"The people at The Good Place are very congenial, the service is not bad, and the food is relatively good for an institution. The medical staff is superb, and they have visiting doctors and nurses that take good care of the patients. I've been very impressed with the medical care, and Medicare pays for it so I don't have to. The staff is very friendly. They don't provide anything in the way of equipment. They have exercise classes and bingo. It's very good for people who like to be sociable."

"An elderly couple in our church put down a deposit for Ashwood Court. The place was awesome. We ate an awesome lunch there at a table with some residents who were really nice. The staff was nice. The place was clean and smelled good. We’re impressed with it. "

"My mother moved into Brookdale Richland Hills, and as far as I can see they are good. Her room is nice, it is spacious, and clean. They have regular activities and I met the activities director. She's nice and my mom likes her. I also talked to some of the residents and they all like the activities director as well. We ate lunch and dinner there with the staff members and some of the people, and it was good. The staff is very attentive, they answered our questions, and have no problem calling me if there's a problem. They're just good people. The place is small and not over-crowded."

"My boyfriend stayed at HarborChase of Southlake. They didn't take very good care of him and he ended up in the hospital. They let him get mouth sores all over his mouth and back in his throat and didn't do anything about it. Finally, we got the doctor to prescribe some lidocaine rinse and they didn't give it to him. Then he got a massive urinary tract infection and had to go to the hospital. I don't like anything about it. It's extremely expensive. They charged him a fee to transfer him to the hospital. The aides didn't notify the doctor that he was sick, and he couldn't eat because he had mouth sores for about a week. The food was horrible. We had a Christmas dinner there and it was supposed to be rib roast, and it was so overcooked. I don't think they take very good care of their residents. It's beautiful. He had a really nice apartment. He was only there a short time, and the bill was $20,000, and they charged him extra for everything."

"The staff at Whitley Place seem to truly love and care about the residents at Whitley Place! Everytime I'm there my mom seems to be well taken care of, happy, and well fed. "We chose Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living, Arlington for our father because it's faith-based. The staff was wonderful. It was very nice and clean. There's no pool, but they have a library, a dining room, and gathering areas. It's a full amenity, and the price was great. They had three different floor plans, a studio, a studio deluxe, and a one-bedroom. They have first and second floors. We're moving in today. It's a wonderful experience. I went to a couple more, but Bethesda Gardens offers the most for my father."

"It was our second choice. It was bright and cheery with light yellow and white walls. The eating area looked very pleasant. The room we were looking at was a corner room and was slightly larger than the others. They're a smaller facility. One of our main concerns at the time was they do not have as much extended care. They didn't have a wing where you're not well enough to go home and you need extra oversight. They can handle therapy. Everything was clean and it was neat and looked very nice. We met two or three of the staff. They were pleasant and answered questions. The staff was helpful to the extent they could be at the time. They have someone on staff who's very knowledgeable about all the financing options. They interacted well with residents. They had permission from a couple of residents to let us see their rooms. There was one room we passed that we smelled a strong fecal odor in. We know that can't be helped, and maybe they just hadn't had a chance to remove it, but that was on our way to the dining room and it was just one room. "

"Tender Care Home for Adults 1 was nice. That's more of a group home setting. The staff seemed very knowledgeable. It's very neat and clean. I liked the fact that they had all the women in one house. It wasn't mixed with male and female. The lady was very nice and was willing to work with my mother if she went back from the hospital. It's a three- or four-bedroom house. It's pretty large with a nice-sized backyard, and they have a nice sitting area. She had it pretty well upgraded."

"I have been very pleased with them. We've had some issues with them getting to know my mom and her getting to know them. The staff has been very receptive to feedback and I appreciate that. They have some music activities, Bingo, jewelry making, arts and crafts, and other entertainment. The great grandchildren went and played Bingo with her last week, so that was fun for her."
