"The tour we did at Brookdale Eden Estates was very nice. The lady that showed us through was just lovely, and she's called me a couple of times to follow up. It's just that at this point we're not ready to move my mother. Everybody was very friendly and seemed very professional. I have not tried the food, but it looked very appetizing. I liked the way they had it setup where there's table service, I think that's really nice. It's very comfortable and very clean. I thought that the room they showed us was very nice. It seemed to be a good size for assisted living. They had two assisted living spaces available, one was about 550 sq ft and the other one was 600. I don't think they have a pool, but we saw the recreation room and it was nice and adequate."

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"Brookdale North Richland Hills was beautiful. The staff was very knowledgeable. They gave me a lot of different avenues to try to get my mom taken care of and get someone out to assess her. They're still checking on me because my mom is in an inpatient rehab facility, so they're just waiting. It's a large community and they had lots of activities to keep them busy like exercises and stuff. It's amazing."

"The nursing staff at The Wellington is, in my book, exceptional. They have done a better job at keeping my mother's mental stability at a more consistent level than anyplace else. They're not considered an assisted living; I think they're just considered a senior living. They actually have independent living. There are some folks who drive; they just come and go, almost like it's just an apartment. They also have sections where it's more of an assisted living -- they have a nursing staff who gives medications, checks their blood pressure, checks their heart rate, and all those kinds of things. The Wellington has been a really good place for my mom. The one thing that I will not give them a good score on is their food -- it's awful. Their staff is awesome. The facility is a pretty nice place. They have a lot of activities, and my mom has actually participated in some of the activities. They always have something. They have a board that has a calendar with a list of things they do. They have game rooms, and they have times when they just get in a room and sing. There is always something available for them to keep them busy. My mom doesn't participate nearly as much as she should, but the activities are available."

"We took our parents at Atria Grapewine for a visit, and they liked it, but they were not that ready. It's a very nice facility, and it’s clean and very well appointed. The staff was very nice and informative. Their dining area is very nice, and it looked like a restaurant. They have day trips, shopping, excursions, and they take the residents on walks. "

"Solstice Senior Living at Grapevine was very welcoming and very nice. If I could afford it, I'd move there. The staff showed me a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. The layout was fine. They had a game room, a very small workout area, and a huge library. The dining area was very nice, and it wasn't crowded. The place was really nice and clean. They had flowers out and things like that."

"Beautiful facility, very friendly, and the Care staff are exceptional and so attentive. This facility seems to always be understaffed, everyone there is worked to death. The main problem we have encountered is the food. The food is sometimes inedible, the menus don't seem to be planned with seniors. One evening they served everyone pizza and corn. They put huge chunks of broccoli on the plate. Not very easy for a senior to eat. They are understaffed with servers but the ones they have are great. I have complained but nothing changed. "

"I went to The Spring at Silverton. I like their overall customer service. When you walk through the door, I like how you're greeted and allowed to ask questions. We toured the property. It was just an overall good experience. The lady we spoke with was awesome. She's like the area manager or something, like the boss lady. She was amazing. They have a resort-style swimming pool. There was a library and a workout room."

"The Remington at Valley Ranch is very nice and I like the services that they offer. I like that they have washers and dryers in the individual units, and it's not a community washer and dryer. It's also spacious, and it won't be as hard a transition for my mother. I was only able to meet the administrator, the dining area was very nice and it's set up like a formal dining which is really nice. They have a pool, people would come in to do Bible studies, they have card games and they have other activities like arts and crafts. They have quite a few activities for the residents."

"I liked Belmont Village a lot, and I had a great first impression. Everything about them is great. The rooms were about like most but bigger. It's the most expensive and the highest quality of the ones we've looked at. My mom has eaten there twice, and she loved it. The location is in an elite part of town. There were a lot of people in the common areas, and I saw a lot of people at dinner; they were having some kind of community meeting while I was there. "

"I toured Edgemere. They had a lot of amenities. The indoor pool was nice. The rooms were nice, too. However, the closet space was too small. They had a library and an entertainment space. The cleanliness was excellent."

"I'm at Lakeview at Josey Ranch. Their location is more convenient to me. I think this facility does a good job of keeping their apartments very good. The kitchen staff is good and their food is good and that's the main thing. This is a senior living facility and we do not have assisted living here. My apartment is the smallest one-bedroom, but it is not too small for one person, so it is okay. "
