Assisted Living Communities in Brownsville, TX

"Canterbury court is convenient because we live in Harlingen. It’s a pretty decent facility. The rooms are large. I got a one-bedroom, it's carpeted, and you get to control your own heat. The staff here are pretty decent and very good people. I have no complaints. For the food, there are good days and bad days, but the food is pretty decent. It’s probably the most affordable place around right now, and I like it fine. "

"The first time I arrived at Spanish Meadows to visit my grandmother was one that I probably will not forget. Right when I had entered the building, I was greeted by so many of the workers, and they had huge smiles in their faces. Since we had never been inside the building, we asked one of the CNAs where my grandmother's room was. Instead of telling us where it was, she took us to my grandmother's room. Once we had arrived, she nicely asked if we needed anything. Obviously, we said no. Inside the room, we noticed how clean the room was. There was no sign of dust, the furniture seemed polished and the bathroom looked brand new. A few minutes after our arrival, a woman brought my grandmother her dinner, which actually looked delicious. Right after my grandmother finished her meal, she quickly came by, wiped the table, and took the tray with her. When my grandmother had to use the bathroom, we rang a little bell and someone came and quickly took stood her up, and took her to the bathroom. The workers here are very professional, and very nice. They seem like they really like their jobs. "

"Very unimpressive. We had an appointment. The place was clean but the rooms were depressing. Just painting the rooms/building would have been an improvement. There were no safe guards for the residents getting out into a busy area. The grounds were unkept and needed some TLC. Looked like old chairs were put outside because nobody wanted them anymore. The staff was out of sight for the most part. The only gathering area was as soon as you came in a door - flat screen TV and straight back chairs. The dining area was very homey. "

"My aunt was there and really helped her! Thank you!"

"My mother was a resident for two years. Her needs were met quickly by a very caring staff. The food is very good and her likes and dislikes were taken into account. A beautiful vintage home newly renovated. "
