"We went with Meadowview Place. They are really helpful as far as the process of getting my sister in. I know with Covid, everything is crazy, but they have been really receptive to our phone calls. Overall, it's just a really good experience. We barely got in to see the apartment because of Covid. When we went in, the apartment was nothing fancy, but it was as advertised. It was fairly true to the online photos. It was nice and handicap accessible, and it had a small kitchenette and a nice small bathroom. Overall, we were pleased with the apartment. The staff members are very friendly. One of the directors gave us her personal cell phone number, and we have been able to call her at different times. She has been extremely helpful every time we call. They have a courtyard area, and they have begun trying to set up an inside visit area with plexiglass and all that stuff due to Covid. They have a spa room, they can go to the beauty shop, and they have separate different meal options. My sister who is in there smokes, so they are able to take her out a couple of times a day to have a cigarette. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful."

"My tour at Magnolia Court Assisted Living & Memory Care was nice. They showed me three different apartments. They gave me a rundown on the prices. I was doing it by myself without my mother and I was impressed with Magnolia Court, and I felt that would be the place for her. When she toured it at a later date, she chose an apartment, and so we began the process. My mother would have a kitchenette, a living room, a dining room, and then a wide doorway that goes into her bedroom, and then a very large bathroom with a nice closet. She chose to go out onto the courtyard because she has a cat, and it is very nice for her to have the cat to go out on the courtyard. The courtyard is enclosed. It's set out to different areas for you to visit with your family if you want to, or just get some sun and enjoy the weather. It's a very nice and a very safe feeling place. They have a beauty salon, a room for crafting and games, regular exercise areas, and a community room that's really nice with a very large TV. They have a van, and they take trips to eat out. When I was there one day, they had all gone to the Cracker Barrel and came back, and they were happy. My mother is really excited. She's going to be quite entertained. She is a very social person, and that's why we chose it, because it's going to have proper care and she can be social. The dining room was beautiful. The menu looked delicious. They have an ice cream bar and a happy hour with the ice cream bar around, so that sounded fun. They have a little area where they have plants, and my mother is really excited about that because she's a gardening person. Just beautiful amenities. The price is right, which was one thing, it wasn't outrageous. And it did not feel like a nursing home, which she's not ready for that. She's only 88 and she's not ready for a nursing home."

"Countryside Senior Living of Lufkin was a wonderful place. We got there around lunchtime and they showed us the menu. The smell of the food was very, very pleasant. The facility was very clean and open. You can see the grounds where they have bird feeders, bird baths, and a place you can go and enjoy the outside. James was the one who showed us the 4 or 5 rooms that were available for people. He was very nice and told us everything we needed to know if we were to go to that facility. He was very knowledgeable."

"The Arbor has recently been redone in a lot of areas. They have a facility for Alzheimer's patients. They have many groups come in to provide entertainment and information. They also have a hairdresser and nurses. The people there are content and the management is very good. The staff is excellent and the residents like them. The rooms were well done and with excellent taste. They have a separate bedroom and living area, and there were some that were just bedrooms."

"This seemed to be a very clean and well kept assisted living home. Upon entering the facility, there was a large open room that was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The people who lived there were clean and looked well taken care of. We met with the manager who was on duty at the time. She seemed very kind, and had the interest of the residents as her first priority. As we met with the individual residents, we went into some of their bedrooms, especially of the people who were unable to come listen to our performance. The rooms were a good size, and seemed quite comfortable and clean. The only thing that could have made this assisted living facility a little bit better would have been if the smell of the home had been fresher. I don't know if anything can be done about that, and it was no different than any other assisted living facility I have ever visited. They just always seems to smell not-so-fresh! Other than that, this place was one of the best I have ever seen, and I would certainly recommend it to those who are looking for a place for their lived ones to live with assistance! "

"We chose Pinecrest because it's more private. There are more nurses, more aides, and there are a lot more amenities. I liked the fact that because of the number of nurses, you would get attention quicker. They have a nursing home, they have independent living, and they have houses. They have everything there. They have a small store, an exercise center, a parlor, a lot of living space outside, driving to other places, and a bistro."
