"I toured The Reserve at North Dallas. The apartments were very new, with huge closets and big rooms. The kitchen was very nice with some granite countertops. They had some good choices of food. And if you didn't like what they were serving, they had other food available for you that you could get, kind of what they always have. The outside was nice. The places, community rooms, and community spaces looked nice, along with all the activities they provided, and there were lots of choices. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, had lots of great information, was very friendly, and took the time. The residents were nice. Some of them were sharing their stories and what they liked about them. So, that was good too."

"The Forum at Park Lane was a very nice place, and I liked it. The dining area looked good. They had a library and a salon. The rooms looked good, but I needed more amenities for my wheelchair that they were willing to fix if I was to move there. "

"My aunt moved into The Retreat at Carrollton. It's very clean. They have the best food. They have a great nurse who's hands-on. They take out the trash every single day. They clean your apartment and do your laundry once a week. When they bring it in, they wash your sheets and everything. When they bring it back in, they make up your bed. It's just been a godsend. They serve three meals a day. You go to the cafeteria to eat. They have a library. They play games. They have a big swimming pool and a gym. It's a wonderful place. Tony was the man who helped us with it. I have had no problems with the staff. My aunt has had no problem. Kay is the registered nurse there. She was even there last weekend. I go on Saturdays, and my cousin, my aunt's daughter, goes through the week, and we've had no issues. The people who clean the apartment didn't clean very well last week, last Saturday, and I said something about that, but that's my own preference. Everybody's particular, and I'm included. They came back within 30 minutes after me, going to the desk and saying there's still water on the mirror in the bathroom, and did what I had requested. They play games and will take you to your doctor's visits if it's within 10 miles of The Retreat. They take them to Walmart or Kroger. They can stay busy, but my aunt is not a joiner. She's not going to do any of that. It's more like a hotel. It's clean, nice, and well-lit. They have someone on security at night and cameras all the way around it."

"Silvermark has become an extension of our family, and most importantly, my Mom is happy there. The owners and management are on site and available. Every single employee, including the executive director and the owners, truly cares for the residents and are involved on a personal level. One of the owners, reads to my Mom. They allow me, and encourage me to bring my dog in to visit. My Mom loves the food and it is clean and bright. It does not smell of industrial pine cleaner, like so many places I looked at."

"Atria Carrollton was just as nice as the other place, but the location was good because it's near to where I'm living now and it's convenient. The staff was friendly and detail-oriented. They offered food, but I didn't try it. This facility was probably the largest out of all the ones that we looked at."

"My father-in-law is in Prestonwood Court Assisted Living and Memory Care. He's in their memory care. It has been fine. Everything went smoothly once we got him all evaluated. He's so much better now, and I think a lot of it has to do with the food. It's really good, and it's chef-prepared. He's on a good eating program, too, so I think that has helped him a lot. Everyone who works there, I have not had any problems with them. Everybody is very attentive. If you ask them questions, I can text them, email, or call, which has been great. The building is not brand new, but it has been updated. He is in an open room with a bathroom, a closet, and everything else. Most of those in memory care are more like that. It's more like a studio, but this one is roomier than some we have looked at. Some of them were smaller and felt more like a hospital room. This one doesn't, and it was bigger, so that was one of the things we liked about it. I think they only have room there for 18 people, it could be 20 max, and that's another thing I liked because it is a smaller memory care facility. I feel like there is more attention to helping the residents, and they have a lot of activities for them, too. They keep them busy. My father-in-law is not used to that. He was used to working still when he was 85, so he's not used to having a lot of activities or social life. Now, he has met new people there and he's been more social, which I think is good for him with the memory thing. They come to clean once a week and make his bed every day. They do a lot of stuff for him there. I'm not gonna say it was the cheapest one we looked at, but as far as the care and attention he's getting, it was worth it."

"Appletree Court felt like being with family from day one. Every staff member has made my mother and all our family members feel welcome. The facility is very clean and everyone works hard to maintain a very pleasant atmosphere. They make your bed for you everyday! Many staff members have worked at Appletree for many years and truly show such care and concern for the residents. They made it a priority to help my Mother's transistion to assisted living as easy as possible. Someone is always encouraging her to join in the activities! There is always something going on for the residents to enjoy, including fresh baked cookies everyday! My family and I highly recommend Apple Tree Court!"

"The Tradition - Lovers Lane is very positive and excellent. I visited both the independent and assisted living. The food was good, the atmosphere in the dining room was excellent, and my impression of the staff was very positive. Shopping is convenient and there's a large grocery store across the street that has a bank and a pharmacy. There's also other commercial shopping less than five-minutes away."

"I've been at The Wellington at Arapaho for five years now. It's comfortable. The staff is good. It's a two-story facility and it has a very nice approach if you're driving into it. It's well built. Architecturally, it's nicely constructed. It's nice inside. It's nice to have my friends come in from the outside. It's well maintained. The food runs from fair to good. They have activities nearly every day. They have dominoes, pool, numerous card games, Bridge, and other games. We have a library. On Fridays, they have happy hour here and they usually have some entertainment brought in from the outside, pianist or violinist or singer, maybe a small band. They usually have cocktails if you want one or soft drinks. Our facility is probably 95% occupied now. It was about 75% when I moved in five years ago."
