"Mom is at Morada Meadow Lakes and I chose this place because it's near me. The staff is really nice and very helpful. The facility is clean and new. It's freshly painted and has new carpets throughout. It's very nice. They have all kinds of activities. They play bingo, they take mom to and from doctor's visits with their bus, movie nights, and they also take them to buy groceries. They provide three meals a day, six days a week, and then brunch on Sundays. Electric water, cable, and everything's included in the price. My mom has been very happy with the meals they've served. The price is comparable with all the others that I looked at."

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assistance: we provide hands-on help with personal care tasks that residents can no longer safely or effectively perform on their own, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation (moving around). Medication Management Support: Under direction, we ensure residents take their medications accurately and on schedule, monitoring for any side effects or issues. Safety and Health Monitoring: we are the frontline observer, consistently monitoring residents' physical and mental status, reporting any significant changes (like signs of illness, falls, or emotional distress) to nursing staff or management. Promoting Independence: We encourage and allow residents to do as much for themselves as possible, promoting remaining skills and enhancing self-worth and independence.

"I liked Heritage Place Independent Living. It was nice, clean, and updated, and they have a washing machine available that you can use, and you don't have to go out. They do laundry, but it's $50 a month if they do your clothes, and they do your towels and sheets free. They clean your apartment once a month. I liked the lady director who took me around. She was very personable. The food was good, and there was nothing I disliked about it. The staff was good, especially the lady that we took the tour with and the people that we met in the dining room. They were all personable. It smelled good. I didn't see anything out of order in the places that I went."

"Horizon Bay was my dad's favorite place and I liked it too. It looked like a nice and friendly place. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice, but they were smaller than the ones in the other facility. I didn't eat there. But my father, sister and brother-in-law went for thanksgiving dinner there and they said the food was very good. I saw their dining room and it was nice. It had a happy kind of feeling. They had activities like games, movies and outings. They were less expensive and my dad really liked that they had a dog run because my dad had a little dog and that was a nice thing for him. "

"Parc Place was very good and nice. The staff was very helpful, friendly and talked to us. The one thing that I didn’t care too much was that is was very dark; I think it used to be a hospital maybe. There’s not a lot of windows, and it just felt very dark. They have a schedule of activities, and it was on the more expensive side. "

"I really liked Brookdale Eden Estates. Peggy showed us around, and she was wonderful. The one drawback was my father couldn't age in place there. He would have to move if he got worse. The room was good, and it would've worked. It just wasn't 100% sure of what we were looking for. It was nice, and I liked all the amenities and everything they had. The room had a kitchenette, a microwave, and a little fridge. They had a lot of activities, different gathering places, things scheduled on the calendar, exercises, and arts and crafts."

"I went to Parkwood Retirement Community. There was a little disadvantage there because they were still operating under strict COVID guidelines, so I didn't get to see people, or anything happening, and she said they were starting back mid-March to the use of the dining room, and other stuff. The largest two-bedrooms they have are very, very small. It would not work for us. I loved the staff member. She was wonderful, she was really, really very nice, and I liked the other women that were there. It's just difficult when you don't see anything happening. They have meals, they have exercises, a fitness center, they have a book club, entertainment, socials, and games. It's old, and it's thirty five years old. There's a difference in the feel."

"I will move into Wilshire Senior Living, which meets my requirements for space and amenities. I'm living in a 1,850-square-foot cottage with an attached two-car garage. It's more like a home than anything else. There are 32 or so cottages around a huge pond, and four of them are large like mine, and I have one of those four. The staff was great. They were perfect, and I still interact with them whenever needed. They're very responsive and professional. They have three meals a day, seven days a week."

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"When I walked into Atria Grapevine, the first thing that I saw were some people were sitting out front (a group of women and a couple of men, and they were just enjoying trying to get their sunshine and their vitamin D, and that was lovely. They were sitting out there in this wonderful weather we're having right now in Texas. I thought, "Well, these people are happy. They wouldn't be here if they weren't." The lady who met me at the door, she was just so kind and so sweet. The rooms are very spacious, and I like the idea in the shower that they can just walk right in. It's very spacious and clean. It would certainly fit my friend's needs. The rooms were very clean. The director explained everything. It's not that far from my house. I wished it was a little closer. I went over in the memory care department, and they did have activities. When I went by the other side, the ladies were painting, and they were doing some projects, and I think that's wonderful. They had some of the people's work displayed, and that's nice. That feels good. They got nice, cute artwork over there. There are attendants around everywhere. In the activity room, I saw three attendants, and there were two ladies. They were working with them and that's comforting."

"Windsor Court Senior Living is simple and clean. My father's room is good. It is just a regular room. They didn't have bathrooms in it, which I appreciated, because when you have a memory care person such as my father, who doesn't know where a bathroom is anyway, why are you going to want to walk them from one end of the facility all the way down and into their room to use their bathroom? This place has two bathrooms right close to the commons area, which is also fairly close to the bedrooms because it wasn't a huge facility, and so I appreciated that because it's more practical and makes more sense. They train on a regular basis in memory care. So, they appeared to be well trained and they have plenty of staff for what's needed, ratio wise. They do different activities. They keep them clean, they take them to the bathroom and they make sure that they're fed. The biggest thing was that they literally would sit with the residents let them talk and ask them a couple of questions even if the answers weren't what the questions are, but they're at least engaged. I was just looking for a staff that's engaged with the residents. I don't care that they don't do beadwork because he doesn't know how to do it anyway. I was not there when they were feeding them, but my wife was and my mom was there also. They thought that the food was very good. It was perfectly fine and it was just good food and they served the dessert and my father ate it up. He didn't seem to have any problem with that. So, the food was great as far as they were concerned. The thing that I liked about the place was that it was smaller. We think it has to be frilly and fluffy or look at how nice my decorations are or look! I have marble on the floor, but does it matter? Absolutely not. We just need a clean and caring staff that's going to take care of them through the end of their life and that's how I would rate Windsor Court Senior Living. It's nothing fancy. It isn't. It's a smaller dining area and it's a smaller living room area, but they need to be able to keep track of them. My father's a wanderer. He has his type of Alzheimer's, the one that is sundowners, so he just gets up and walks and walks, and he'll just walk around the room, pushing on the blinds and touching everything time and time again. If it's a big facility, where is he? How are you going to find him? They were the best priced, too."

"We have chosen Autumn Hill Manor for my dad. He hasn't moved in yet, but we're working on that right now. The staff is very helpful. I just walked in one day and asked if I could look around and take a look at the facility. They didn't have a problem with that. My sister toured it. My two other brothers were here, and they toured it. I haven't talked to the facility manager, but my sister did, and she was very impressed with the help and service that the assistant gave her. They're going to work with us on the financing and help with the VA filing, and everything seems to be working to our advantage right now. They have private homes, plus they have single rooms with large bathrooms and large rooms. The only thing they furnish is utilities, so we'll have to take my dad's furniture from here to over there, but that shouldn't be a problem. They have a game room, activities, and transportation, and they provide meals."

"My mom is a resident of Lewisville Estates. She has been there for two months. We are extremely happy with this place. We live in Lewisville so this one is close to us. What I like best about this facility is that it is small and intimate. They only have 50 people. We are happy with the staff. The food they serve is first class. The price is just right for us. Everything is just great with Lewisville Estates. "
