The 10 Best Assisted Living Facilities in Farmers Branch, TX for 2023
Situated in the Dallas region, Farmers Branch has a comforting small-town environment with easy access to world-class entertainment, high-performing medical facilities and unique shops and restaurants. It has a senior community of over 5,500 people, which accounts for about 12% of the total population of 48,000 people. While the city’s overall cost of living is high compared to the rest of the state, seniors don’t pay state income tax on any retirement income. The city’s low crime rate and comfortable year-round temperatures may appeal to active seniors who enjoy being outdoors.
For seniors who want to maintain as much independence as possible but need help with some daily tasks, assisted living is a great option. This level of care includes personal care services, meals, recreational activities and supportive services in a residential setting. The Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey discloses that seniors in Farmers Branch pay approximately $4,400 per month for assisted living, which is a little higher than the national median.
This guide provides more in-depth information on senior care costs in Farmers Branch, including how monthly rates compare across assisted living alternatives within the city. It also summarizes the benefits and drawbacks of living here and the free resources available to local seniors.

I looked at two different models and both seemed to be adequate. Even the smaller one didn’t seem small. I thought they both would have been very comfortable.
The dining area looked like a restaurant-type. People were at their individual tables. The grounds were OK. They were about to undergo some renovations, so I think things are going to change. The facility itself was fine, but I just don’t like the neighborhood around it.

That has no reflection on the facility itself, it’s just that I don’t care for the location. Well, it’s clean and well laid out. They have lots of amenities. The rooms are nice. The staff who gave me a tour was excellent. She’s a young lady named Megan. She showed me everything around the facilities and told me about the amenities. She answered all the questions I had. My mom is currently staying in Monticello West. She has been there for a year now. It is a beautiful property. It is very tastefully decorated. The staff that works there (including the directors, the nurses, and the people at the desk) are all very helpful and very friendly. My mom is happy there. They have an activities director that goes out of her way to try to create activities that are inclusive of all different types of people. It’s a quiet, safe, beautiful place, and it’s not as expensive as most of the other comparable ones. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating, and they go out of their way to try to meet everyone’s needs.
Food is OK; it’s pretty average. Some days are better than others. They had a great chef in the past, but he left. They have another chef there now, and it’s average. They offer rented units where you pay a monthly fee for the fully furnished down to the linen. That’s what my mom did for the first year. There’s a kitchenette that has a microwave and a refrigerator. They have a laundry service every week that is included in the price, but you can also do it yourself if you are wanting to. It’s down the hall in a separate room.

Belmont Village Turtle Creek is more like luxury apartments with extra amenities and services than kind of a medical facility. The traditional assisted living is fine, but they kind of stepped it up, and it’s very home like and very catered to the needs of the client. The rooms were very spacious, very bright, with lots of windows. They had a lot of options for the type of floor plan. They really had an eye to individualized service, from what I’ve seen. This was just the initial tour, but there was a lot of activity in the hallway in a good way. Clients were out. In a couple of the places I’ve gone to, there’s nobody in the halls, the lights were off, and it’s kind of dark, but this place was vibrant and active. Not just listening to what the tour person, Vivian, was talking about, but like observing what was actually happening with the clients. It’s going to be such a perfect place for my husband, who thrives on the social, but just can’t get around as easily.
They had an extensive menu and my husband has a specialized diet. He’s pescatarian, so he only eats fish and vegetables, and they had a lot of selection for him. They have a meat and a fish and a pasta every day. It looks like chef-inspired meals. I got that from the menu. I didn’t actually eat the food. The staff was very good. I met everybody. I met nurses and caregivers and a janitor lady. Everybody was friendly and just seemed comfortable there. It’s a beautiful facility. It is very expensive, but really quality care. I think this is going to be it for us. They had a chapel, a movie theater, and a pool. They had everything.
