Assisted Living Communities in Chickasha, OK

"My mom is in Brookdale Chickasha. The staff is very caring and wonderful. My mom ditched me for some of the people in the community because she wanted to go talk to her new friends. She's like, "You can hang out if you want. I'm going to go talk to my friends." And so that was pretty cool. That tells me how happy she is. I guess most or all of them now have a restaurant-style cafeteria where they can sit and order from a menu. My mom has Alzheimer's, so she told me the food was amazing. I asked her what she had for dinner, and she said she didn't remember. She just remembered that it was good. So, she loves the meals. They come to get them for each meal, they clean their room, and launder their clothes and sheets. They have a salon onsite where they can go in and get their hair done and shampoo. They have a big massaging walk-in tub so they can go take a bath if they want to. They had libraries, TV rooms, game rooms, and living rooms. Brookdale was my second choice and looking around this was the more affordable choice. My first choice was well out of my price range. It is beautiful. My mom keeps the window open so she can see the courtyard. They have field trips, they play games with them, and do all kinds of stuff. I am supposed to be signing a permission slip today for a trip, but I don't know when or where that is. I am going to find out. I think it's a really good value. I don't have any complaints. They're steps above and beyond."

"We decided on Glenhaven Retirement Village for my parents because it is in a location where my parents live and because they know people that live there. It is in a nice area. The building itself seems to be in good condition. Their people seem nice as well. They offer both assisted living and skilled nursing. Of course my parents prefer to be at their own home, but they seem to be doing fine there. In the assisted living, they have good activities for the residents and they seem to enjoy doing those things. I would recommend this place to others. "

"When my grandfather was there towards the end of his life, the nurses and doctors at Paradise Valley Retirement Villages were very helpful. The made sure he always had his meals on time, cards or dominoes to play and a very well balanced diet. Overall I feel like he was very well taken care of. "

"The staff here are incredible. They treat the residents like family and are extremely considerate to their needs. They take pride in their work and truly love the residents. They came highly recommended by a friend of my family because she saw where they had four inspections in a row from the state and passed them all with no deficiencies. My mother takes pride in where she lives. The other residents are so kind to her and made her feel welcome immediately. The rooms are spacious and clean. Mom always brags about the cleanliness of the building's common areas and her apartment. She loves having visitors there because the staff are even nice to guests! Mom and her friends love the activity directors. They take them all over the place (even to Oklahoma City) for plays, musicals and out to dinner. The food is great at West Wind too! My kids and I eat there all the time. They have a menu they can order from at any meal, like a restaurant. I also like that this business is locally owned and operated. Any time we've had a concern, the administrator is very easy to reach and we even see the owner there several times a week. The management team is very respectful and always listens to us. The nursing director and administrator both discuss details about mom's care with us and are always extremely helpful. We looked at every assisted living in Duncan, Marlow and Lawton and we know we made the right choice. It is so much friendlier of an environment than the others and right when we walked in, we knew it felt like home. "

"I’m going into Rambling Oaks. I’ve toured about six different places, and I like Rambling Oaks because it is bright, open, and cheerful-looking. I got the size of the apartment that I wanted, which is about 560 square feet. I’m happy with Rambling Oaks. One friend of mine had her mother in there for 11 years, and she loved it. Another neighbor of my son had his mother in there for three years, and she loved it, too. "
