"At Emeritus at Lakeridge Place, there were ample attendants for each individual. I noticed how the staff interacted with their residents, and it was just remarkable. They have a lot of attention and a lot of good things. They seem to really care. They were very courteous, friendly, and patient. All of the residents knew the staff, and they weren't afraid to talk to them. That's an indicator that they aren't tyrants. The rooms were spacious. There is a nice view of the lake out on the terrace, where they could sit out and do whatever they want to do. Their dining area was pretty much like a hotel. They have a wing for assisted living and a wing for memory care. I have tasted their food on a couple of occasions. It was not home cooking, but I didn't see anybody pushing their plate aside. They have monthly birthday parties, they provide bus service to appointments, and they also have trips to the local mall, which is really close. They have other activities to try to keep their people involved. "

"Brookdale was really nice. The living space was larger than the other ones I had looked at. They had full-time chefs rather than just cooks, so they had a better choices on the menu. "

"I liked that it was very homey-looking. I happened to be there when the residents were doing their exercise class and they seemed to be enjoying it. They take the seniors shopping once a week if they want to do that, and they have a van driver to take them. It's also a pet-friendly community. They serve three meals a day. They provide housekeeping and they wash the linens once a week."

"I went to tour Elison Assisted Living of Lake Wellington. It looked very bright and cheerful. It was not dated. It was just very fresh. The staff was very friendly. Their menu had more choices and the dining room had tablecloths. It just looked inviting to go there. They had a front sitting area, but they also had a nice fenced-in backyard that was facing the water, and it was very nice. The nurses station was handy. They offered laundry once a week, but they said if Mom needs it more than once a week, they're happy to do it more than once a week. And same with cleaning. They would clean her room once a week. But if she needed trash taken out, they could take care of that for her. It just seemed to have a little more pluses. Also, if she wanted to take her meal in her room, they could do that by picking it up and there would be no other charge. They had a library and church services. I believe they even had a little separate chapel room."

"I moved into Rolling Meadows. I like the privacy. I have a garage. It's just the same as living in an independent house, except that we have more facilities that I can take part in. The main building has a fitness center, a swimming pool, a dining hall, and all of the amenities that come with that. I'm in a two-bedroom apartment, and it's about 1300 square feet. It has been very nice. I have neighbors that I can visit with. Everything is very well planned and managed. I feel very comfortable with it. They have food facilities in the main building. It's a little expensive, but it's manageable."
