we saw because it was on the bottom floor and it had a patio where you could put two chairs or something, and all of the people let their dogs run. My cousin was happy about that, but her memory just wouldn't do it. Independent living is all there is. There's no move-up place to go. They would have to leave or have extra care brought in. Their dining plan wasn't real strict. You could go in anytime you wanted. It was served like restaurant style. They'd give you a menu and you would choose from it. They had a salad bar always. They had a library, a TV room, and an area where they did chair basketball. They had an activity room. They offered a lot, like they would have something weekly or monthly. They had media rooms that had movie nights and stuff like that. I really liked it. They didn't have the beauty shop or anything like that, but that's easily fixed."
