"I visited Morada Meadow Lakes. The staff and the people there were extremely friendly and nice. We had a bad flood here in North Richland Hills, and it destroyed a lot of property. They got flooding down through their entire lower floor, so things were removed, and it was empty. They had pulled baseboards off and everything because they have to get all new carpet. It was a little distracting as far as that's concerned. I'm not saying that's the worst, it's just to understand they are having those problems, but they're fixing them and it's not their fault. There was no in-house laundry, you had to go down to a laundry room. The staff who gave us the tour was extremely friendly. We would meet people in the hallway, and she wouldn't call them by name. It seemed that everybody there was very into being helpful to the staff. She would walk through the halls, we would run into someone, and she would call him by name. She knew everybody and what they did. We did not have a meal, but because my parents are interested in food. They gave us a pot of gumbo and it was delicious. It was better than some restaurants I've been in, that was really good. They have an exercise room, woodworking shop, a huge library, and a large entertainment area. I really liked it. I felt sorry for them because they kept apologizing for the flood. They were having a little problem, and I get that, and I don't hold them against it. They were very good. The rooms were very large compared to where my parents are now, so it would give them a lot more room. The upstairs was perfect, it was fine. Downstairs, of course, with the flood, everything was out of joint. Going by what was upstairs, that was really good."

"The tour at Morada Lake Arlington was great. The people were lovely. The facility is a little older, but was clean and kept up. It was a lower cost experience and in fact, it's the one that my father-in-law ended up choosing to move to, except that we didn't go there because he suddenly took a nosedive. He chose to go there because the price was more moderate than the places that were at the top of my list. But it was quite adequate. I also liked that it was a bit smaller sized than some of the ones I toured. It felt like the hallways were more navigable and he would probably feel more part of the community in a facility of that size and that he would probably be pretty well known by the staff in a medium-sized facility like that. The rooms were nice, not as kind of upscale and new looking and modern looking as at some of the other places, but they were spacious and adequate and had everything he would need."

"Everyone at Heritage Place Independent Living was so friendly. The place was like a five-star hotel. Everything was so clean. The apartment was great. They have a library, the cafeteria, and a nice porch out front with rocking chairs on both sides and they'll sit there and talk. They have a nice little area where they have coffee and juice and muffins for the residents or anyone who comes by. They have weekly housekeeping and they do their sheets and towels. They have washers and dryers for their personal stuff and those are free. Every Friday night, they have entertainment. They have lots of things to do. Plus, they have a bus that takes you wherever you need to go. I haven't tried it, but I did see the food. They display their dishes outside the cafeteria, so people will kind of know what they want to eat. They have a salad bar, a soup bar, and an ice cream bar. It's nice. I'd like to move in there."

"I liked everything about Morada Pantego. I liked the people that I talked to and the apartment that I saw. They had an exercise room and all kinds of activities. They had arts and crafts, card playing, a game room, and a library that I thought was very wonderful. It was extensive. Another thing that I liked about this community was that they had a guest suite that if I had any family down from where I'm from, they could rent it for a night or two for a very reasonable amount of money. I thought that was good."

"We were here for a tour of the community. The rooms and grounds are beautiful, clean, well kept and comfortable. So many options for dining (cook for yourself in your apartment, or eat in the dining hall). Lots of activities and amenities to keep you active and engaged."

"StoneCreek of North Richland Hills assisted living was very good. It was our number one choice. I liked the location, I liked that it's new, that the rooms are bigger than most, and that the kitchens are better equipped. The director did a great job of showing me around. They have a salon and they offer transportation to and from doctors' appointments and shopping. They also have, not just a dining area, but also a place where they can go and get snacks and things like that like a café. They have a garden club and exercise activities that they do. They have music that comes in every week for them. They play bingo and they have all kinds of game activities and all kinds of craft activities for them to do. They have outings that they also take them on as well but that's more for independent living."

"Parc Place was very good and nice. The staff was very helpful, friendly and talked to us. The one thing that I didn’t care too much was that is was very dark; I think it used to be a hospital maybe. There’s not a lot of windows, and it just felt very dark. They have a schedule of activities, and it was on the more expensive side. "

"The tour we did at Brookdale Eden Estates was very nice. The lady that showed us through was just lovely, and she's called me a couple of times to follow up. It's just that at this point we're not ready to move my mother. Everybody was very friendly and seemed very professional. I have not tried the food, but it looked very appetizing. I liked the way they had it setup where there's table service, I think that's really nice. It's very comfortable and very clean. I thought that the room they showed us was very nice. It seemed to be a good size for assisted living. They had two assisted living spaces available, one was about 550 sq ft and the other one was 600. I don't think they have a pool, but we saw the recreation room and it was nice and adequate."

"I'm in Legacy Oaks of Azle Senior Living. I like it. My interaction with the staff is very good. My apartment is nice. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The breakfast is a continental breakfast if you choose, though we're able to get a regular breakfast as well. The continental breakfast is free. We get points. They keep me very busy, and just this morning I got a perm in the salon in-house. The one I go to the most and is offered the most is bingo. We love bingo, we play card games, and there are Bible studies and excursions. The bus goes to Walmart every Monday, and they go to a nail salon. The facility is very nice. We also have entertainment several afternoons a week at 3:00, and I usually go to that."

"I will move into Wilshire Senior Living, which meets my requirements for space and amenities. I'm living in a 1,850-square-foot cottage with an attached two-car garage. It's more like a home than anything else. There are 32 or so cottages around a huge pond, and four of them are large like mine, and I have one of those four. The staff was great. They were perfect, and I still interact with them whenever needed. They're very responsive and professional. They have three meals a day, seven days a week."

"The Conservatory at Keller Town Center is excellent. It's a very nice upscale community that's extraordinarily well-designed and decorated. They provide three meals a day and the dining room is wonderful. The staff has treated me extraordinarily well. I'm living in a 2-bedroom and 2-bathroom apartment and the rooms are very nice. It has its own kitchen and I'm on the second floor overlooking the grounds. And they offer activities like various games, music, they're constantly doing something."

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"Having my husband at Harvest of Aledo as a resident has been nice. When you put someone in a home like that, it's an adjustment for everyone and they have done well at learning who my husband is as a person, as well as his likes and dislikes, when he wants this, when he wants that. They've been very accommodating. He's in a room with a roommate, but there is a wall between them. So, it makes it feel a little more like it's your room and not sharing a room with another person. It's a newer facility. It's only two years old. Harvest of Aledo is owned by a company that has multiple senior citizen facilities throughout the United States and they've done a really good job. It's a beautiful facility and all the seniors seemed to be happy there. We just had a very large Thanksgiving dinner that they put on last Thursday, to which the families were invited. There were so many people who came that they had to have two different settings in the two big dining rooms that they had. So, that was nice. They've already taken my husband out on a field trip, too. They went and got cheeseburgers and shakes from a famous little shop out here in Weatherford. They loaded them all up and took them out there. They have a chef on board, so their meals are good."
